I can use my cards or American dollars so I always have $100 or $150 in pesos. Anyways, they sell noodles, hot dogs, pizza slices, fruits, and sandwiches if you want something more substantial. They have a lot of beer, alcohol, water, gatorade, juices, sodas, and milk. Very nice

I often buy milk and ice cream there. You will see some 7-11´s here in PDC but they are much more expensive than Oxxo. This particular store is near the beach. A bit of Oxxo trivia. They were originally founded in Monterrey in 1978 by Grupo FEMSA as an outlet to sell their beer brands. They now have more than 11,000 stores in Mexico.

The prices might be a bit higher than on the open local market stalls, but with better odds that the items are authentic. They also have a full gamut of grocery items, along with an instore restaurant serving a Chinese buffet of all things. And there are other stalls lining the outer inside ring, selling various things, under one roof. Kinda reminded me of the asian market set-up where the main store brings people in, and vendors rent out the space to sell their wares.

The shop is located in a neighborhood and not a tourist area in a small storefront. Nancy led our experience and gave us an interesting talk on chocolate and its history. It was really interesting. We then actually ground some "nibs" and made our own chocolate for hot chocolate. It was a lit of fun and we ended up taking our little medallion of chocolate home with us to try on some winter evening. Nancy also gave us samples of different types of flavored chocolate. They were just small pieces but by the time we were finished I think we had about 20 different chocolates. The tour is inexpensive and a lot of fun. As an added comment, we were on a cruise and the cab fare was about the same as a ride into the tourist area. This is not in a tourist area so you'll see where people actually live. Nancy will call a cab for you for the trip back to the ship or to the tourist area. Again, this was a lot of fun.

We asked our driver to take us to best chocolate shop in town and he took us to Kaokao. We were really please. We were greeted by the nicest ladies who walked us inside the shop. They also gave tours here but we were there strictly just to purchase. The lady behind the counter did offer us some samples. I had a lot of questions and the nice staff was able to answer all of them. She also knew all the ingredients in them and helped me choose what was best for me. I ended up getting some dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee espresso beans, and some other goodies. The shop was really cute and they had all things chocolate and more. They even had toys and souvenirs. But their star are their chocolates which are high-quality and made from the finest ingredients. They even had interesting chocolate flavor combinations. The shop should also be clean, well-maintained, and air conditioned. Pricing was also reasonable. I highly recommend if you are in Cozumel and want to stop in a good chocolate shop.

Daughter ordered the beef tacos and chicken tacos which she liked. Husband ordered pastor tacos which he recommends. I also ordered the horchata which came in a big goblet and was refreshing. I think they gave us free chips and salsa even though the menu said $6. Possibly the tips are included as there is a tip jar by the host stand. But we will tip anyway since times are tough around the world. Fish ceviche was amazing and came with fresh chips. I would run here from the cruise ship for delicious food. The kitchen cooks everything fresh, so be patient.

One would think being close to a supermarket for a connivence mart would not be the best idea, but it was fairly busy when my brother and I stopped in during our first cruise stop at the nearby cruise terminal. We had been at this store the previous week, and had found a certain series of Pokemon cards that we weren't sure my daughter thought was worth getting. We confirmed that they were, and found that the cards were still there. So bought some of the packs (Aventuras Compartidas) to bring back to her.

Off the beaten tourist path, slightly, but a clean safe neighborhood and only a short walk from the main square. We had two different shrimp dishes, in both the shrimp were properly cooked; i.e., not over-cooked as can happen. Margarita's were tasty and a generous serving. Price was reasonable, and the service was great - very friendly staff. We try to vary where we eat when we travel, but we're planning on going back for another dinner before we leave - it was such a pleasant experience.
