These ladies are the best. Honestly. From the setting up an appointment, to the actual cleaning service and open communication; they are bar none. I threw a party in my apartment on a Saturday night. Imagine the frattiest, frat party of fratsville. Puke in the toilets, bottles of liquor strewn across several rooms, a thick layer of black scum coating the floors; this is the mess that the ladies of Dust to Shine walked into. I called them on a Wednesday, and Andrea confirmed our Sunday morning appointment via text. We texted throughout the week to finalize our service options and pricing. Remember to treat them kindly over the phone and in person, because even with the slaughterhouse they worked with, Andrea still gave us a discount from the kindness of her heart. They arrived on time with all the necessary tools and materials to do the hard work. I actually tried helping them clean (out of sheer guilt), but Andrea shoo'ed me away and promised to take care of it. Four lovely ladies tackled a kitchen, living room, long hallway, one bedroom and two bathrooms in under an hour and 45 minutes. Our place is clean enough to walk barefoot, which we couldn't even do prior to the party. We will definitely call them again for our post St. Patrick's day party. We hired Andrea and her crew to clean our Aunts' home in Long Island. Two elderly women living in a large house but unable to care for it because one has Alzheimer's and the other has been very ill and doesn't have the strength for the basic activities of daily living. We could not discharge her safely from the hospital with the extremely unsanitary conditions in the house. I have no words to describe the hoarding, the squalor, the grime, and the smell of incontinence. Andrea was very pleasant and very kind. I agree with the other reviews about her and her team being wonderful and nonjudgmental. They came in at 9 am and worked hard all day to organize, clean, polish and throw out what was necessary. That house went from uninhabitable to shining in one day. They worked so hard and left everything immaculate. I don't think I've seen those bathrooms and kitchen so clean in at least a decade. All the cabinets, the fridge and the dishes are clean, the bathrooms are sparkling, the walls are clean, the furniture has been polished, and the messes organized. The furniture and rugs that needed to be removed, were moved outside so all we need to do is get a dumpster. I only wish we had the time to get the dumpster before they arrived. My husband once came home with a flier and wanted to treat me to Deep cleaning services. I was skeptical at first because I tend to like doing my own cleaning. Their services are amazing! Super professional and so fast and all around friendly people. I've had them come over to clean several times and they even helped me organize my tiny closet with way too many clothes.. Andrea and her amazing team worked a miracle for my good friend's elderly mother's home in Forest Hills, NY that was filled with junk, old furniture and garbage! They are professional, amicable and so hard working. Most importantly, this company is understanding as they took care of cleaning out a 3 story home with over 30 years of collection and left it clean/sparkling and new, with no judgment! They helped fill a 30 foot dumpster to the top and were extra careful of identifying belongings that needed to stay. Don't bother yourself do not call this woman. She supposed to come Monday afternoon, but she did not appear later we got call from her- I am busy today let me come tomorrow early in a morning. First of all she was late, the second thing this woman did not work 4 hours, but only 3.30. But charged us for 4 hours plus tip. Later when she left we check out our camera, this woman is crazy she threw all of our clothes on a dirty floor while she was wearing her outside shoes and then she fix them and put them back. And now she send me text message asking give her 5 stars. Forget it, I will not give you even two stars. read more

Andrea and her team of cleaners are excellent!! Very reasonably priced and very thorough cleaning every time. They move furniture and get into each little nook and cranny to get dirt out. Very fast and efficient. I highly recommend Dust to Shine. Best decision I made to regularly schedule my apartment to be cleaned by Andrea and her team. Andrea and her crew changed my life. My mom is a beautiful person and a very hard working woman, but she sadly has a hoarding problem which was way too overwhelming for any single person, let alone me and some friends. Andrea's company came recommended through a social worker so I thought that was a safe bet. She is warm and compassionate and will treat your home like you would treat it. Also, and this is important, she will not judge you or your family and make you feel embarrassed for a problem and/or illness many "normal people" deal with. She hires people that reflect that same attitude. I cannot wait to hire her again for smaller jobs and I will always recommend her company. I had tears in my eyes when they left and not just because of the truly awe inspiring work they accomplished, but because I was so grateful and overjoyed.
