Not only for the water sports we came to them for, but also going out of their ways to help ensure we had good solid recommendations form other activities we came to the area for. I purchased a hand gun and a red dot from GFTW. Before the purchase, their people showed me how…read morethe gun has a cover plate that can be removed to access mounting pins and holes. They showed how the red dot would be mounted and still allow use of iron sights. After the wait period, I went back and paid for the gun and sight. I had GFTW install the sight. Instead of mounting it properly, they mounted it on top of the cover plate. This blocked the iron sights. I complained that this was wrong. They just replied that I need extended sights. When I got home, I fixed the faulty installation. I also emailed them to complain of the poor service. The response from GFTW was that I am "NOT A CUSTOMER ANYMORE" and that "WE DID NOTHING WRONG". The staff at GFTW is clearly incompetent and they do not stand behind their work. Shop somewhere else.

The GardenSwartz staff were amazing! I was advised to come to this store by a friend from Ouray, CO…read morewho said they were really cool about swapping Camelbaks with issues. Not only were staff willing to swap out my Camelbak, but they took the time to show me that there was actually nothing wrong with my Camelbak, and even though I felt like a complete doofus for wasting their time, they were totally cool about it and gave me good advice about where to find bouldering nearby. Especially big shout out to Cameron who was my primary contact in the store. Thanks!!!

I went and spent the morning catching fish all morning. The problem was, they were all between 4-6". I'm not suggesting that some were small, I am saying every single fish was that size. To be honest, I did not know that anyone fished for fish that small on purpose. Why would you?? My guide was incredibly friendly and very knowledgable so I am a little surprised about the outing. I know a half-day trip limits locations but this was incredibly disappointing. It was a lot of money for the outing and to say I have buyer's remorse would be an understatement. So if you book and they tell you they want to take you out to the La Plata River, please insist on a different location.

Our family of 6 makes Ski Barn a second home when gearing up for the mountain this time of year…read more The Ski Barn team killed it again this year. We picked out skis and bindings for our 12 year old Son at 11am and received a call by 4pm letting us know they were ready to shred. With two locations in Durango and a serious on-line threat, THEY GET IT DONE! Because the Staff is constantly skiing some of the most challenging and chill slopes in CO (and beyond), the Ski Barn staff can easily help dial in your final decision. The ski and snowboarding experience that you'll tap into the minute you walk in the door truly spans decades. There's a great mix of old school experience and new ski and snowboard advice to be had. Special thanks to Bill and Angie, Shane, Cort and, of course the dude in the basement. By the way, the dude in the basement has mad respect from all of the other Ski Barn staff as one of the most ridiculous skiers in the area. He also fits boots real damn good. These guys and gals don't just sell and rent great gear they live the mountain life, racking up blue bird and powder days at every opportunity. It's also worth saying, the staff is humble and loves to share their depth of knowledge in a way that isn't intimidating.

We found Sunsapphires to be friendly, welcoming and helpful…read more When my wedding ring broke, I looked for a place to repair it. After searching for goldsmiths in the Durango area, I found Adam Parker at Sunsapphires. I saw his original work and was so impressed, we decided instead of a repair, I would have Adam make me a new ring using my original gemstones. Adam was extremely helpful in creating a new design, made a 3D printer model, and completed the final ring in a timely fashion. We are thrilled with his work. We highly recommend Adam Parker and Sunsapphires for all of your jewelry needs. The shop also has a stained glass studio where you can try out your artistry and many selections of stained glass for purchase.

I grew up in a small town, and every now and then I get reminded that Durango is still a place…read morewhere people help each other out. Target Rental is exactly that kind of place. Destiny in the front office is nothing short of amazing. She's knowledgeable, courteous, and genuinely helpful--she reminds you of what great customer service used to feel like. And then there's Richard (aka "hernia guy"), who literally busted his gut helping folks out. He may not have lifted over his weight class for me, but he absolutely went above and beyond. I needed a couple of straps to secure a pallet on my trailer, and what did Richard do? He walked out to his own truck and grabbed a couple of his personal straps for me to use. He didn't know me from Adam--but that's just the typical MO for the whole team at Target Rental. If you need to rent anything in Durango, do yourself a favor and go see these folks. This is how customer service is supposed to feel.
