We were out at this ski resort this summer using it as a base of operations for our touring of this area. ATV tours in the San Juan Mountains, Going down in a Gold Mine, White Water Rafting on the Animas River, Exploring Mesa Verde and Four Corners. Rent a condo for the same price as a good hotel room and have room for 10 with kitchens, bathrooms and unrivaled views. The resort has full summertime activities including hiking, climbing wall, ziplines, mountain bikes, mini-golf and all kinds of other fun things for the kids. The food is only so-so and a little pricey but just take in the views while you eat and you'll forget that. Silverton is nearby and so is the town of Durango. Prices triple for ski season so look out. The people are friendly and the staff is cool so enjoy something different. Lots of kids around and they even do summer camp sessions - a day, a couple of days or a week. It's not just for skiing. read more
