Even worse, they refused to stand behind their work and told us it would cost another $3-4k to fix what they were supposed to fix the first time. Completely unacceptable. Thankfully, we were referred to TH Works, run by Terry Hansen, and they were absolute lifesavers. Terry communicated clearly from the start, showed up promptly, and actually diagnosed the real issue. He and his team fully fixed our septic system and made sure everything was draining properly before wrapping up. Septic problems are stressful and expensive, but working with TH Works was a breath of fresh air. Honest, reliable, and professional--exactly what you hope for but rarely find. I would 100% hire Terry again and recommend TH Works without hesitation.

I'm a Realtor and my client hired TSSI to complete a septic installation. Terry did a great job…read moreselling his services telling my client what he wanted to hear, but then fell short on performance. He signed a contract stating he would finish work by 3/28/14, but in fact, the installation didn't get final approval until 4/21/14, over 3 weeks past the original completion date. He said he would have a crew out there working, but for the first two weeks, hardly anyone was there at all. One thing Terry told the homeowner was that Dominic's emergencies weren't his emergencies. When I called to ask questions and point out that Terry wasn't doing what he said he would do, he became beligerant and said if I showed up at the job site anymore he would walk off the job. While Terry's installation was good as far as I know, his attitude is terrible and you can't count on what he says.

We noticed our toilets not really properly flushing fully and knew that it was about time to get…read moreour septic pumped anyway so I called Simpson Septic yesterday (Monday) and he said that it would be until the next day (today - Tuesday) around 2pm before he could get here. Anyway, this morning at about 10:30, he called to ask if it was alright if he started heading this way (of course! ). He got here shortly before 11:30am and got the job done (also had us flush our toilets to make sure there was no blockage - the last people who pumped our tank did not have us do this) as well as giving us a recommendation for a guy that could straighten a pipe that needs fixing and replace the deteriorating covers to our tank. He was very polite on the phone and a good guy in person. We really appreciate the way he made sure to go the extra mile in making sure we were satisfied!

Very unprofessional! My mother called this company and they…read morescheduled her service for this past Saturday, September 12th. The guy came out but brought out a truck too big, I'm guessing this could have been fixed that day but the guy that came out admitted to not wanting to work because of the Texas game! If they didn't want to work on an important day to them, why waste peoples time?! My mom being nice, understood and rescheduled for Monday. The guy came in at 630 (unbeknownst to me that they make calls that early) so I questioned why he was there so early. The guy never once looked me in the face and told me, "yall find someone else". Literally left speechless because I wasn't rude, just unsure of what was going on. A conversation could've been had but the emotional man didn't care! We have 2 septics on the property and I will NEVER call him out again. Too bad he was recommended by our septic guys who check it out yearly. I will make sure everyone knows what a douchebag that guy was. Edited to add: after speaking with family further.. My grandfather mentioned that the guy that came from Anytime septic had noticed that their septic pump switch had been turned off that Saturday, when Eric first came out. He didn't even work on the septic, so unsure why he did that! Had it continued to go unnoticed, this could have caused further damage. My brother also noticed the same size truck Eric brought Saturday was also the same truck he brought that Monday. That just goes to show you he didn't want to help us. We are unsure why we were treated this way and that is why this review is posted. We stand by our review!

When I booked the appointment they told me they really didn't have set rates and would look at the job on site and give me an estimate. I thought that was fair. However, That Never Happened. When I called to discuss my bill he said his plumbers got paid $200/hr and there was an equipment cost. I said ok but they were gone in 30 minutes. He said we don't bill anything less than an hour. I told him that I thought the charges were unreasonable, given the ease of the job and that no one ever offered me an estimate up front as promised before fixing it. He told me his people had to eat. Hard Rock Septic is the best septic installer in the San Marcos area. Once upon a time long ago I…read moreworked as an health inspector, one of the duties of which is ensuring that septic systems (OSSFs) are properly designed for the residence it will serve and soil type that will receive the treated effluent. The state also requires that critical aspects of the system are inspected during installation and upon completion, after which the local health inspector will issue a permit for that system. For experienced installers this work should be relatively easy. Amazingly, many of the local installers fail inspections often, and one or two seemed to fail at least one inspection per installation. Typically because they are lazy or rushed, or their staff is lazy, rushing to finish, or poorly trained. During my tenure Hard Rock rarely needed re inspections and if he did it was for an unforeseeable or unavoidable reason. While local health departments do not recommend particular businesses, when I was ready to get a system installed, every experienced inspector that I asked recommended Hard Rock (and no one else - there are several other nice and competent installers in the area however, and several excellent installers in the dripping springs area but they usually have enough local business and thus prefer not to work in this area). I can also say that many of my friends recommend this business as well. Several times I've been told that the owner has done additional work (moving landscape boulders, digging small ponds, etc) at no charge, and will often respond to future requests by saying he'll come by next time he's working in the area and do whatever minor work is needed for free. And he keeps his word. He did a great, quick job on my installation and dug some holes and trenches I needed for free. The only negative comment I can make (and this is true of most installers) is that he recommended an aerobic system, which are fraught with issues and should be banned or maintained by the local wastewater dept. Installers love these systems because they can charge more and it is a very fast installation compared to a traditional system, plus a service contract is required by law. In my case, in order to avoid installing an aerobic system I would have needed truckloads of soil delivered for what's called a mounded LPD OSSF. It would have been more expensive but in retrospect I regret not getting it. In the long run anaerobic systems cost less to maintain and rarely fail.
