Unfortunately we had to make the humane decision a few days later to put her to sleep. Again, he came out and was so compassionate. Extremely Unprofessional and Disturbing Experience. Would Not Recommend. I had the mobile vet come to my home on 5/28/2025 to examine my cat and take her blood for a necessary medication refill. This was not our usual mobile vet, as they are no longer available in our area, and unfortunately, the experience was disturbing from beginning to end. The day before the appointment, I asked if a vet tech would be coming along. In past visits, the tech has always been the one to handle tasks like weighing the cat, taking blood, and checking her eyes. I was told yes, but during the visit, after everything had already been done, the vet casually said it was the tech's first day with him. I don't understand why my request was even acknowledged if the tech wasn't properly trained. That alone was very unprofessional. What happened during the exam was far worse. I've never seen an animal handled the way my cat was. She was scruffed so tightly that she was screaming in pain, making sounds I've never heard from her before. She was poked over 20 times across four legs, which all had to be shaved. In all her previous vet visits, blood has never taken more than one or maybe even two attempts from a single leg. I repeatedly asked them not to hold her so hard, but my concerns were brushed off with half-hearted apologies while they continued handling her the same way. As a result, my cat was left with scabbing on all four legs and was clearly in pain and distress afterward. I believe this was due to poor technique and a lack of skill in accessing a vein. On top of that, my cat was not weighed at all. She is on thyroid medication that depends on accurate weight for proper dosing. Instead of weighing her, the vet asked me to estimate her weight, which is something I'm not qualified to do. It was careless and concerning that such a basic step was skipped. After the visit, I told the vet that what happened was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. Rather than addressing my concerns, he dismissed them and insisted I was wrong in how I felt about the situation. To make everything even more uncomfortable, he asked to hug me at the end "because of the stress of the kitty." That request felt extremely inappropriate and left me feeling even more unsettled after what had just taken place. I was talked down to like I was some sort of child who can't handle their emotions. Truly disgusting. This was not just a disappointing visit. It was traumatizing to both me and my cat. She is still clearly shaken, in pain, and covered in scabs. I have never experienced anything like this with any vet before, and I hope this situation is reviewed. No pet should ever be treated this way. My cat is now passed and was taken care of by a mobile vet located in Plainfield to her very end. I would not wish my experience onto anyone else, especially now. read more

My 15 yr old dog went down hill suddenly and all other places were closed because it was after normal business hours on a Friday night. When I called Dr. Z, he was willing to come over as soon as he got done with another appointment. My family was apprehensive about putting the dog down so quickly so I ended up calling him and cancelling. He was so understanding and patient with me. The next morning it became obvious our dog was not going to approve so I text Dr. Z again. He responded immediately and came as soon as his schedule allowed. He was amazingly kind to my children, me, our sick dog and other dog. Such a gentle, loving soul. The experience was very peaceful for our dog. I've read a few "negative" reviews and I have to disagree. Dr Z is giving pet owners of scared animals an alternative to stressing out the animal by taking them to the vet. He is very good with communication and pretty much cutting to the chase. He is not emotionally vested with our fur babies so he's able to do the part we don't want to do like scruffing a cat or giving shots. What I will tell you is he will get down in the floor with me when I have my scared cat cornered under a bench to give her her shots because she runs and hides. He will block furniture and help to catch her. He wants to do the least amount of stressing out an animal as possible so if that means to scruff her and give her a shot as fast as possible, I'm ok with that. We all love our babies and we get emotional when they're in pain. He is there to help and every time I've called him he's done just that. I highly recommend Dr Z. read more

Not impressed at all! Had Dr. Z come to my home to do a routine check up and nail trim of my cat that can not be put into a carrier to be taken to a vet because he's too scared. Dr. Z made no attempt to befriend my Spooky for the entire hour he was here. When he arrived Spooky did approach him and was at his feet, but he never once bent down to introduce himself to him. He was unable to perform any check up, or administer any calming tranquilizer. But did manage to charge me $220 for the visit and some pills that I will have to administer on my own to sedate him so I can trim his nails myself! I would not recommend this vet for anything! Dr. Z was amazing! I called him at 11:30 on a Sunday. He showed up 30 minutes later. Our baby was running a very high fever and was extremely dehydrated. He gave her meds to break her fever and pain meds. He also gave her IV fluids. He was patient and made sure we knew what to do before he left. He also left is with a thermometer and an ice pack. He was able to take blood so we don't have to move her to get her to our regular vet tomorrow. I'm so thankful I found him! read more

I was nervous but looked up his credentials which all checked out and called him when my dog had to be put to sleep. My boy deserved to be at home and as comfortable as possible. Dr. Z was amazing and took his time with each step and followed my lead. He patiently waited while we all said goodbye. We have had many dogs and after many vets, especially after our favorite retired, we've been working with a big organization that is a walk in service. My 2 pups got into a fight and one was severely injured with a would on his chest, he wouldn't let me touch him plus he is 13 years old and has 2 torn ACLs in his back legs so getting him into the car was not going to be a option. I could write a far too lengthy, positive review for Doctor Z. He helped us 2 years ago when our 10-year-old old pup was diagnosed with unspecified liver disease. I had discovered him first about a year earlier, when another dog bit mine. He came on an emergency basis to treat him, and this process in our home was so much more pleasant (and no more expensive), than the Emergency Veterinary Hospital He was there every step of the way, including when we were out of town and Kookie fell ill while staying with my parents. He went to their house daily to provide IV fluids until we returned. As Kookie's need for treatment changed to a necessity for specialist, he continued to check-in in with me until the night that our angel finally passed. He even came to my home in the middle of the night to retrieve the remains. I had a regular Clinic vet who I trusted, but now that she has left the local practice, I decided to contact Dr. Z for annual checkups and vaccinations for my new dog and our two cats. Dr. Z is AWESOME. After moving to the area and leaving my longtime vet in California, I tried a local "newer" veterinary clinic for the last 6 months. They were outrageously priced and did not provide adequate care. On Monday, Dr Z came to my home - in the midst of the virus craziness - and provided INCREDIBLE care at a reasonable cost. My kitty was not doing well at all and today he is alert, eating well and actually interacting with the other pets again. He is going to have a long road ahead of him but he's got much better chances now thanks to Dr. Z. I feel that people may forgot that with all the fancy clinics out there, you can not replace experience. Dr. Z knew exactly what needed to be done without thousands of dollars of testing. He treated my kitty's oral infection with antibiotics- seems like a no brainer right? Nope - cuz the other vet told me I had to have very expensive dental work done on the kitty under sedation as the only fix to the situation. Meanwhile, she was content to let an infection fester and further harm my cat! Dr Z gave me an oral antibiotic and just 4 days later my cat no longer had bad breath and is chewing food again. The other vet said I had to do all these biopsies to determine if my kitty had IBD again under sedation- Dr Z put him on a low dose of the meds without a biopsy and kitty is doing much better. So in short - forget the fancy schmancy clinic and choose the doctor who legitimately knows and CARES about animals. Also, Dr Z texts and asks for updates on my pets and responded very quickly when I had a concern/question for him. We had our dog staying with Our Family Pet Sitting and he developed an infection. The team at Our Family indicated it had all the symptoms of Kennel Cough. Not saying it was. But to this day have not been told the diagnosis either by Dr. Z. DuPage Mobile said it was an upper respiratory infection. They prescribed and administered everything possible. Plasmalyte A injection, Baytril Injection, Doxycycline, Enrofloxacin, and Neomycin. We were our of country and when the bill was $500 and i cross referenced the costs of the meds. Dr. Z stated several times "this is what i charge for the meds" indicating that he knew he was marking them up as well. For example the Enrofloxacin is normally $3 per tab and i was charged double. Every med is marked up. When on the phone with him he was beyond unprofessional. To have the attitude and state this is what i charge knowing the markup is inconsiderate of any compassion. To prescribe all the common drugs as a shotgun approach is again not what a good vet does. Needless to say, Our Family Pet has indicated they will not be using Dr. Z going forward and its not the first time they have heard complaints. Pet owners beware and look at your invoice closely. I wish I could give Dr. Zariffard TEN stars!! My dog was bitten pretty severely by another dog on a Saturday evening around 6 PM. I was about 40 miles from my house. While driving home I was contacting emergency vets and all had a wait time of between 2-7 hours. I wanted to find a place close to my house in case it was going to be an overnight situation. I found Dupage Mobile Veterinary Services. Dr. Zariffard answered immediately. He was very reassuring, told me everything was going to be okay (I was freaking out), told me he would meet me at my house. He actually got there a few minutes before I did. I laid a moving blanket on the floor of the garage and he went to work -- shaving, cleaning, sterilizing, staples, injections for pain and antibiotics, and scrips for the next two weeks. He is truly the loveliest man. He texted the next day to make sure my pup was on the mend. He'll be coming back in about ten days to remove the stitches. Considering that it has been nearly impossible to get an appointment at my regular vet for routine care this past year, I will definitely be switching to Dr. Z!! read more
