I immediately drove it to the dealership, praying it would be something easy to fix. They called me early last week and told me that 3 of the piston rods were damaged, amounting to a repair upwards of $5k. Luckily the repair was covered by what they called and extended warranty on prominent issues with this vehicle's make, model and year. The extended warranty, which was closed last year, was reopened for a limited period of time - and extended to additional years, makes and models. While in the engine, they noticed that a coil had also been damaged - because they had record of the work being done at Williamsburg Honda, they also replaced that for free. I have always been told not to go to dealerships because they inflate the prices and charge for things you don't need - however, I am convinced that the loyalty and willingness to keep my van serviced with them resulted in this repair being 100% covered. For me, I will always take my Hondas to Williamsburg Honda, but if you are like me and you are unsure, I wanted to share this testimonial especially since the holidays are approaching - we can use all the love, care and customer service we can get and I am beyond grateful for this.

I have lived in St. Mary's County for over 15 years and drive by Tom Hodges car dealership almost…read moreevery day, and until yesterday I had never actually visited. I contacted the dealership with interest in a used Subaru Outback. After speaking to representative, I received a call from the owner, Tom, shortly after. The discussion was friendly and honest. Tom was genuinely interested in making sure I was satisfied with the vehicle. I arranged a meeting the next day to come take a look at the car. Long story short, I ended up purchasing the vehicle with what was easily the best car buying experience I have ever had. Typically, negotiating the price of the car is a strenuous and unenjoyable experience. Working with Becca, Jeremiah, and Tom, we were able to come to a very fair price without the unnecessary back and forth. Not often do you feel that a car dealership is being fair in their pricing, but they were at Tom Hodges. The transaction was quick, the staff extremely helpful from the sales team to the admin folks, and most importantly, the pricing very reasonable. Not only will I be purchasing future vehicles from Tom Hodges, but I will also be getting my Outback serviced there as well. Next time you are in the market for a used car, give them a try. Enjoy a much smoother transaction than most of the other dealerships in the area.

Unfortunately, it took a couple months for a proper diagnosis. The smell continued to get worse and worse, and made the vehicle unsafe and on a drivable for my four children and my wife, I reached out to the owner asking if he would cover the expenses because if I would have test driven that car in person I would've never purchased a car. There was always an excuse. I guess a lesson learned. Even a small town dealership that's been established for a long time. Doesn't have much empathy for an out-of-state purchaser. So $790 later, at least the issue was fixed and my children are saved and not getting exhaust blown into them through the vents while they're in the backseat I guess there was a reason why I was never offered a warranty until many emails later that I kept requesting it((all-time stamped and documented)

I waited all day and got a call that they were not going to be able to get to the vehicle. This pretty much wasted my entire day. This morning I got up at 5 AM to be first in line for their 730 opening to get my oil change and filter which I have been doing for the last 13 years. The representative said, "Do you have an 'appointment'?" I said, I've never had an appointment in 13 years for oil change, and filter." She said, "Well, now you need an appointment, but we'll 'try' to fit you in." She said, "I can't guarantee we'll get you in." She also said, "Since you have a recall, we can't do your service unless you have the recall done first." I went to talk to the guy that I have been dealing with for years complaining about this and reminding him that I had an appointment last week that wasn't honored. Even though everyone else I talked to used the term "appointment", he dutifully held the new management line and said, It's not an appointment. It's a "check in time." This is total BS. Everyone on earth knows what an appointment means. It does not mean come on over and maybe we'll get to you and maybe we won't. After 13 years, they have gotten my last dollar.
