During my search for someplace new, I stubbled on the BlueHen Chefs' Yelp page. I was a little hesitant to talk to them, but scheduled a call anyway. They are fantastic! Soooo, easy to talk to and they LISTENED to what I wanted. The whole list of what my mom doesn't like, lol, and the bucket list dishes she wanted to try. They sent me a sample menu that looked good and I tweaked it a bit and added more courses. The result was a once in a lifetime meal for Mother's Day. Every dish was better than the one before it! I travel a lot and have tried many, many different things. I was blown away by how good everything was. We had a very eclectic menu that I thought would be challenging, but they had no problem. I can say that their crab cakes were better than I've had in Baltimore, their lobster risotto was better than Gordon Ramsey Steak, and their key lime pie was better than in the Florida Keys! The portion sizes were just right, too. Overall, I couldn't be any happier that I took the first step and talked to them. I can't express enough how good the food was and how comfortable they are to have in your home. They made my mother feel like a queen for a day. P.S. I will go ahead and purchase the ingredients a couple of days before your dinner. That way, I am able to prep some of the things that will take longer. You can just reimburse me the food cost the night of your dinner. Cash is best! At our stations, a lot of the prep work and measuring of ingredients was already done for us. This taught me a lot about prep work and successful cooking.
