Not much to expect here I suppose (connected to a gas station) but the cashier/customer service is lackluster and unfortunately rude

What a great place! I was in town for work and picked this restaurant because it had the highest…read morerating on Yelp. I can see why! It's a cute place, decorated with many cool paintings, I took pictures of a few. It's like a little Italian bistro inside. My waitress was super sweet and attentive. The menu is robust. There were many items I would want to try, but given my limited time I went with the chicken Caesar salad. It was a perfect lunch portion and the chicken was lightly blackened. It was so tasty! I also ordered their bread basket, which was two pieces of grilled bread. It was a perfect side for the salad. I enjoyed it so much I plan to eat here again the next time I'm in town for work.

The first thing that strikes me was the many great options on the menu. You know the feeling, when there are as many as three entrees you can't decide on that appeal to you. That's a sign of a top notch restaurant. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. I wish I could have ordered this as an entree it was that good. I went with the Ribeye French dip sandwich. It was quite good with a hearty amount of slim sliced ribeye and au jus that I wanted to dip my napkin in and eat it. The service was outstanding as our server took care of each of our orders.

This is another WB business that disappoints. The pizza is ok but the service is terrible. I want…read moreto like it because I like the interior decor (lots of cool taxidermy mounts) but I've walked out multiple Times waiting for someone to serve me.

In my previous review the main issue was the inconsistency of the pizza, major price increases, and…read morethe cumbersome online ordering system. Fast forward to today. Because of the confusing online ordering system, I have been placing my orders by phone. Yesterday I called to place an order only to find out there is no longer an actual human answering the phone. G's has installed an AI generated voice system to take your order. If you want make any changes to your pizza outside of what is listed for that pizza on the menu, the AI voice tells you it can't make the change. Example: On our pizza we eliminate shredded mozzarella cheese, and get extra fresh mozzarella. When I asked for this, I was told by the AI voice that can't be done. After repeated requests to talk to a human, someone finally picked up the phone to take my order. When I told them what happened, they said they would have to make some adjustments to the system. Also, the quality hasn't changed either. We ordered a meat lovers pizza. Now, knowing that there is a lot of grease, especially in the pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, you would know to make the bottom crust thicker than normal. The bottom crust our pizza was paper thin. The grease from all the meat saturated the crust, the paper liner and the bottom of the box. The crust was so soggy, we could not pick up a piece to eat it. We had to use a knife and fork to eat it. Really G's, are you serious? Your not a corporate owned chain restaurant, you're a family owned business with great success. West Branch is not some big city major metropolis. This is rural small town America in Northern Michigan, population 2100. A place where you know your neighbors and local business owners. A place that tourists come, to leave the stress of big city life for a while. I don't understand why there is such a big push in this country to replace human contact with technology. Technology has it's place, however, it is small towns like ours all across this country that have the quality of small town life. Do we really want to change that just to be stylish?

I had seen good reviews about this establishment and they did not disappoint. We enjoyed 2 appetizers of "sandbaggers tots" which were more then enough for 8 people to share. Everyone enjoyed their entrees from BBQ chicken flatbread to a massive prime rib dip. Excellent price points for everything we had. Flat top seating with a full bar. Craft beer available with frosted glasses. Clean restroom. Good service with friendly staff. Located within the West Branch Country Club. I would definitely return when back in the area.

Now to the Wisconsin bbq chicken sandwich. in my opinion, dunking a chicken breast in bbq sauce, and calling it a day to me is lazy, I think that if your gonna make a bbq chicken sandwich I rather wish it be smoked and the lightly using bbq sauce not over saturating it. The fries were crunchy and delicious and right amount of salt. The cheese curds were nice and delicious with the marinara. Plus on this sandwich I'd like lettuce, tomato, pickles and instead of provolone give me Swiss. Overall I liked my meal I just make these improvements to the sandwich and it be a solid 10/10 but this over all is like a 7/10 or in this yelp reviews case a 3 out of 5.
