Be warned. If you want good service you have to pay for it. if you don't give a tip they are very rude.

Fortunately I was in a group and we were able to split a half dozen donuts so that we could try a few different flavors. My favorite was the canoli and the Nutella maple. The flavors rotate and I believe they have a few staple flavors that are offered all the time. I did not try out a drink but a few people in my group said their iced drinks were good.

Donerds Donuts is a locally owned small business that's well worth a stop when you're visiting Jim Thorpe. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. The storefront is charming, welcoming, and has a few seats where you can relax and enjoy your treats with a fresh cup of coffee. Best of all, everything is made fresh on-site. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering. I had to show some self-control or I would've walked out with half the display case! She was fantastic. If you're spending the day in Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Donerds Donuts. Grab a coffee, treat yourself to one (or a few) fresh donuts, say hello to Sarah, and support a wonderful local business. I know I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

A few months ago, I was innocently scrolling social media when Parlor Doughnuts popped into my…read morefeed. One look at their menu full of sweet AND savory doughnuts and I was immediately hooked. This wasn't going to be one of those "if I'm ever nearby" places. This was going to become the destination. Fast forward to my Lancaster Adventure Day and Parlor Doughnuts was a no-brainer stop. I pulled into the shopping center around noon on a Thursday and found plenty of parking. Walking inside, I was surprised by how much seating they had. There were only a handful of people there when I visited, but I could absolutely picture this place packed on a Saturday morning with folks lingering over doughnuts and coffee. Despite studying the menu for weeks before my visit, I still stood there staring at it like I'd never seen it before. Sweet? Savory? Sweet? Savory? I desperately wanted one of each, but the Responsible Adult side of me stepped in and reminded me that eating two giant doughnuts before lunch was probably a questionable life choice. She was right...this time. I decided to start with one of their best sellers, the French Toast Doughnut. If I loved it, I'd have the perfect excuse to come back. While I waited, I also spotted Parlor Doughnuts patches for sale. Listen...I have a weakness for quirky souvenirs. Naturally, one came home with me. A few minutes later my doughnut was boxed up and, patch in hand, I settled in at one of the tables. The total came to just under $10, and this thing was BEAUTIFUL! It stood nearly three inches tall, covered in glaze and cinnamon sugar and looked almost too pretty to eat. Almost. That first bite completely exceeded every expectation I'd built up over the previous few months. Parlor's famous layered dough really is unlike any doughnut I've ever had. It was flaky around the edges, soft in the middle and somehow substantial without being heavy. The French toast flavors were spot on and every bite was just as good as the one before it. I actually caught myself slowing down because I didn't want it to be over. The doughnuts are definitely more expensive than your average doughnut shop, but they're also in an entirely different league. I honestly couldn't have eaten a second one even if someone had offered it to me for free. One was plenty, and it kept me full for most of the afternoon, which made the price feel completely reasonable. PRO TIP: Spend a couple minutes looking at the menu before you go. They offer everything from sweet layered doughnuts to savory options, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and espresso drinks. Having a game plan might save you from standing at the counter having the exact same internal crisis I did. I've already decided what I'm ordering next time. The Pig & Fig. I came incredibly close to ordering it this visit, and it's absolutely happening the next time I'm in Lancaster. Honestly, it's probably a very good thing the closest Parlor Doughnuts is about an hour from my house. Otherwise, I'd be making entirely too many "quick trips" for doughnuts. Highly recommend making Parlor Doughnuts the destination, not just a stop along the way. It's one of those places that's absolutely worth planning your day around!

Donuts are fresh here. Staff might be a bit slow but are nice. Would recommend telling people…read morethey will get with us when they can. I know that can be hard to coordinate in the moment. The vibe is here is much more casual than Berwyn but maybe it felt that way because I went on. Berwyn's first day. Also, Berwyn is probably a busier area than here overall although this place being along the pike is not too bad. This sausage biscuit hits different and isn't bad.
