This place sucks right now. I love subway don't get me wrong…read morebut this one? I usually get my subs toasted so that cheese and chicken can melt nicely. Somehow the chicken was frozen stiff and felt like i was biting into a snowball. The service was, something. The lady there felt like she only knew the menus words but no other bits of english. She was ok, but she was also very fast and was in a huge rush. (Despite only me ordering) And by fast i mean she was quick with words and would instantly interrupt you if you didn't answer fast enough. All in all id give it a 1/5 (Since i cant do 0/5)

One word: WOOF…read more While driving back from Northern Wisconsin to Indianapolis, we were very hungry and thought we would pull-off the highway to go culvers. Once we saw that Culver's was packed and hopping during the lunch hour, we thought it would be quicker to go to the vacant subway that had zero cars parked in the lot. We should have been suspicious and practiced some critical thinking skills, but instead we went in for lunch. There were two young women working who were difficult to communicate with (they spoke in whispered tones). Also, there was no one in the restaurant and yet it took a long time before someone attended to us. Likewise, my partner's sandwich was supposed to be toasted but his teriyaki chicken was cold in the middle--yuck. My sandwich tasted like a Subway sandwich. We definitely should have gone to the Culver's next door :(

Bang for buck one of the best places in that area!…read more It's in Franksville. So there isn't much competition but Dons is a great place to grab a bite. We use to come here for lunch back in high school. It was cheap, filling, and most importantly good!! At that time you got a whole friggin bagful of fries for a buck to go with your sandwich or meal. The sandwiches are good. Pick your bread, meats, cheese(s), veggies, and dressing. It's like subway only fresh, better, and made by someone who looks like your mom :) They will also grill up a fresh chicken breast for you If that's your decision. I often ordered this in h.s. As a change up from my all meats carnivore sandwich. Now that we're older we can drink in the bar and it makes the fish fry more enticing. It's usually pretty busy on fish fry Friday. I also remember them having bluegill available which is on of my preferred fish choices. This place is totally worthy of a try if you are in the area

The name is a misnomer. It is a bar and restaurant. I was told they have a tremendous Friday Fish…read moreFry. Soooo, checked it out. Yikes! The fish menu is extensive: perch, blue gill, cod, shrimp, haddock. It comes fairly well seasoned. There is a choice of potato, slaw, and you can go to the bread and salad bar. The bread consists of rolls, white bread, wheat and rye. The salad bar is potato salad, tuna and pasta salad, slaw, radishes, celery and carrots. Don's attracts a lot of people. And the problem begins because it is free for all seating. This is very uncomfortable since customers are lined up around the restaurant like vultures ready to pounce once you get up from the table. It is also a SMOKING joint, so expect to come out smelling like fresh, stale cigarettes. The fish was pretty good, the potatoes were acceptable, but the ambiance, crowd and smoking brings it way down. Don's offers a steak night on Saturday. I would try it but the smoke is off putting. Two girls behind me had a big pizza (half peperoni, half sausage) and said they always come here for the pizza. The menu offers pizza, subs, and other items, but on Friday night it is almost universally about the fish.

Great stop here again the other day! We've been here a few times for mid week lunches and this was…read morethe busiest we have ever seen it. Thankfully, their back covered (and heated) patio was open for additional seating. We opted for tacos and egg rolls for lunch and the portions were sizable. The beer and wine were what you expected and $6 and $7 respectively. They don't have a beer menu but the servers know the rundown well. They do charge a bit more for using a card so maybe bring cash if that bothers you. The steak tacos were legit. Great salsas with them. The chips were pretty great so wasn't a huge fan of those. Heard the egg roll was delicious and a lot packed in there. Srrvice was great, even while it was busy. Will definitely be back.

My family and I were heading south from Milwaukee on a Friday night and I wanted to pick up a fish…read morefry along the way. Joey's West is a place I had bookmarked and wasn't super far off the highway, so we called in an order to go. I got the lake perch with fries and the rest of my family got plain cheeseburgers with fries. We also got an order of cheese curds to share. Both the cheese curds and the lake perch tasted like the oil they were cooked in hadn't been changed in weeks. It kind of had a burned taste to it. Additionally, the cheese curds were maybe the greasiest ones I've ever had. Both were unappetizing. The burgers seems like they were hand pattied, which is a plus, but were heavily seasoned with something like McCormick steak seasoning. Ironically, the fries had no seasoning or salt on them and could have definitely used some. To a lesser extent I could taste the burned oil on the fries too.
