I came here on 7/8/2017 at 6:02:34AM Order 302 Manish P. Was the person working the drive thru. He was rude and his had no rush to his service as all. He was not friendly. I read the reviews about this place and I should have listen. I order a Hot Latte and receive a cold. I told him I didn't want this he said that is what I want and he wouldn't change it. However he was going to try to charge me for the Hot I originally wanted on top of the cold he card and I had already paid for. The food I got was cold and tastes weird, uncooked and like rubber. This place need to be audited and employees heavily evaluated. I will rather go to Tim Hortons or Starbucks from now on

Fortunately I was in a group and we were able to split a half dozen donuts so that we could try a few different flavors. My favorite was the canoli and the Nutella maple. The flavors rotate and I believe they have a few staple flavors that are offered all the time. I did not try out a drink but a few people in my group said their iced drinks were good.

Donerds Donuts is a locally owned small business that's well worth a stop when you're visiting Jim Thorpe. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. The storefront is charming, welcoming, and has a few seats where you can relax and enjoy your treats with a fresh cup of coffee. Best of all, everything is made fresh on-site. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering. I had to show some self-control or I would've walked out with half the display case! She was fantastic. If you're spending the day in Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Donerds Donuts. Grab a coffee, treat yourself to one (or a few) fresh donuts, say hello to Sarah, and support a wonderful local business. I know I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

Such was the case when I visited the newly opened Curry Donuts in the 220 shopping plaza. I realize that it is new and am writing this in hopes of having a better experience in the future. The order was simple: A dozen doughnuts and a small coffee. I have eaten at several other Curry Donuts' in the past and was always satisfied with both service and quality of food. Lets start with the Donuts. It is a small town donut shop, but the selection was poor at best. The selection that existed lacked the staples that I expect to see in any run of the mill doughnut joint. Glazed. Cream filled. Bavarian Cream. Chocolate dipped. Not to mention old favorites that keep me going back to Curry Donuts like Apple Fritters and Boston Crème. There was not a Krueller to be seen. So we pieced together a dozen of what was available. A couple chocolate cake doughnuts, Strawberry and Blueberry filled and some other miscellaneous pastries to be on our way. All that was left was the coffee. In my opinion a Curry Donut Coffee surpasses even famed rivals Dunkin' Donuts' ever popular dark brew. I took a sip. Ice Cold and Old. That ruined it for me before ever getting a pastry anywhere near my mouth. When I got home I found scrawny, missha pen Doughnuts. Most were dry and stale. A "Cinnamon Swirl" that tasted like it was made without sugar with ablolutely NO glaze on it. The usual Elliptical, pillowy concoctions I am used to were replaced by spherical (no kidding, some of them were actually shaped like baseballs!). I feel that pretty much sums up my experience. The service was barely attentive and disinterested, but not "bad" per se. I hope that my next visit brings a more pleasurable experience, as I look forward to getting a good, quality cup of Joe and a couple of my favorite doughnuts in the morning, rather than gas station fare.
