The breakfast croissants are made daily and they do not disappoint. They're buttery, flaky and depending on which one you get, so cheesy! I'm also a sucker for the brownies and cookies because who wouldn't be?! The service is absolutely amazing and always so welcoming when I stop by. I can't say enough good things about The Avenue Cafe!

I had this place bookmarked for a…read morewhile now but because of the cold weather lately and parking being extremely limited in this area, I didn't get a chance to check it out until this week. Jamaica Ave is known to locals of Jamaica Queens as "The Ave" so I thought that naming this place "The Avenue Cafe" was a really nice touch. The Avenue Cafe is definitely a hidden gem. I believe the small number of reviews is primarily due to its location. Tucked away in a food court which could only be accessed through an alley on Jamaica Ave or a side street (160th St), this cafe was not easy to find. Although the food court it is located in is no-frills, The Avenue Cafe actually put effort in establishing an inviting aesthetic that made me feel no different than if I were walking in my usual cafes in the city and I really liked that. The staff were courteous and they make your order quick! Best of all, they take card and Apple Pay (I didn't have cash on me that day and I was aware that just about every stall in that food court is Cash-Only). I only had their cold brew thus far but I'll absolutely be back to try the other items on the menu.

You can order ahead and pick up at the window and there is a parking lot. Easy access too and from traffic. I did a mobile order and there was a slight wait but the young ladies attending the window were extremely attentive and folks were parked up in their cars waiting patiently. My drink was perfect. 5/5 I would highly recommend. (Not on Uber eats yet)

For my most recent order, a family member ordered me two brownies and was going to drop off one for me and one for another family member. I specifically asked my family member to tell Starbucks not to warm the brownies and I heard my family member tell them not to warm them up, while on the phone with him. We were going to warm them up ourselves at home later on the evening. When the brownies got delivered they were both already warmed. I wasn't thrilled about it but decided to just eat my brownie since it was already warmed. The brownie on one side had white crumbs all over it from some other item. I decided to brush them off and go ahead with eating the brownie. I took one bite and it tasted like burnt egg. I rotated the brownie and took another bite and realized there were crunchy particles in the brownie. I've never experienced crunchy particles while eating a Starbucks brownie and I was concerned what was inside of it. I flipped the brownie over to find tons of sesame seeds all over the bottom of the brownie. Since the brownie was warmed in the oven, the sesame seeds were pressed into the bottom of the brownie. I did not enjoy this experience at all and I will not be ordering food or bakery items from them again at this location.

There were lots of people just on their laptops enjoying a drink or pastry. I tried a pot of the Azal Signature and it was a little sweeter than I liked. The sesame seeds added a nice nutty kick to it. I also got the Pistachio Waffle, which was a bit disappointing because it wasn't as light and fluffy as I would've liked it. It was a bit tough to cut through and eat. The place is very Instagrammable--there's even a fake tree right in the middle of the café--but personally, I think I prefer just a normal café with regular coffee. Azal Signature (roast coffee, coffee husks, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, sesame, and cream) 8/10 Pistachio Waffle 6/10

Sucks that nothing is labeled & doesn't have the ingredients listed, so we'd know what to order & what to avoid. 2/5 Pistachio milkshake- they ran outta pistachio the 1st time I went, so they gave me an extremely sweet, plain milkshake 2/5 Raspberry tart- Prolly the worst I've ever had, too thick & too sweet. I was expecting a tart like the ones from Korean bakeries like PB or Tous les jours, what is this? 2/5 pear & orange- both are disgustingly sweet due to the white chocolate shell, wouldn't have gotten it if I knew it was white chocolate, interior is fine, creamy & mousse, there's fruit in the middle 4/5 Strawberry- really good, soft exterior, not white chocolate thank God 2/5 pistachio NY roll $6- made the mistake of ordering this on the machine, didn't expect a croissant, thought it was gonna be like a Swiss roll, pistachio icicing? Butter? On top is disgustingly sweet 4/5 Iced banana bread breve latte $8 w/ whipped cream- idk if this is banana bread flavored but it def is banana flavored, nice & strong 5/5 pesto tomato cheese danish $8- love anything with pesto & cheese, so damn good
