The breakfast croissants are made daily and they do not disappoint. They're buttery, flaky and depending on which one you get, so cheesy! I'm also a sucker for the brownies and cookies because who wouldn't be?! The service is absolutely amazing and always so welcoming when I stop by. I can't say enough good things about The Avenue Cafe!

Jamaica Ave is known to locals of Jamaica Queens as "The Ave" so I thought that naming this place "The Avenue Cafe" was a really nice touch. The Avenue Cafe is definitely a hidden gem. I believe the small number of reviews is primarily due to its location. Tucked away in a food court which could only be accessed through an alley on Jamaica Ave or a side street (160th St), this cafe was not easy to find. Although the food court it is located in is no-frills, The Avenue Cafe actually put effort in establishing an inviting aesthetic that made me feel no different than if I were walking in my usual cafes in the city and I really liked that. The staff were courteous and they make your order quick! Best of all, they take card and Apple Pay (I didn't have cash on me that day and I was aware that just about every stall in that food court is Cash-Only). I only had their cold brew thus far but I'll absolutely be back to try the other items on the menu.

Taste of Paris is not actually that bad. But it is pretty weird. The vibe is less Parisian cafe than hostile architecture. For one thing, there's a hole in the ceiling. It is not small. It's basically an entire missing ceiling tile. Like, there may be some kind of repair project or remodel going on? For another thing, it's rather dark for a coffee shop. It's dimly lit with very little natural light. And the walls seem green screen ready. Jarringly sparse but would make a great Teams background. All that said, the coffee is decent. I ordered off menu. A flat white, no sugar, no syrup. And it was solid. Which, in sum, leaves me at three stars. Two or below if you're drinking in, but maybe four if you're grabbing to go.

Small shop, big payoff -- quick, clean, and the drinks come out looking like they belong in a photoshoot (the can-style iced coffees are a vibe). Gov's take: the Crème Brûlée Latte is the star. Smooth, dessert-like without being sugary, and it keeps that espresso backbone. The iced coffee/cold brew is strong, cold, and actually tastes like coffee (not melted ice and regret). Menu is easy to scan and they've got a solid lineup of flavors, plus grab-and-go energy that's perfect when you're passing through Hillside. Only knock: it's tight inside and parking can be annoying depending on the time. Rating: 4.5/5 -- I'm coming back, and I'm bringing a friend who "doesn't like coffee."

You can order ahead and pick up at the window and there is a parking lot. Easy access too and from traffic. I did a mobile order and there was a slight wait but the young ladies attending the window were extremely attentive and folks were parked up in their cars waiting patiently. My drink was perfect. 5/5 I would highly recommend. (Not on Uber eats yet)

For my most recent order, a family member ordered me two brownies and was going to drop off one for me and one for another family member. I specifically asked my family member to tell Starbucks not to warm the brownies and I heard my family member tell them not to warm them up, while on the phone with him. We were going to warm them up ourselves at home later on the evening. When the brownies got delivered they were both already warmed. I wasn't thrilled about it but decided to just eat my brownie since it was already warmed. The brownie on one side had white crumbs all over it from some other item. I decided to brush them off and go ahead with eating the brownie. I took one bite and it tasted like burnt egg. I rotated the brownie and took another bite and realized there were crunchy particles in the brownie. I've never experienced crunchy particles while eating a Starbucks brownie and I was concerned what was inside of it. I flipped the brownie over to find tons of sesame seeds all over the bottom of the brownie. Since the brownie was warmed in the oven, the sesame seeds were pressed into the bottom of the brownie. I did not enjoy this experience at all and I will not be ordering food or bakery items from them again at this location.

It's easily accessible right by the subway and the LIRR is very close by. Since it was private they ordered their food which was mostly pastries with various flavors/toppings. I wanted savory since it was dinner time so I opted for I think a red pepper pastry which was yummy! My friend actually bought their pastries. One was a mango dessert with white chocolate outer shell and mango mousse. It was good but a bit sweet due to white chocolate and the cream inside was rich and creamy mango flavored. I am watching my sugar intake so just had a bite to try. The other was a pistachio Dubai mousse and oh my! It was amazing! I definitely am returning for this. Also they served chai which I tried a little. And tea but I was afraid to try the tea bc I am very sensitive to caffeine which causes me to have a hard time falling asleep so I opted out. Private event but service wasn't bad. Just wondered why there wasn't water for the guests if they couldn't drink tea/chai.
