Park & Elm - Dining Room Feature

While randomly looking for places to try out on a Friday night up north, I stumbled upon Park and…read moreElm. The menu looked fantastic and it was easy to make a reservation online a few days out. Come hungry! The portion sizes are giant and the flavor is amazing! Our server was super attentive to us and was on top of getting what we needed/asked for. While it did take a bit longer than normal for our entrees to come out, it was worth the wait! The lamb shank fell right off the bone, no knife required. The steak was cooked to the requested temperature and had great flavor. And they were great at accommodating a side substitute on the NY Strip dish. Then dessert. The German Chocolate Cake was phenomenal! So moist and the frosting was just the right amount and not overly sweet! It's definitely a place I'd recommend and can't wait to go back to!

Hi, wanted to share this eye opening experience. Went last week to get 2 gift cards and was told…read morethey were out of cards and to come back next Tuesday. I went in tonight, Tuesday, to buy 2 $100 gift cards for Christmas gifts and was told they have been out of gift cards for two weeks and will not have gift cards until January 5th and that I can go online and that I can print a piece of paper with my $100 gift on it...? I explained that this was a Christmas gift and that I would like something other than an 11x13 piece of paper with a dollar amount on it that someone could open as a nice gift. They couldn't help me. (Everyone knows Staples can print such cards in a pinch). I thanked them and said that I would try another local restaurant, the reply was "good luck". Good luck, not apologetic and Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.....just good luck. How sad that the fabric of society has been reduced to this........ I did go to another restaurant down the street and bought the gift certificates from a very gracious bar tender, who I happily tipped and exchanged Christmas greetings. Looking forward to a nice meal and old school charm elsewhere.

I can't even explain how happy I am that we checked it out. Everything was a home run from walking in to a friendly environment to seriously excellent food and service. I got full on appetizers, which included the pretzels, wings and a very generous portion of cheesy dip. Those that had the French onion soup loved it. One of the specials was filet mignon served over rice and veggies. My mom ordered that and she raved about it. The chicken parm is literally the largest portion I've ever seen. It's HUGE. I tasted a small bite of it...it's the real deal. The sauce tasted like it could've come from a place near Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. My folks took home those leftovers and had at least 3-4 meals!! Dessert was yummy. I really can't fault anything here. I'll be back and we highly recommend.

I cannot express how absolutely amazing our experience here was last week. Everything about this…read moreplace is top-notch. My husband and I stopped by on a Thursday night and were pleasantly surprised to find the dining room full. No matter; we moved to the next room to wait and explore. There is so much opportunity for expansion! The 2nd room has a pool table (coin operated) and games, as well as a nice outdoor area I hope they develop further for warm weather activities. Our wait was less than 10 minutes. Once seated, our wonderful waiter Dan stopped by. He was kind enough to give us a few minutes to chat with friends who walked in and returned to take our order. Service was amazing! He was present, pleasant, and friendly while giving us space to enjoy the food. If you visit, make sure to ask for him. The dining area is comfortable with tables separated enough so that you don't feel you are having dinner with strangers. There is a nice bar (and they now have a full liquor license too!) to sit at if that is your speed. Finally, the food - the unbelievably delicious, I can't believe how big these portions are food. I started with the French Onion Soup; there were social media pics I couldn't ignore. The broth was hearty and rich, with lots of different flavors coming through. Cheese pull was perfect, too. One of - or maybe the best - French Onion Soup I have had. Maybe the addition of bone broth makes a difference? I am unsure what other restaurants use this ingredient, but it is listed on the menu here. The birria grilled cheese was an instant winner for me. Great flavor, tender meat, and a flavorful dipping consomme. Onion rings were thin and crispy. And, extra bonus, they didn't cost any more! Many places have a set side (usually fries) and have an upcharge for anything different. Here, you can choose from 4 options (even a healthier side salad option) with no price difference. I am not a rib person, but I was curious to try them, mostly for the bbq sauce. Husband pronounced them very good. I personally don't have a lot to compare to, but the meat was fall off the bone tender, and the bbq sauce was absolutely amazing; I literally want to dip everything and anything in it. (Onion rings were great dipped in it.) Both the mac and cheese and baked beans were huge portions for "sides," and we, in fact, took most of them home. We didn't really have room for dessert, but the sticky toffee cake couldn't be passed up. It arrived warm with vanilla ice cream, and I have zero regrets about overeating. The prices are pretty awesome, too. All of this really delicious and homemade food for $65 with tax and before tip. 100% recommend making a stop here soon. I promise you'll thank me. Check out their Facebook page, too; they are very active and post specials regularly.

But note... if you have a sign that says...please wait to be seated...make sure someone is there. So... this is the old court house. Grew up in this village so very familiar with the building. They have a couple of bars and seating areas. They left the nostalgia which is awesome. I started with an old fashioned. Not bad... I've have better and I've had worse. This is edging towards the better... another words no fruit cocktail in my glass. Picture posted. It seems the bartender is the hostess and waitress tonight....a saturday... although to their defense in our area it is Travers weekend.. meaning everyone is in saratoga today for the HUGE horse race. I ordered the rib eye... med rare with au graton potatoes. Haven't had au graton in so long.. they offer tons of sides. So as i look around... 3 4 tops and like 4 2 tops .. and just me at the bar. Everyone is happy... enjoying their meal...yes..im that guy... I asked a couple of people for their honest opinion. No one had anything negative...and amazing plus! Okay... let's talk main dish... astrteicly eh... see pic... flavor, taste, tenderness...OMG completely worth it! The rib eye pops with flavor with just salt and pepper... not sure where the butter (per the menu) comes in. Potatoes Au gratan... so sorry I've missed you this long... cheese and flavorful. Asparagus... awesome...small snap in the bite..cheese just adds that hint of saltiness. Not a dessert guy...sorry. but would totally say try this place out. Reservations suggested... maybe if it wasn't Travers weekend that might be an actual thing... hey if they take them...which is rare for most places... do it.
