Don't let the name fool you. DD is all about the coffee. Don't get me wrong. The donuts and Munchkins are pretty good too. The sandwiches and bagels aren't much to get excited about. The coffee, however, is amazing and worthy of all 5 stars. The staff at this location is friendly and efficient. The inside always seems to be clean and in good order. Most of the time, they have everything in stock. They also have a great rewards program and this week they had customer appreciation week where the coffee was free all week! Hard to beat that. Let me start off by saying, the staff is not the issue here, they were clearly understaffed, two people working mid morning afternoon on a Sunday. Waited in drive through line for 50 minutes just to get a luke warm coffee and cold soggy food. I was unable to cancel the mobile order as soon as I saw the line because this is not a first time experience. I would just say if you're in a hurry, don't stop at this dunks. read more

A shiny new store that hasn't been open long. I hate Dodge Street because there is too much traffic for the design of the road, which means DD has a perfect location! Eastbounders, on their way to downtown for work, have easy access to get in and out for donuts and DD's coffee. DD's coffee, by the way, is loved by a lot of people. I don't happen to be one of them, I find the flavor a little off, but that's my personal taste. Not to mention, DD is one of the last places that offers a French Cruller that is made with enough eggs and enough air holes in it to make it tasteful and light. Since moving to the Chicago area and experiencing the greatness that is Dunkin' Donuts, I've been a little sad when I couldn't get my fix when I was back in Iowa. This Dunkin' location fixed that. I was in Dubuque on a Saturday morning and couldn't resist stopping by since I was right next door at Milroy's Tuxedos. Of course, it was easy to convince my fiance to go since he loves donuts. The parking lot is set up kind of funny with the drive-thru but there were plenty of spots available. The driveway is right after the turn from the stoplight so make sure you know where you are going. The employee was very friendly and did a good job taking our order. We both got iced coffees which is my favorite drink at DD. They were awesome and the donuts were delicious too.. I'll be back the next time I'm in Dubuque! read more

The coffee I had tasted worse than mud. Very strong and bitter. But the donuts were awesome! Which took me by surprise. After all I originally came here for the coffee. The place was kept clean. Oh. My. God. This dunkin just made mine and my partner's day! We pulled up to the drive thru and were welcomed with such a bright personality and a warm felt "Welcome to dunkin, what are you drinkiiiiiinnnnggggg?!" My partner goes "I want a medium iced coffee with buttercream" (very confidently). I was like it's butter pecan. He said "yeah that" Elsa's response was "do you want cream and sugar?" But you could tell she was laughing because well who wouldn't. It was so pleasant to get that feeling through a drive thru. Elsa definitely threw us off with how awesome she was through the speaker of the drive thru. You can tell she really cares about her job and customers that come through. She was very polite through our order. When we pulled up to the window we went to pay with Apple Pay and she accidentally closed it. So we got it back open for her and we were laughing with her about it. We were just having a really good time with her, even though it was just a few minutes. She even jokingly asked if we could adopt her because she loved us, which means we definitely helped make her day too. And we said of course we would adopt her as long as she likes dogs because we got 3 of them. She said she does and then asked if we were together and we said of course and she wished us happy pride! She definitely made a great impression on us. Now with our order, it was fantastic! These coffees really SMACKED! They were honestly some of the best dunkin we have had. We order the butter pecan and French vanilla iced coffees with cream. I would suggest asking for Elsa! She is absolutely amazing and definitely has great potential and great spirit. First, I am so excited to finally have Dunkin' Donuts in Dubuque. I am their biggest fan: there's really nothing better than Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Today, they got my order wildly incorrect but in the end I find myself appreciating them even more. They are a new crew; mistakes are expected even, to some degree, acceptable. What was unexpected was the graciousness with which my complaint was received. They were quick to not only fix my order but refund my money and genuinely apologize for the inconvenience. Every business makes mistakes, but I so appreciate a business that takes responsibility and corrects them with humility. It doesn't hurt that the coffee is really good too! read more

I recently traveled cross country, I can't begin to tell you how glad that I am to be back in Dubuque to the DD that I come to every week. I had the worst experiences, orders being wrong. Cup sizes being so small, drive thu's taking for-ever & it's still wrong. Kudos to the Dubuque Staff, even with the new people you are far more efficient than most cross country. Doughnuts are great, of course, but customer service is AWFUL. My own order was taken by a worker who obviously had better things to do. And I witnessed both of these situations in one visit: #1 - A young man was ordering a sandwich. As he is ordering, the clerk interrupted to ask if he wanted sauce on it. The young man asked if he could get it plain. The clerk replied in a very sarcastic voice - That's why I asked you. Completely uncalled for. #2 - A different young man went back to the counter with a coffee cup that was cracked and leaking hot coffee on him. The woman behind the counter looked at it and rudely told him to "throw it away then" and turned her back. He just stood there obviously surprised by her attitude. She turned back around and saw him still there and said "I told you to throw it away" like he was a naughty child. Only after he did that did she make any move to replace his coffee.
