I took the opportunity to find these bagels when my work meeting was situated nearby and I was forced to get my butt to McKinley Hill. I went here for a bagel and instead I got a veggie sandwich because it seemed like a better, heartier choice for someone who is HANGRY. It came with artichokes (which didn't really taste much like anything, but doesn't it make the sandwich description seem much fancier? And the price, higher? I mean at 230 pesos for a veggie sandwich, I would expect rainbows coming out of every bite). I had the mayo replaced with mustard so it's vegan, and the mustard really improved the flavor, as I would imagine if it was mayo it would be bland and tad bit disappointing. The slice of wheat sandwich bread was really soft and beautiful, but it became soggy quite quickly. Guess there's a reason why this place isn't named L.E.S. Sandwiches, because the bagels are really glorious (and vegan!). I decided to get a cinnamon raisin bagel to go, and I'm glad I did because it was really worth the Php60 price tag. It was flavorful, dense and chewy (in a good way), and quite sizeable, too. What a beautiful bagel! If only they would open a branch in Makati... and if they came up with vegan-friendly version of their cream cheese dips...or hummus! I'd be so happy.

I recall always having chosen among Butternut, Boston Kreme, and Choco Wacko, with Butternut winning more often than not. With the arrival of Krispy Kreme, my dedication to my beloved Dunkin Donuts faded (but not my love), and now I've had my fill of Krispy Kreme donuts, I'm finally back to Dunkin Donuts' less sweet and more familiar flavors. I think they underwent some sort of rebranding, because there are lot more Dunkin Donuts cafes now, and a wider selection that caters to older crowds now, with flavors like Cinnamon and Red Velvet. Still, Dunkin Donuts is back in my heart as my favorite donut to nibble on for an afternoon snack, and it sure helps that it's lighter on the pocket! They were super polite, friendly, and really helpful without feeling rushed at all. I remember years as in years ago (I might make it sound like I'm old but I'm just emphasizing how long it's been) I know people from the province used to request Dunkin' Donuts for pasalubong when someone they know is coming home and it's like one of those things that you just automatically buy. Even today, though there are many donut shops around, I still like 'em and I'm glad that they got with the times and updated their menu. I like the little donuts, the sandwich and their coffee. Oh and that they have restaurant types of stores now and not just take out.
