I came to the corolla location at precisely 7:00 in the morning ecstatic for my sourdough breakfast sandwich that i ordered at the kiosk. When my food was ready to be picked up I could not devour my food for thou bread was nay toasted and my eggs were nay cooked. I then asked for it to be sent back and recooked on the double and the triple and my god freakin sandwich was nay cooked. On their third attempt of this sandwich The eggs were cooked but my sandwich was nay toasted. I shall not to return to this location for the food was not cooked. I don't even know where to start here. We expected a line on a weekend departure from the beach. Easy order online, faster to pick up, we thought. What we didn't expect was a 35 minute forced drive thru wait (lobby is randomly closed), only to find a sign taped to the order board that says NO FOOD. Huh? Note this was posted after it was too late to get out of line anyway, which we wouldn't have done since our order was accepted online. So we wait some more and pull around, then the worker digs through piles of receipts and works hard to complete a lengthy refund for the non-existent food. While I wait some more, I check the donuts and find it's incorrect. Oh, says the worker, we're out of those. So they just gave us the plain old fashioned as replacement? I believe it was $18 dollars for a dozen donuts, which is high but it's the beach so makes sense, would have preferred to spend a couple of bucks more for Duck Donuts but their location and hours weren't in our favor. It wasn't all that busy when we stopped in, but it's also getting towards the off season. The main disappointment was the lack of selection with donuts. Half the racks were empty, so I had to settle for some third-round picks. No French crullers. No double chocolate. Truly tragic. It's embarrassing when you have to correct an employee. But at the same time it can be amusing. After just arriving we made a quick stop to pick up esentials at the grocery store next door and decided for breakfast doughnuts were our best option. We walked in with a dozen in mind and we had to have several cream filled ones. Once at the counter we started to look at the selection they had and said that we wanted cream filled ones. The kind employee behind the counter informed us that they did not have any. I looked at my sister puzzled and then proceeded to point at two cream filled doughnuts. Who doesn't like D&D while on vacation? I don't know if I would give this location a 5 stars solely due to the fact of the staff that work here. Everyone wasn't awake yet to get the food list ready, so why not surprise everyone with some D&D action. Now we got 2 "Box of Joes' " dozen bagels, dozen muffins, dozen donuts and some of us ventured off for specialty coffee, and hot chocolates (pumpkin spice for me). Simple enough except for my one simple order. A 24 oz pumpkin I paid for separate and was made with out the flavor. Nobody knew what I meant by a pumpkin coffee , was told they don't make it, but yet I was charged for it. Comical , now they are talking in a Eastern European language , guessing who dropped the ball. After about 10 min manager steps in and in 2 min time I have my pumpkin spice, reactions were the "oohhh" and a giggle, and more language I don't understand. While a guy in front of us ordered grease began to seep out from the bottom of the counter. When we let the employees working the counter know what was happening, they did nothing. Interested that a Dunkin donuts opened within a quarter mile from our usual vacation community in corolla, we decided to get a few dozen from what we considered a consistent fallback choice for donuts. 6 of the 24 were vanilla cream-filled, which much to our surprise had ZERO FILLING. Break apart another and nope, nothing. So we take them back and the manager only seemed mildly suprised. He gave us 6 more vanilla cream filled which had only a very small amount of filling. Giving this some thought would make someone believe that this couldn't be a random occurrence and might be some cost-cutting measure that the unwittingly loyal Dunkin donut patron would brush off. I got an iced mocha latte with whipped cream.. no offense to the barista but it was hard for her to understand what I wanted... and that's a pretty simple drink. The drink came with no whipped cream.
