As expected, the menu was healthy and vegetarian and vegan friendly; the default for the smoothies was coconut milk. The brick café was flooded with natural light and maintained its historic Water Street, Hallowell bones. Counter service was efficient; the server politely told us they were closing in a half hour, which wasn't a problem. The only note was the loud country / Christian music. I realize this is subjective but we agreed it detracted from the experience. Otherwise, Juiced is a solid place to stop in Hallowell.

We'd been traveling since the wee hours of the morning and decided to grab some local coffee before making the final push to Bar Harbor. We found this spot on Yelp. When we arrived to find them inside a gas station convenience store, we were apprehensive. But, once we made our way inside, we found a cute little coffee counter with a menu full of fun specialty espresso beverages. Their drinks trend toward the sweeter side but the espresso is solid and the beverages were good. The service was friendly and they have a drive thru. Get to it!

We ordered a 32oz Rush, a 24oz Rush, and cinnamon rolls. When our drinks came out, both were made as 24oz. Mistakes happen, so my roommate politely pointed out that one of them was supposed to be a 32oz. Instead of remaking the drink or putting more rush into it, the barista simply poured it into a larger cup and filled the rest with ice. Normally I wouldn't complain about something minor like a size mix-up, but there's over a $2 price difference between the 24oz and 32oz drinks, so it was disappointing to feel like I didn't actually receive what I paid for.

I should have known I was going to have a bad time because one of the employees was standing in front of the hot food. Staring at it like how the guy in Full Metal Jacket would stare as he descended into madness. I said "excuse me" and he looked at me and said "That's fuzzy food, I don't eat fuzzy food" Ok cool, let me get some fries, tendies and glizzies. Place also charges $2.89 for a .99 arizona iced tea (my local Mass Rusty lantern has them for .99) But yeah the food was absolutely disgusting. Hotdog, gross, tendies, awful, fries were rock solid.
