Located close to the location of a large meeting I was part of, I was easily able to pick up 2 dozen donuts on the morning of my meeting. The extremely nice woman behind the counter hooked me up with two boxes of assorted heaven. As an avid donut eater and a bit of a connoisseur of mans most delightful creation, DDandC nailed it. Fresh, good ingredients and a lot to choose from. The two dozen doughnuts that I brought in to my meeting were essentially demolished. As I was not local, the people who were local were extremely interested in knowing where I picked them up and I happily told them. A few had even mentioned being there before and some even planning to go. would I go back? 100%. Whenever possible, I bring a box or two of doughnuts to customers. When I do, I make it count and the people notice. When they see that I've actually searched out for a really good local doughnut shop, they appreciate that and take note. I'm not bringing in your fast-food donut places garbage "donuts" either. I'd rather bring nothing at all if I can't get the goods. One morning, after dropping my wife off at work, I finally gave in and decided it was time to see what I'd been missing. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by a display case full of donut greatness. Rachel, who was working at the time, was super friendly and started listing off flavors like crème sticks, glazed, chocolate glazed, jelly-filled, apple fritters--you name it. At that point, I knew I was in trouble (the good kind). I went with one of my all-time favorites: a Bavarian cream-filled donut. I've had a lot of these in my life--like, a lot--and this one easily ranks near the top. Soft, fresh, packed with flavor... basically gone way faster than I'd like to admit. They sell donuts individually or by the half or full dozen (dangerous knowledge), and there's even a seating area if you want to sit down and fully commit to your donut decisions. Prices are super affordable too, so your wallet won't judge you--even if your diet might. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Akron and even thinking about donuts, do yourself a favor and stop here. We also tried their mini tarts in lemon and cherry, as well as their apple crumble in phyllo dough. This was interesting and I have never seen it wrapped in phyllo dough.
