I spoke to Steven first and then after the job was completed I called Steven and also spoke to the owner Mr. Bower to tell about how pleased I am. Promptness Yes, they called prior to arrival and were on time. I spoke to Steven and he was the most ethical, caring, kind, and knowledgeable young man. This was the fifth phone call that I made, and I'm so thankful that I found Bowers Well Drilling & Pump. I was told by another company in this area that they couldn't touch this job for under $9,000 because the part that they needed was that much money. I was told crazy stories from all four companies, and because we had gone through so much I prayed for discernment, and it was then that I made the call to Bowers Well Drilling & Pump and spoke to Steven. As soon as I heard his voice and listened to him explain how there was no way that $9000 was the price I should pay for the job that I needed done, I thanked God for an answer to my prayer. So, for just a little over $2600 the job was done by professionals, and they were very prompt as well. I called Steven to tell him that I will forever sing his praises and direct everyone that I know his way....and so I contacted all the folks that have a grove, orchard or just have a well. You have to go long and far these days to meet ethical people like the folks at Bowers Well Drilling & Pump. Five years ago I needed some work done on my well pump and called a local company after the guy came out a total of four times because everything that he tried didn't work and at the end, gave me a hefty bill and still didn't fix the problem. However I found out that he was a drug user and needed money for his habit, and didn't even have a current license to do business. Like I said, I thank God for answering my prayer to find a good, and ethical company. We are living on social security and certainly don't need to just throw our money away. This is what we got for the bill: $350 service call mid-morning weekday (technician was at our house for less than 2 hrs., and he spent quite a bit of time on the phone for personal calls), and here is the kicker, 2" PVC check valve for $150. We did not know better and we paid (we had to go out of town the same day). When we came back, had the same problem and called Spivey again. Technician did not show up at scheduled time. He showed up later and said he would come back and fixed the issue. After a few days of no show, we hired someone else . PVC check valve has to be replaced - again. BTW, the person we hired (NOT SPIVEY!!) charged us what he paid Home Depot for the part. I think it is $30 or so. He fixed the problem for $150, including parts.
