This is a single screen old (1920's old) classic theater with a tavern attached. They show family movies which is great so the kids can come with and there are coffee tables in front of each row of chairs. Prices are very affordable and the delicious homemade fresh to order pizza served with a pitcher of soda or beer made this an enjoyable evening! We came on a Monday night to the 5:00 show and had the theater to ourselves. What a best kept secret! Glad we checked it out while in the area!

Great venue for seeing local tribute bands! The food from next store was great to get before the show started!

A little out dated, but great staff, great food, and a perfect place to take a kid who may not be able to remain 100% silent in a movie!

I believe you can also order beer since it's connected to Zupkos (where they make the pizza).

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience at the Regal Hamilton Commons (Trenton area…read morelocation). Our group of 17 people attended a screening of Dhurandhar in Theater Room 1, and the sound volume in the auditorium was excessively loud to the point of being physically uncomfortable. More than 6 members of our group developed headaches during the movie, and several others expressed significant discomfort and dissatisfaction. The volume level was not just Immersive--it was Overwhelming, Harsh, and Disruptive and Unsafe, making it difficult to enjoy the film. I personally went to speak with the manager 8 minutes during the screening and was told that the volume would be lowered. Unfortunately, it did not seem that any meaningful adjustment was made, as the sound remained excessively loud for the duration of the movie. 4 Hours long. Additionally, many other guests in the theater were also expressing dissatisfaction with the volume level, which makes it clear this was not an isolated concern from our group alone. A movie theater experience should be enjoyable and safe for all guests, but the sound levels during our visit were far beyond what would be considered Reasonable or Safe. This issue affected a large portion of our group and turned what was meant to be a fun outing into a very disappointing experience. We strongly recommend that management review and properly regulate the audio levels in Theater Room 1, particularly for screenings like Dhurandhar, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all customers.

Rutgers Cinema is my go-to movie theater. With unbeatable prices (I believe lowest in the state)…read moreand the most newly released films, it's really a can't miss spot. If you have any Rutgers affiliation- current student, alumni, professor, staff- just show any proof of affiliation and you'll receive a discount for you AND all the guests with you (even if the guests aren't affiliated with Rutgers). I recently visited to watch Reminders of Him and the cinema worker said even showing an email from Rutgers would suffice for the discount deal. Love this spot and being that it's on Rutgers' Piscataway/Livingston campus, it brings back so many memories of being a student there. You can buy tickets on their easy to navigate website (added fee) or in person. I've never experienced them to sell their tickets out, if you're wondering whether to buy in advance or at the cinema.

Years after my last visit, Rutgers Cinema remains mostly unchanged, for better or worse. My most…read morerecent visit was to see one of the Spider-Verse movies and my experience was largely identical to the one documented in my 2016 review here. Show listings here are limited to at most 3 movies at any given time and include new releases, old releases, and/or occasionally recordings of live events (like the Swift ERAS Tour which costs a hefty $19.89 for admission). The stiff auditorium seating and standard surround sound are adequate for shorter 2D movies, though I personally wouldn't come here for features longer than 2 hours. The lack of proper ventilation in the three theaters here become very noticeable an hour into any movie, when you can both feel and smell the stagnant body heat of 40 people seated in a closed room. The combined miasma of body odor and popcorn is so unbearable at the 90-minute mark that I usually have to leave the screening after two hours, if for nothing else than to use the restroom at the end of the hall before three dozen other kids try to do the same. There are some concession-related promotions from Monday thru Wednesday, but the only remotely bearable part of the Rutgers Cinema experience is the $5 admission with student ID (or $0 thru certain special events) which is primarily meant to cater to students with no cars, no money, and nowhere to go. For the general public, your local AMC or even your home theater system will be overwhelmingly superior.

The theaters are currently swarmed now with Wicked drones (the proletariat indoctrinated with marketing brainwashing) - even saw a pair dressed like the two lead simps. Witches buy popcorn. When I entered my non-Bewitched theater early, I joked to another of the few patrons there in the empty Nuremberg theater "why didn't you come dressed as Görring?" This went over better than my joke to the concession drones, asking if they're seeing a lot of brawls in the Wicked-screenings. Blank dumbfounded stares. Doesn't anyone remember laughter? So: two minor complaints at this evening's prematurely ended evening for my "free" ish flick: 1) A bossy short Dad and his son came and I was sitting in one of their seats - it was early. I cheerily explained I didn't wanted to crowd the person next to me but now I'd move. No big deal. That was until short stuff sternly ordered me to get up. "Get up!" 30 minutes before the film in a half empty theater as I was being unjustifiable polite. I said something lighthearted in response to the Sultan's Command and there were no problems - until after the homunculus sat down and then proceeded to pull up his furry bare stinky feet yogi style into his lap to do what any decent civilized man would do at any movie theater in front of his child and strangers: he began to pick his filthy feet. 2) After I got that bestial grooming tactic out of my mind after twenty minutes of ignoring it in my peripheral vision, then on the other side of me I heard the familiar "sppporitzzzclick" of a Good Ole Boy crackin' up a cold one. This is doubtless illegal - at first I ignored it but after his second beer gassed up the area to a dive bar level stench miasma, I left the theater early. I wondered as I escaped the Hollywood whitewash flick (I was buying Russell Cow's twinkling eyes), whether Mountainside staff would have done a thing if I had reported the primitivist or the drunks. It's why I typically only attend movies that are sparsely populated by the Great Unwashed. Jean Paul Satre said it about - that quote about what other people are.
