My mechanic who is a family friend told me that my car's engine and transmission had been leaking…read moreoil and it was a matter of time before it was going to fail on me. It was due to old age (239000 miles). Too bad he doesnt do engine swaps. Fortunately, I have a coworker who has a husband that owns a shop and was told that he just recently swap a engine with a low mileage jdm motor. Chris called me that same night and we went over the details on the work that needed to be done on the car. He was very informative and he went step by step with me about the engine swapping process. He even told me that he would pick up the engine and transmission in NJ for a cheap fee. I decided that Chris was the right guy for the job and told him that I would give him the car in three weeks to work on. When I arrived at the shop, I told Chris that I had other issues with the car. He told me that he will look into it but his main focus was to replace the motor and transmission first. During the time he was working on my car, he kept in constant contact with me. He would let me know what he was doing and if there was something that needed to be replaced, he would call me first for permission before buying the replacement part. Chris also sent me picture and videos while my car was being worked on. One of other issues that I had address to Chris was that my heater was only give me luke warm air at best. I had thought that my heater core was clogged and that it needed to be replaced. Turns out, Chris found that it was just my heater control valve that was broken and prevented the coolant to go into my heater core. For people that dont know about heater cores, it would cost 800 to 1500 dollars for the heater core to be replaced. By finding out that it was just the heater control valve, Chris saved me a boat load of money. About a week and half later, Chris finally finished the job and he delivered my car in front of the house. He even gave my car a wash and even detailed my car. I test drove the car with Chris sitting on the passenger side and was surprised how much power I had on the new engine. Transmssion was shifting flawlessly. Chris also installed a dedicated transmission oil cooler and filter to prolong the life of the transmission. I had told Chris that day he delivered my car that I was going on a trip to upstate for the memorial day weekend. He told me that if I have any issues to call him immediately. I didn't have to call him because my car worked perfectly. In fact, Chris texted me asking how my car was doing and I forgot to text him back. (Sorry Chris). I highly recommend Chris to anyone. Not only that he does excellent work, he genuinely cares about his customers. Other than my family friend, Chris would be the only one I would trust my car with. Thank you Chris!!!

Stay away, do not use this guy, he's unprofessional and is unable to handle certain repairs. This…read moreguy also ripped my friend off by charging him $1122- for a repair incomplete, for a repair we supplied him all parts and tools for him to do it AND it was hardly done and never completed, a repair that was to take no more than a few hours , THE clincher IS, he broke parts while doing it and he never even finished it because he had no actual idea how to do these type of repairs, although, he accepted the job and took the repair to his "secret" shop, a place he wouldn't tell where it was, felt like it was being held hostage AND went on for weeks. He hardly worked on it, he had a lame excuse anytime I'd get him on the phone (which was rare). Instead he was "attempting" to do the repair, likely spent an hour or two at most and did so, here and there, the repair was not done and he broke parts and hardly did anything he was asked to do, he was supplied every single prt and tool by me, he did do what he was hired to do and what he did was minimal and broken and incomplete. He brought it back as an incomplete, ruined repair and took him weeks to do anything to it, as he did hardly much that was needed. Really, this was a very bad experience working with him y regrets are high. How dos he sleep at night? The money he ripped my friend off is also being handled in an separate matter, he's not keeping that money, no one gets paid for ruining people's things and breaking things and where we had to bring this repair elsewhere, to an actual professional to fix this guy's crap he broke and we have to pay more to have it all fixed now?? We are glad now to feel secure a REAL mechanic will fix and complete the repair, yes a real mechanic who KNOWS what to do and how to do it properly!

It's nice to know that a service station will honor the warranty guarantee as promised, no strings attached. In addition, the car was making a vibrating noice underneath, totally unrelated to the front axle. He said it was just a plate touching the rotor, which was causing the vibration. He straightened out the plate, which took care of the vibration. Although though there were no parts involved, there was still labor involved, and he advised me that there still would be no charge. Since my husband and I are on a fixed income, I really appreciated the savings. It's great when you can have trust in your mechanic, and not have any second thoughts.
