The mats are soft and comfortable for the joints. I went to the fundamentals Jiu Jitsu class, and learned some details that helped my game. The class is strictly one hour long - 5 mins warm-up, 5 mins situational drilling, 30 min technique instruction, 17 min situational rolling, 3 min bowing out. The folks there are like most other BJJ academies, warm, welcoming, friendly, and happy to share techniques and exchange ideas. I went back home knowing that I made a few more friends in Calgary.
