I've only tried the CrossFit classes here, but they also offer various martial arts such as Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu. The facility is divided between a very large floor mat sparring area, a full sized fighting octagon, and a functional fitness area for CrossFit (pull up bars, barbell racks, jumping boxes, etc.). The men's "change room" consists of a small semi-closed off cluster of lockers in the main gym area. The women have an actual room. Being located in an industrial park, there is plenty for parking. The CrossFit classes at this location differ from the others I have tried insofar as they tend to be consistently focused on constant high rep, high intensity intuitive exercises (e.g. box jumps, kipping pull ups, push up pyramids, crunches) and a few barbell moves. This is in contrast to some other CrossFits where you can spend a significant portion of a class working on developing a particular "functional" movement like a headstand, barbell combos, or some kettle bell manoeuvre. If you're looking for an efficient calorie burning, stamina building workout class you can dive into without much of a learning curve, try this place.

I'm excited to see my son progress and gain strength and stamina for his future in criminology. My son has taken advantage of their cross/cage fit classes in the morning. And his membership includes Jujitsu (or Muay Thai) which he'll start soon. We highly recommend this gym.

First impressions of the gym was that it is pretty small but clean. There are gloves for visitors to use. The class before the one I attended probably had around 20 students and it looked very cramped. The class I attended had about 10 and it was definitely more manageable with space. The instructor, Gabe, was nice and clearly had great technique. I wish there was more feedback during the class but I understand that there was ~10 students so it's impossible to give a lot of personal feedback but I wish there was just a bit more. I would like to visit one more time to check out the advanced class to see if there is more focus on technique.

The trainers are extremely knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely have a passion for what they do. Tasneem, the owner, personally greeted me and took the time to welcome me to the studio on my first day. All the trainers I have met know me by name. The music is always great and general ambiance is unlike any other studio I've been to (I've tried multiple spin studios, barre studios, boxing studios etc). They offer a range of workout classes at different times during the day that are incredibly effective. You are guaranteed to walk out feeling amazing after every class. The classes are small which allows the trainers to give you personal tips and correct your form if needed. To me, this really set Square1 apart because I feel like they actually care that I am doing everything the right way which has helped me maximize my workout. Sometimes, it felt like a personal training session (esp when classes are smaller). Their attention to detail is remarkable. As you progress, the trainers will also suggest personal modifications. I love that they are able to gage wether you should increase weight/intensity because they actually pay attention to your progress over time. Although, the space is on the smaller side, it does not feel cramped and is kept very clean. I love how this studio feels so different than other 'boutique studios' - nothing pretentious, fussy, or "extra" about this place. If you are looking for an amazing full body strength workout and/or would like to try kickboxing - THIS IS THE BEST STUDIO IN THE CITY!!!!!! I'll stop now but I really could go on and on and on...

Since they had just recently opened, they had a one week free trial going on when I went. I think that offer is over now, but I think there's occasional specials that occur though out the year. Totally worth it to ask if you decide to go there. The instructors are super nice! Master Kim, Adrian and Danny were super accommodating to a newbie like me. Master Kim made sure to check how each person was doing throughout the class, making sure that each of us were able to keep up. His instructions were clear and easy to understand throughout the class and he was super patient in making sure we were doing the moves properly. As there were several different levels attending the class, the instructors would teach us individually as well to help us focus on certain moved based on our "belt" level.
