The fried shrimp had great flavor and seasoning on the breading. I personally would've liked them fried just a little harder for a bit more crisp, but they were still very tasty and fresh. The mac & cheese was creamy, rich, and definitely one of the highlights of the plate. The red beans & rice had a good hearty flavor, though it was a little on the salty side for my taste. For dessert, I had the peach cobbler. The flavor was really good and comforting, but I would've liked a little more juice in it. It would also be great if they offered an option to heat the cobbler, which would take it to another level. Interior is cute , screams New Orleans. They had one person working counter she was busy in the phone trouble shooting some software so I just ordered on the tablet. Overall, generous portions and good Southern comfort food. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu.

Breading was lightly seasoned (would have liked a little more flavor) on the catfish and shrimp. The shrimp were super plump and sweet. Catfish was a bit funky but both were best with the hot sauce. Gumbo had good flavor and a dark roux, just too much salt and the chicken was a bit chewy. Nice pieces of okra and really good sausage. Will come back for a shrimp poboy.

The biggest flex of this place is the fact they had a dj playing music the moment you step in. I already knew this place was going to be fun because of this reason. Chili Crisp Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (4/5) Nice and light for a breakfast option. Not too heavy, which I appreciate. The sauce adds a nice flavor profile to the sandwich. I just wish the sandwich had a little more of the chili crisp so I could taste it in the meal and really bring the whole thing together. But still a great option and tasted delicious regardless. Tater Tots (5/5) Tasty and crunchy. There's a specific seasoning to the tater tots that really elevates the flavor, but i can't pinpoint. Really pairs well with any dish that you order from this place, really! Highly recommend and would come back the next time I'm in the SD area!

The drinks and food alone is enough to bring you in but the vibes and music really seal the deal. I love their unique matcha and coffee lattes. I'm also annoying about their tater tots because they really truly are the absolute best I've ever had. It does seem to be always pretty busy, but finding somewhere to sit hasn't ever been a huge issue. The staff is really efficient and helpful.

The staff were incredibly nice, guiding us through the menu and helping us decide on the two sides with two options meals. When handing us our food, they mentioned and apologized that the mac and cheese was not up to par and encouraged us to come back and try it again. He was right--the mac and cheese was overcooked, but the flavor was still there. I appreciate the honesty. The pork chop, catfish, and chicken wings were seasoned to perfection. The breading was light but crunchy so delicious I wanted to eat all the small crumbs off my plate. The candied yams were flavorful, and the best part for me was the banana pudding. It was the best banana pudding I have ever had. Overall, I had a great experience, and I'll definitely be back to give the mac and cheese another shot and eat more delicious southern food in SD.

The staff is so friendly and was very helpful with the menu. There were sides that weren't on the menu, like the fried okra and french fries. We ended up ordering them as sides for the chicken wings. We also ordered the catfish with mac n cheese and collard greens. For dessert, we got the peach cobbler. Other desserts they have are banana cream pie, strawberry-banana cream pie, and chocolate cake. They all sounded good, but the peach cobbler was highly recommended. The cornbread muffin made it on the order too. All the food was delicious and perfectly seasoned! The catfish and chicken were juicy. The catfish tasted fresh and not too fishy. The mac n cheese and collard greens were the best out of the sides we got. Cornbread and peach cobbler were also very good. The cobbler wasn't too sweet, so I enjoyed it. I'm really glad I found this place on Yelp. I highly recommend giving them a try!

The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 (and I'm usually a 5-star/1-star girlie) is that we haven't seen Cari, one of our favorite servers, in either of our last couple of visits. Over a year ago now, Cari stepped UP when I became faint and almost passed out on Nate's front deck. It was a hot day, I am BAD at drinking water but great at sweating; and as I stood up, I turned paper white and the world got fuzzy. Cari swooped in the moment she saw what was happening - making sure I was safely lying down, getting me hand sanitizer for my forehead and a wet cloth for the back of my neck (rapid cooling!), and orange juice for my fluid imbalance. I'm so SO glad Cari was there to take better care of me than I take of myself. I miss our nerdy conversations, and hope she'll be back soon!

One of my friends recommended I try this place because I had been looking for a good BBQ spot in SD…read morewhich is hard to find btw. And I am a self proclaimed BBQ connoisseur. So I came here on a Sunday. Let me start by saying I loved the vibe and the customer service was superb. The cashier was really nice and people were constantly checking on us while we sat and ate. I'm from LA and this place was giving backyard BBQ with unc and auntie and them. lol. There is a cigar lounge type vibe to the very back serving up cocktails and playing sports on the big screen if that's your vibe. They also had some RnB playing as well. Now for the food. They are not stingy with the portions at all. I ordered rib tips, a hot link, and brisket with cornbread, potato salad and Mac n cheese. The rib tips were not as tender as I would've like them to be, however the flavor was good and their bbq sauce was phenomenal. The brisket was SUPER tender but could use more flavor. The Mac n cheese was too salty for me and my friend that came with me. However, the person who recommended the spot said the Mac n cheese was fire so maybe it was an off day which happens. The potato salad though (which they only have Fri-Sun) was out of this world and so was the cornbread. Oh AND they have kool-aid ! I did not get any but I'm sure it was fire. Side note: when I warmed it up the next day the meat did have even more flavor !

The Tri-Tip was sooooo good, but a bit try for my own personal standards. The brisket was soft, flavorful, and smokey. The pork ribs were smokey, sweet, and delicious, but weren't falling off the bone. The mac n cheese was soooo good. The baked beans you could buy by the quart. 8.5/10 Service: The workers were so welcoming, patient, and sweet! We asked them for help on what's popular and what their favorites were. The feelings were authentic and I'd come back just for them. 10/10 Ambiance: Old fashion style interior, records everywhere, and cute antiques. Backyard style seating that felt like you were in someone's home. TVs everywhere to watch any sports and shady spots to eat.

I went with a godfather sandwich and the first thing I noticed is that the sandwich is absolutely stuffed. I was also surprised at how good the Dutch crunch I chose tasted (it had a slight chew but was also fluffy at the same time).
