1-Star Review -- Unprofessional Pricing, Unexpected Charges, and Poor Customer Service…read more
I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring Tino's Haul N Dump. Our experience was extremely disappointing, particularly because we were repeat customers who had already spent over $1,000 with Richard.
We needed one final trash removal job completed. We explained what needed to be hauled away and made it clear that our budget was $350. Richard quoted us $450, which was already $100 over our budget. Despite that, we agreed to his price because we had previously done business with him and trusted him to honor his word.
The problem began when the invoice arrived.
Richard stated in writing that the $450 included the dump fee, labor, and hauling. However, when the invoice was sent to my partner, James, the total was over $500 because of additional charges.
We believed we had agreed to a $450 job. If additional fuel and processing fees were going to increase the total, that should have been clearly communicated before we agreed.
What made the situation even more frustrating was Richard's poor communication. James, who was responsible for paying the invoice, attempted to communicate with him and did not receive the responses we expected.
This is not how you treat paying customers, especially repeat customers who have already spent substantial money with your business.
Ultimately, we hired another professional hauling contractor who quoted us $400 based on photographs of the trash. He arrived on time, completed the entire job as promised, and honored his original price without surprises or additional charges.
The difference in professionalism was remarkable.
When I explained to Richard why we had chosen another contractor, his response was that he had been clear from the beginning. Rather than acknowledging our concerns about the pricing and communication, he defended his handling of the situation.
My biggest complaint isn't simply the money. It's the lack of transparency, inconsistent pricing expectations, poor communication, and the way we were treated as customers.
When someone gives you a quote, you should be able to trust that the final amount will be clearly explained before you commit. Customers should not have to chase down answers or discover unexpected costs when the invoice arrives.
We gave Richard our repeat business because we believed we had established a trustworthy professional relationship. Unfortunately, this experience changed our opinion completely.
My advice to potential customers: Get the complete, final price in writing, including every fuel charge, processing fee, disposal fee, and any other additional costs, before agreeing to anything. Do not assume the quoted amount is your final total.
We will not be using this company again.
