I was finally able to get rid of things that just were too bulky for my LADWP bins. Scheduled pick up for Sunday and my patio is almost ready for entertaining again. I only wish I called them sooner. When the bin was picked up, I was told it weighed 11.5 tons (23,000 lbs) and was charged an additional $880 for overweight fees. I have remodeled many homes and have never seen a 1,150 sq ft remodel generate anywhere near that amount of weight--especially considering the debris was drywall only. The claimed weight is simply not believable based on my experience. I attempted to resolve this reasonably with the owner, Alberto, and their employee, Eddie. I even offered to pay $750 toward the overage, despite strongly believing the charge was excessive. They refused to negotiate and dismissed my concerns entirely. I will not use this company again and strongly advise others to avoid them unless you're prepared for unexpected and questionable charges.
