I had just bought a ticket to go and see a film, so now it was time to grab a bite to eat, and this place looked rather nice. As such, I decided to go and pay it a visit. Yeah, it actually wasn't too bad, but it felt more like one of those asian fusion places as opposed to a more traditional, and authentic, Asian restaurant. Then again, that probably does have a lot to do with it being located in a shopping centre. The food was nice, but the menu didn't grab me all that much. Good food. Awful service. Ordered a vegetarian mapu tofu and ended up with a pork dish. They changed it but by the time the final dish came it went into a take away box. The Singapore Fried noodles were also awesome and we really liked the fried rice and the vegetarian spring rolls. Improve the service and make your staff more friendly. read more

Ok been there a couple of times place is set out well with lots of seating love the booths. Toilets are good too just me this is important usually have to walk into something that is a mine field. Anyway the food today was not the best start with the good had the chicken skewers they were gr8 yah! The dumpling were under cooked and surprise we ordered 6 got 10 thought that was strange but just thought my friend ordered wrong. The ordering is weird here u have to do like a tuck shop order like shop write it on a piece of paper and take it to the frount anyway.... Eating my pork dumplings surprise got a pawn one thank god lm not allergic to fish found more pawn as l went so we got 6 pork and then four prawn ! I have dined at Dumpling Story several times ordering pretty much the same thing - fried rice and dumplings. Today my friends and I ventured out and ordered dishes we have never ordered before. The star of the day would be the salt and pepper flounder-AMAZING! The salt and pepper eggplant was also delicious- eggplant in batter. The beans with mince (simple but delicious) comes close second. I must say that I'm not too keen on the dumplings....but the other dishes that we have tried have been excellent. My friends and I noticed that ALL the wait staff continually wanted to take the menu from our table. Several times we said that we would like to hold on to the menu just in case we wanted to try something else. Even a table next to us who just arrive (and had not looked at their menu) a wait staff wanted to take their menu away. A note to Dumpling Story proprietors - if the issue is that you do not have enough menus for everyone, print more Menus! read more

Absolutely worse service ever!! Restaurant opened for around 6 weeks and staff still not sure on what is going on... The staff ushered us to a table and did not explain the way the restaurant operated....order on note pad and then go and pay at register before receiving meal....when we ordered at register we were informed that the satay was not available as they had none left and we were not given an option to look and add another dish....payment just taken and rushed us through to serve the next customer all cutlery, bowls and water are self serve.....Staff actually running around restaurant, unable to find tables and when we recieved our meal it was luke warm....we also ordered takeaway and they mixed up the takeaway with the table meal. when we approached staff to ask what was going on they either didn't understand or didnt wait around for us to get answer poor quality food... rude uninterested staff and bad service..... definitely wont be going back read more

Came for the vegetarian dumplings, got two serves (10 per serve) and I wish I stuck with one. The portion of one dumpling is impressive however the filling is not appealing to eat or look at, it looked like a grey cat food with corn. Also got a dish of Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce, this was fresh and very tasty. I was a little upset it was only available with garlic and not oyster sauce. Probably the freshest looking Chinese broccoli I've had, but not the tastiest. End "story", not impressed at all with the dumplings and the Chinese broccoli was their only saviour. On a side note, not that it affected me, the spring rolls were not available. read more

If you want the most delicious spring onion pancakes you can find, look no further! Not to mention that Jasmine Tea the window into the dumpling room is such a clever idea because it promotes fresh food and allows customers to enjoy the atmosphere while they wait. I have never had a bad meal here and I usually try to convince all my friends to go there when we go late night shopping. I never win and it's usually so busy that you can't get a seat! The only reason I didn't give five stars is because to get to the bathrooms you feel like you're about to walk either into the kitchen or into someone's bedroom and usually have to rub a cardboard box gauntlet just to pee! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, time after time they don't have any dumplings, don't call yourself a dumpling restaurant and not have dumplings. Customer service is disgusting, rude arrogant staff. I would highly recommend not to go here. They also got my order wrong twice. read more

I was so excited to come here because I love xio long bao (shanghai/broth or soup dumplings). They, and the other dumplings we ordered, were good. Not knock your socks off, but perfectly good. I also got the spicy lamb, which was fatty. My husband got the comvination noodle soup which was also fine. The servings were large, the prices were ok, the service was eh. If youre already in Werribee Plaza and want dumplings this is a perfectly good choice. read more

Delicious hand made dumplings (tried the vegetable steamed and pork fried). But service was awful - it should improve, it's only just opened. If I was to compare to fellow westie shopping centre style dumpling joint, Highpoint's Dumpling King, this one tastes just as good (dumpling wise) and is no way near as speedy, efficient and friendly. read more

we went there and order some noodle soup, it took about half hour to come, the chicken and beef was boiled in the noodle, the flavor was bland, no taste at all. the I complain to the manager, he accepted it and offered fried rice instead. it came in 2 minutes, but the dish was cold. disgusting food, very disappointed. never again. read more
