This is my second time visiting this hole in the wall after a few year and it was still as delicious. I will say that the bubble milk tea was not good. It tasted like water, lacked real flavor and the boba was not sweet like it boba normally is. But the real star was the Shanghai soup dumplings. Absolutely the best soup dumplings I've tried to date. They have so much flavor and taste homemade. Another plus about this place is that it is very inexpensive and the portions are great. I also tried the meat eggroll, which was a little bit greasy, for my taste , but it did have great savory flavors. I did not get much this time because I came alone, but from what I could see on the tables, the portions looked shareable. The location itself is pretty small and gets packed pretty easily. I was immediately seated and ordered the Honeydew Bubble Tea, 4pc wings (fresh and crispy), Chives, Pork &Shrimp fried dumplings, and Sautéed Pork intestines with Hot pepper (something new to try). I did inquire with the waiter about the spice level of the dish and she explained the cook can accommodate it to level of medium. My goal is to find the best Asian cuisine restaurants in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade County since I moved to the area. This place was a bit disappointing. I have been craving good soup dumplings and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. I even took my coworker here because she hadn't tried this place before. The soup dumpling skin was too thick and the meat flavor was bland. There was some broth in the dumpling, but I did not care for it. I have tried the soup dumplings twice and it was the same each time. Some of the frozen soup dumplings I have tried at the Chinese grocery stores taste better than their soup dumplings. I also tried their lunch menu and the fried chicken wings were a little bit too dry. And the beef noodle soup tasted bland. I can make a beef noodle soup better than the ones they make. The other items on the menu include other dumpling dishes, mala dishes, fried rice, soups, noodle dishes, etc. The service was attentive when I went during lunch and it was not too busy. Some of the staff members spoke Chinese as well. The food is prepared quickly. The restaurant itself isn't big, but there is plenty of seating. Also, there is a good amount of parking in the plaza. You can order take-out here and they accept cash or credit here. This is a quick fix if you have cravings for Chinese food, but it isn't the best I have had. Dumpling King serves really tasty dumplings I'll give credit where it's due. The food came out hot, flavorful, and fast. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. The server who came up to me at the end wasn't even the person who helped me during my meal. She just brought the payment tablet over and immediately demanded a tip. She told me that if I didn't leave a tip on the screen, I would have to give it in cash instead making it feel like a requirement, not a choice. When I chose not to tip her, she got upset and started talking about me in her own language to another staff member while looking right at me. Thankfully, the other person didn't entertain it and stayed professional but it still made the whole moment awkward and uncomfortable. First things first, the outside of this place looks very unassuming. That being said, once you get inside the place is great. Not too much seating or space but I've never had to wait in a line at this place. It is sort of a hidden gem which I appreciate! I know the maximum of the Yelp star scale is 5 but I'm gonna be a rebel and give it a 10 out of 10. Why have I been sleeping on this hidden gem for so long?? I pass this place way too many times but better late than never. The menu has so many great options but since I was rolling solo I opted for the hot and sour soup, chive, pork, and shrimp friend dumplings and a passion green boba tea to wash it down. The tea is sweet but not overwhelming to where you'd need to water it down. To me, it is just right. Good hot and sour soup is hard to find but this exceeded all expectations. It comes out piping hot so I waited to indulge. Every spoonful has the perfect kick of spice and I think it's a good starter if you aren't that hungry because it's very filling. I will definitely be ordering that again. Fair warning, the dumplings are GINORMOUS!!! I was so shocked when she brought the plate to me that I said "what!" out loud and a few people chuckled. These are definitely sharing portions or to take to the rest to go. I even asked if they had a half portion and they said no. The flavor of the chive pork and shrimp is great and you can tell they're making them fresh. The top part of the dumpling dough melts in your mouth but my favorite is the crispy bottom. Ah it's so delicious! Although I was able to get seated right away, I do like that you can opt to wait in line on Yelp just in case the seating is full. This has become one of my new favorite restaurants, you can't beat the taste and the value that you get from this establishment. Ever since I moved close to this neighborhood, I've been seeing dumpling King pop up on my feed. I'm more of a General Tao's and lo mein girl, not that I have anything against dumplings it's just not my go-to. That being said it took me a while to actually visit the establishment. The first time I went I got there honey chicken, which was okay but I'm not mad at that because it is not one of the dishes they're known for. A while later I returned and actually got some dumplings and I'm very glad I did. I got the chive, pork and shrimp steam dumplings; very good flavor and great chew on the dumpling wrapper (you have to ask for chili oil). I also tried the green onion pancake which was not the best I have had but was nice. And on my last visit I tried the fried chicken wings which were noticeably fresh. They also have boba, I'm not a big boba of person but every once in a while I do crave it. Their boba goes for about $5 which is an incredible deal, but keep in mind they do not have the popping boba. I really appreciate the fact that they have a varied menu but it is not at all overwhelming. The establishment itself is pretty simple, the few times I've walked in there for takeout I've had no desire to sit in for a meal. The place is a bit small, but they were continuously shuttling people in and out, which only speaks to how amazing the food is. We were absolutely shocked at how large the dumplings were and how many we got. HUGE portions. The soup dumplings were phenomenal and are now going to be my good to sick food. The kimchi dumplings were definitely my favorite but a little too spicy for my partner, so be warned! They have a nice little kick. 10/10 would recommend and definitely go there again.
