Duke's was a nice little stop on my trip from Fort Worth to Little Rock. It was much less crowded than the Buccee's that I stopped at earlier, so it was a much nicer experience. The whole place was very clean and the bathrooms were pretty luxurious for a truck stop. The employees were friendly and it was stocked with a wide variety of drinks, snacks, sundries, and gifts. We ain't here at Cotton belt barbecue. Not really sure what their goal is for barbecue, but they didn't even come close to bad barbecue in Texas. The ribs were dry overcooked. Brisket was fair. Carrots were hot vegetables were cold. Potatoes were cold. On our way out there were a couple of employees that looked like managers standing in front of the barbecue window. We told them what we thought and they did not even make a comment. Find a place that emphasizes making good barbecue and not selling a bunch of crap made in China. read more

I am blown away at the honesty sand friendliness of the employees at this location. Specifically Mr. Mike Hamzeh the manager and Hermina. I left my purse in the restroom. It had all my credit cards all cash and even jewelry. I came back through town I went to asked if it had been turned in and it was safe and sound in the office. Mr. Hamzeh handed it to me and told me that Hermina had turned it in. You don't find too much honesty in todays times so you can imagine how relieved and grateful I was. Stopped here to pee, plus the mascot is cute. True to their word, they have a dog park and dog wash station near the entrance. Kinda cool if you're a pet owner. The restrooms are clean and reasonably fancy. Lots of trinkets you can purchase here, like t-shirts, hats, wall decor, keychains, can cozies, etc. and also food stuffs and beverages. There are a bunch of neat wood benches for sale outdoors too. A fun photo op with bronze bulls too. The employee that checked us out was amiable and we joked around with him about working retail jobs and how much those kind of customers-- you know the ones-- suck, LOL. read more

This place is a very welcome stop along the long I-30 beat down between Dallas and Little Rock. If headed east from Dallas, it is only about 70 miles from the Buccee's in Royse City. Well worth the wait, in my opinion. Duke's is cleaner, less crowded, and has plenty of food and beverage options. There is also a portion of the place dedicated to retail items much like Buccee's. I highly recommend this place as a clean welcoming place to stop along that grueling corridor of traffic. read more

This was a pretty cool place to stop and stretch your legs. It's kind of like a Bucky's gas station and rest area, except about 1/3 the size. It has everything you might need for snacks and some supplies. Try the locally made beef jerky, it's delicious! They have enough gas pumps and restrooms to accommodate, and they have a few restaurants. We had some BBQ and it was very good. We stopped here going to and from Memphis and it was a welcome stop both times. read more

Wonderful pitstop! I drive the portion of I-30 multiple times a year. They have clean bathrooms. They have a family bathroom, which is a big deal when you have little ones. To call it a gas station does not do it justice! You will not find a better place to stop for gas than Dukes. Their bathrooms are super clean and neat. I make a trip on I30 and back 1-2 times a month. I have always enjoyed stopping at Duke's. It is a very clean store, and the restrooms are the cleanest I have ever encountered on Interstate 30. However, on my last 2 trips (during COVID-19 outbreak and Texas mask mandate), I noticed several customers not wearing masks. I felt that some travelers might have been from other states and not aware of the Texas mask mandate, but there wasn't even a sign on the door.to inform customers. I then noticed that the cashiers were not.masks. Duke's--Surely you can do better. Travellers need a safe and clean store. read more
