If you're ever in Mount Vernon Texas you got to stop at Duke's and get some barbecue... Summer and Emily are great that work there... The brisket the sausage and all the sides are all great you can't go wrong with whatever you pick.... read more

I've been stopping at Duke's for several years. The folks are always friendly and the fuel is usually below the going market price by a little bit. They've got a great selection of food, or you can eat in the restaurant, I usually grab one of their homemade sandwiches which are absolutely delicious. You can find them over near the restaurant in a cooler. The chicken salad is insanely good! At the end of the day it's all about the people. All the ladies I've run into behind the register are always very nice and display a positive attitude. That goes a long way with me. I can't really comment much on the amenities for truck drivers because I don't drive a truck. I do however see a lot of big rigs there so I assume things are decent. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, by the way if you're looking for jerky they got a whole wall full of it. read more

This is one of the better truck stops we've come across. Clean showers, clean restrooms, laundry, good food options, plenty of shopping, and a full-service repair shop for semis all in one location. The decor and overall atmosphere give it a unique feel that sets it apart from the big chain stops. Paid parking usually means the facilities are a step above, and that's definitely the case here. The property is well maintained, and it shows. A couple of minor issues kept it from being perfect. One of the washers was out of service during our visit, and the large pothole at the second entrance needs attention. Other than that, this is a great place to stop for a reset, a shower, a meal, or an overnight break. We'd happily stop here again. read more

Well lit. Clean. Friendly, helpful workers. Very nice selection of drinks and snacks.

Duke's was a nice little stop on my trip from Fort Worth to Little Rock. It was much less crowded than the Buccee's that I stopped at earlier, so it was a much nicer experience. The whole place was very clean and the bathrooms were pretty luxurious for a truck stop. The employees were friendly and it was stocked with a wide variety of drinks, snacks, sundries, and gifts. The cherry on top was the dog wash and tiny dog park - it was the perfect area for my dog to stretch his legs! read more

What a fantastic place for a stop! Right between Dallas and Little Rock, it's a great place to get out and stretch your legs. They have very clean restrooms, and a few little stores tucked in as well. You can get burgers, bbq, and fresh hand pies! They have donuts, and scones! You can also get beer and wine! 5 STARS read more

When me and the family are traveling out east this is one of must stops on the way. They have clean restrooms and everything you could possibly need from food, snacks and drinks for the whole family. They also have a Taco Casa inside for your Tex-Mex cravings. read more

We ain't here at Cotton belt barbecue. Not really sure what their goal is for barbecue, but they didn't even come close to bad barbecue in Texas. The ribs were dry overcooked. Brisket was fair. Carrots were hot vegetables were cold. Potatoes were cold. On our way out there were a couple of employees that looked like managers standing in front of the barbecue window. We told them what we thought and they did not even make a comment. Find a place that emphasizes making good barbecue and not selling a bunch of crap made in China. read more

I am blown away at the honesty sand friendliness of the employees at this location. Specifically Mr. Mike Hamzeh the manager and Hermina. I left my purse in the restroom. It had all my credit cards all cash and even jewelry. I came back through town I went to asked if it had been turned in and it was safe and sound in the office. Mr. Hamzeh handed it to me and told me that Hermina had turned it in. You don't find too much honesty in todays times so you can imagine how relieved and grateful I was. Thank you to the whole team at Dukes. I am a customer for life. Clean always has the best snacks and food and now the people. read more

Stopped here to pee, plus the mascot is cute. True to their word, they have a dog park and dog wash station near the entrance. Kinda cool if you're a pet owner. The restrooms are clean and reasonably fancy. Lots of trinkets you can purchase here, like t-shirts, hats, wall decor, keychains, can cozies, etc. and also food stuffs and beverages. There are a bunch of neat wood benches for sale outdoors too. A fun photo op with bronze bulls too. The employee that checked us out was amiable and we joked around with him about working retail jobs and how much those kind of customers-- you know the ones-- suck, LOL. read more

This place is a very welcome stop along the long I-30 beat down between Dallas and Little Rock. If headed east from Dallas, it is only about 70 miles from the Buccee's in Royse City. Well worth the wait, in my opinion. Duke's is cleaner, less crowded, and has plenty of food and beverage options. There is also a portion of the place dedicated to retail items much like Buccee's. I highly recommend this place as a clean welcoming place to stop along that grueling corridor of traffic. read more

The restrooms were clean. Helpful staff. Wonderful coffee! The little dog park is convenient except it needed to mowed.

A sweet gem off I-30 and Mt. Vernon and a much smaller scale than "you know who." Very clean bathrooms and a nice choice of different foods. Ie burgers, bbq or tacos. Cute home goods and decorations as well. read more

SOOOO clean and amazing array of food items to choose from. Staff are super friendly!

Did you know you get cup of coffee on the house at Duke's? That put a smile on my face as I held my cup of pumpkin spice latte The employees are all friendly, that's what Texas is all about, hospitality! Love the western ambiance, my husband bought 3 straw hats, the huge ones. We always have to stop here whenever we travel this way. They have yummy bbq and Mexican food too. read more

This was a pretty cool place to stop and stretch your legs. It's kind of like a Bucky's gas station and rest area, except about 1/3 the size. It has everything you might need for snacks and some supplies. Try the locally made beef jerky, it's delicious! They have enough gas pumps and restrooms to accommodate, and they have a few restaurants. We had some BBQ and it was very good. We stopped here going to and from Memphis and it was a welcome stop both times. read more

Wonderful pitstop! I drive the portion of I-30 multiple times a year. They have clean bathrooms. They have a family bathroom, which is a big deal when you have little ones. There are plenty of snacks and other food options. The coffee is fresh and hot. My favorite thing? They have a mini dog park! It's a little fenced in area where you can let your restless pup off the leash to do business. Which is awesome considering my 3 dogs want to pull across the landscape to find that one great spo read more

I make a trip on I30 and back 1-2 times a month. I have always enjoyed stopping at Duke's. It is a very clean store, and the restrooms are the cleanest I have ever encountered on Interstate 30. However, on my last 2 trips (during COVID-19 outbreak and Texas mask mandate), I noticed several customers not wearing masks. I felt that some travelers might have been from other states and not aware of the Texas mask mandate, but there wasn't even a sign on the door.to inform customers. I then noticed that the cashiers were not.masks. Duke's--Surely you can do better. Travellers need a safe and clean store. read more
