My husband & I have been visiting Brookshires for the past 21 years…read more We're grateful to have them in our community with the conveniece they provide. They still bag your groceries and will take them to your car if you like. The employees are helpful - especially the front office staff. Their selections still offer many of the popular brands. Their meat dept is always helping us with special cuts. The store is always clean and displays seasonal goods as well. We also like the inside pharmacy and our Bank for easy access. They have good weekly sales. Love their specials "Buy One and Get the Second one for a Penny". Thanks Brookshires for being there when needed!

Brookshire's is a small town grocery store that survives only because it's the only game in town…read more Has anyone noticed that since the company's wide "RESET" the overall enjoyment of shopping continues to decline. One step at a time the chain is cutting back, hoping we won't notice it or will just accept the change. Selection and service has taken a backseat to profit. Items that the store once carried are gone. Do you remember when a shopping excursion at Brookshire's consisted of cruising the isles, placing items in your buggy, pushing it up to the cashier checkout only to have the cashier open the cart and pull the groceries out one at a time and ring them up? Then a bagger would bag your groceries, push them to you car and load them either in the trunk or cab, which ever you preferred. Wow, that was awesome. Those two services were really the only perks that made Brookshire's worth the stop. But those days are gone, this Grocery Store chain has taken away the best part of itself. Customer Service. Now you must unload your own groceries onto a conveyor belt, just like every other store. Often you have to bag your own groceries and end up pushing your own cart to your car and loading them up. Why not just stop at another grocery store on your way home, one that offers greater selection and Lower prices? Brookshire's has become no better than Walmart. Only Walmart has a greater selection. I remember when Brookshire's was an average grocery store with great customer service. Now they are an average grocery store with sub par service. This has happened across the chain, not just my local store. Sad to see such a decline in its customer service.

This Walmart is a great store. For sure many people are used to many other stores to shop in if…read moretraveling through or whatever, and it is hard work to work in any retail environment, I know, but I think this store does an excellent job. I get very tired of some people saying negative things about stores that are really quite good. It is true that all employees should take pride in their work and spend less time being involved in things that are not work oriented, and that happens everywhere, but I have never had any issues at this store. It's a small town and offers other services, and this store tries. I'd like to know if those who are so quick to judge, so to speak, have ever worked retail? Complaining is easy when you can't see the bigger picture and yes, it would be nice to see a few other stores open, for the mental health of all people, instead of seeing businesses leave because they can. People need to work and big business needs to do its best to provide that instead of being unfair to communities who have served them well, and likely for a long time. You want more probably, but make do with what is available and stop complaining, they have a great selection, and their selection is up to corporate, and they seem to do a pretty good job as far as I'm concerned and the people who work there do what they are told, and sometimes that's like mission impossible, since some of us know how that works. The key is to stay focused as a worker and a consumer, so stop complaining and do your best it could be far worse so take your blinders off. This store has what you need more times than often, and the people I have seen working hard are doing their best! They are polite and always helpful. People are spoiled...they want this and that, or impose their superficial take on things, and well, most of us are there to shop, not show off and I find food, and the basics, and yes, they have auto service, so no, don't complain. This store is clean, and does its best, and that is that! Imagine what it is like to have to work hard for any company and restock shelves, lifting, pushing, tagging, etc, etc... and all the other things you as a consumer do not know about, so get over yourself, because this store does try, and I appreciate it and so should you. Grow your own apples if you think you can do better, go for it. Be grateful for things, and yes, we need a few more businesses here because the residents deserve that, not another coffee shop, and granola bars that cost $5.00, we need more than that, I can make my own coffee and do! We also need more smaller stores too, but this is a farming area, and big stores like Walmart who provide to this community are really great too, because farmers are very busy people and so is everyone else. The little man, he is the one who built this country, don't forget him or her and deserves a chance too, so see things for what they are, and remember, this store is a nice place to shop so respect it. Thank you.

As a poster-child of completely mediocre business models, it's hard to imagine a Wal-Mart location…read morewhere any aspect of the experience (products offered, service rendered, fellow shoppers encountered) is noteworthy. Other than the fact that there are very few alternatives in town, meaning it's likely you will see friends or neighbors, this iteration is no different. All the typical stereotypes and tropes apply, including having an absurdly limited number of open registers and a knack for discontinuing items as soon as you grow accustomed to purchasing them. That said, if you want quality organic produce when the local farmers' market isn't in season, this is just about the only place to get it. That alone saves it from one or two star oblivion - if only barely - but doesn't change the fact that shopping here feels more like a chore than anything remotely enjoyable.

Last month, my sister and I went to this location. After shopping, we went to the register. There was only one line open and there were four people in front of us. The two people directly in front of us were elderly Hispanic women. (I was getting mother and daughter vibes). The checker, Bethany, said "excuse me", while trying to get their attention. The two women were talking among themselves and didn't hear her. Bethany proceeded to yell louder and when they turned around, she said "yall can go to register one" The ladies were confused as there were no other checkers there...Bethany then yelled "one, register one" held up one finger and said "one, uno, it even looks the same". My sister and I looked at each other in shock, because we couldn't believe she was acting that way...now mind you, this was all in a condescending voice. Bethany then proceeded to talk about them to the lady she was checking out. When it was time for us to checkout, we weren't greeted, but instead, she started talking about how the lady before us couldn't get her stuff and put it on the counter to bag, but how she just had to do it right there. My sister and I said nothing...as we didn't want to become another victim of her griping! My sister put her card in, and Bethany said "oh finally, someone who has their card ready". We got our receipt, and she said "wow, thank you girls, you were the friendliest people I've had today"...this was in a sarcastic voice of course...I said "yeah, you've been super friendly, too". While we were bagging, she started talking about us to the next people who were checking out.... I turned and interrupted her and said "your customer service sucks"...she then proceeded to yell as us the whole way out the door! Absolutely shocking and horrifying! I can't believe someone who is so racist and who apparently hates people is working at the front of the store.

All the ladies I've run into behind the register are always very nice and display a positive attitude. That goes a long way with me. I can't really comment much on the amenities for truck drivers because I don't drive a truck. I do however see a lot of big rigs there so I assume things are decent. The decor and overall atmosphere give it a unique feel that sets it apart from the big chain stops. Paid parking usually means the facilities are a step above, and that's definitely the case here. The property is well maintained, and it shows. A couple of minor issues kept it from being perfect. One of the washers was out of service during our visit, and the large pothole at the second entrance needs attention. Other than that, this is a great place to stop for a reset, a shower, a meal, or an overnight break. We'd happily stop here again.
