We consider this garage door that this company installed not even a year and a half ago still "new" .. Second service call, this time it's the spring. They want $150 to replace it. Tech reassured us it's normal. Can't even tell you how many garage doors my husband and I have had through the years. It's not normal. Unless of course, the quality and service is lacking. Had a very efficient and professional experience with DGD. I called them on a Thursday around lunchtime, and they sent out someone to our home the next day around lunchtime as well. Ray Harmon was our technician, and he did a great job. He diagnosed the problem quickly and then offered us a clear breakdown of all the different options and prices. We ended up getting our ORB reinforced with a new bracket, which came out to $199 which we paid in cash. Everything from start to finish took about 30 minutes. Super grateful that this whole process was very quick and efficient, and Ray even lubricated all of our springs / brackets of our garage door afterwards. read more

A little over a year ago, we called GDG to replace our garage door motor. They were quick and courteous, and the installer gave us lots of information on how to maintain the door. We have gone through two hurricanes (2024), and after Milton noticed the door not functioning as quickly or smoothly as it used to. We called DGD to have someone look over the system and maintain what might be needed. Here is where things went wrong. Less than 24 hours before our appointment (an appointment scheduled 3 weeks prior), we got a vague reason for them needing to cancel, with the best option being to wait a few more weeks. Trying to understand and believe in the good nature of our first encounter, we agreed to reschedule. Today (11.16.24) was the new date. Now, hours before our appointment, we got the same call and a vague excuse. We canceled our plans, rescheduled our lives, and made sure to make today work for this reschedule. So, when I called to push back, the rep couldn't care less, was very apathetic, and literately told us, "Your repair doesn't have a high value, so it gets pushed back for others!" WHAT?! We have waited too long and rescheduled for pathetic reasons, and I believe my repair is valuable! This is not how business should work. No customer should be made to feel less than or not of value! This is how businesses lose customers, and they lost us! Go to a company that values you as a customer, no matter your repair or repair value, and is simply happy you chose them! read more

For no apparent reason the coil spring on my garage door broke. Called DGD at 4pm and spoke with a young lady dispatcher "Sky". She said they had a technician in the area and she would send him by for a free estimate. Service tech Michael K. arrived in about an hour. He had parts on his truck, gave me a fair price, and the spring was replaced by 7pm. Michael was competent, very pleasant and a pleasure to have in my home. Not sure about the negative reviews, but my experience was five stars plus! read more

Had a broken garage door spring . Mina from discount garage door came out same day and did a great job.

I called discount garage doors for them to check on my garage door opener. They stated the pulley was bad and not setup foe the size of the garage door. They stated this was a $400 repair with the parts. I thought this was pretty steep since a new garage door open cost around $300... but I did it anyways. This is for a rental property and the tenants needed it done. He quote unquote fixed it, however the moment he left, the garage door no longer worked. We called him back our, and he stated that we need ANOTHER part and that we had to order it. We ordered it, it was only $10. Finally got it, and now they've been toying with us for 2/3 weeks to come out and install it. They schedule is an appointment, then reschedule, and then the day before the finally scheduled day, they cancel. Absolutely, unprofessional in my opinion. I hired them in June because of a noisy door. The tech came back and said the rollers needed to be replaced. He gave me a price of about $250, I gave the go-ahead. I came back when he was done and found a bill for over $600. The charge for the rollers was $22.50 each. (Home Depot is $30. for 12) A local company quoted me $7.00/pc Insult to injury, he charged a 25% SURCHARGE FOR PARTS! I will file a complaint with both the BBB and the Florida Attorney Generals' office. To say there is no service charge ever and then charge me $115.00 for labor on a job that literally takes no more than 10 minutes (see youtube) is just another deception. I don't need a company such a this and neither do you. read more

I call Discount Garage Doors to take a look at a very old, very loud garage door opener. Raymond came by and gave us a quote to replace the outdated opener, replace springs and rollers. DGD installed my door about 6 years ago and it has worked flawlessly till the other night, when it wouldn't go up and it wouldn't go down. After a call to the the company the next morning they had a technician there within the next hour! He checked out the system, made a few small adjustments and lubricated the door and...voila! Working perfectly again. He showed me just how to lubricate the door myself, told me the right product to use, and instructed me to lube it about every three months. DGD were amazing. Needed to get the door on my mother's house either repaired or replaced before putting on the market, and was only in town for a little bit. I called and they were able to get me on the schedule for a quote the next day. Matthew gave me both quotes, and I learned more about doors than I thought I would. Once I decided to replace, again they were able to schedule for the next day, and Brandon was a total professional who did excellent work, despite a brief power outage. I called another company first, and while I was waiting for them to call back, I decided to call Discount Garage Doors. So glad I did. My call was answered and a time slot of between 4-7pm was available today. I was told to expect the technician to call me within an hour or so, which Matthew did. He arrived at 4:30, and was finished installing a new spring in about an hour. He even offered me a coupon to save a few dollars, which I happily accepted. He did not try to upsell or pressure me to replace other parts like some other companies. I will be needing a new garage door shortly and will definitely call this company again.
