Be aware. Be very aware. We had their service 3 months ago and were very happy. They replaced cables and did everything but the spring replaced. . BUT. Today had problems with door not opening or being able to get it open. It probably was a sensor problem. Repairman. Tried to upscale us and get us to pay for. New cables again. Either the cables replaced 3 months ago were done incorrectly or he was scamming us. Plus, they were not quite bright. They could have looked up our address and seen the previous work done. I got lucky when I spotted the bright colorful sticker on my garage door from Garage Service Today. The previous owners had them service the door. I called the Bradenton # and spoke to a gentleman that suggested that I call their main office. I was trying to find out if they had the manufacturer and model # of my garage door. YES, they did. In minutes Trina pulled up the details by my address. She was incredibly helpful with the information and the suggestion of contact CLOPAY for Wind Ratings for my Wind Mitigation Test. Trina was polite and exhibited the attitude that she would help me in any way that she could. So I would say this is one exceptional company. Spring broke on our garage door. We're in Peridia - Bradenton. Nobody ever thinks about garage doors till they break (me included). Anyway - called around - Long holiday weekend is coming up - 3 other companies all said I would have to wait till after the long weekend. Richard (owner?) at Garage Service Today said he would take care of it today! Great - In addition, this is a family business - we always try to support family companies when possible. So Caden the tech called first about an hour later - was here on time - showed me the problems, did the work - showed me what was done and now the garage door is running beautifully. To be honest, a one star is too much to be given to this company. The owner "Richard" if that is his real name was rude, obnoxious, and has the worst customer service reputation for a company that states - "Customer Satisfaction Remains our #1 Priority". That is a bunch of bullshit if you ask me! My mother had a garage door installed on Oct 22nd 2020 and the next day the garage door did not work. My mom called and explained the issue and was told she needed to pay an additional $500 for a new motor. Richard did not look at the motor nor was he on the property to see if it was even the motor that was the issue. When my mom said she was not going to pay an additional $500 Richard chuckled and said well that's just fine. She was furious with Richard's non nonchalant and non caring attitude that she hung up the phone. My mom is 75 years old and to be treated with such disrespect is beyond belief! I feel my mom was being taken advantage because of her age and you Richard should be ashamed!! I called today to remedy the situation and get some answers to the questions I had and Richard was again very rude and obnoxious! RUDE customer service. Called to get a quote on a new door and since it's a high priced door they said they would have to have his distributor give him a price. I had the exact model I wanted. Once he knew it was going to take him a little work he got rude and just threw out a ridiculous high price at me like I was wasting his time and I couldn't afford this door. What an A**. Called garage service today to check out our garage door. It would go up or down all the way. The tech came out looked and told my wife it was cables the pulled the door up that was caused the problems and it would be $300.00. My wife ask was he sure and he said yes. Well after he fixed the cables and realized it was still doing the same thing he then said it was the actual box that controls everything and it would be $500.00 to fix. $500.00 on top of what he already charged her for his misdiagnosed issue first. He should have just said well since you already paid 300 and it was my mistake just give me two hundred more and I'll fix the motor. NO! He wanted 300 on top of that. Our existing garage door opener (26 years old) was giving us fits, remote would not work, lights did not work, etc. Called this firm on Friday and Monday they were here at 11AM. Evaluated problems and advised that our unit cannot be repaired, circuit board, etc. Asked for a quote to install entire new unit which was reasonable and the worker, Tyler, who we cannot say enough good things about, immediately went to work dismantling old and installing new. Within an hour an entire new unit was in place, with outside remote and 2 clicker units working. Tyler was incredibly professional, efficient, thorough and explained the entire working of the unit and was gone within total 1-1/2 hours. I give them 5 stars and would not hesitate to recommend to all needing garage door repairs. read more

This company, Garage Service Today, ( 941 955-9441) has always responded in a timely manner and with good results. Today, Richard came to replace a board in the control unit, we thought it might have been burned out, however, that did not fix it. After troubleshooting the problem he did not give up or try to sell me a whole new unit for $450.00, rather, he said.. "let me check one more thing.." he found the problem by checking the wiring to the sensors and sure enough, he found the wire was shorting out during the down cycle of the door, He repaired the wire and the door is working as it should. We called late afternoon on a Friday in May after my husband backed up into the garage door as it was going up. He broke the chain with his car roof. It had to be repaired because we could not open or close the garage door. We called Garage Service Today. They came out within 2.5 hours. Two guys came out and repaired the door within about 1 hour. We got 2 new remotes and a new keypad - both of which we needed. One of the features of the new LiftMaster opener is that you can open or close the door from anywhere in the world with an app on your smart phone. A few weeks later my wife was in Italy. I stayed in the states. As we talked on the phone, I asked her to try to open and close the garage door from Italy. It worked ! From Italy ! Also, the cell phone app will alert you if your garage door has been opened if you are not home. The garage door technicians helped us set up the cell phone app before they left for the evening.
