Great place to stop off for food, TX things, and petro. It's a nostalgic country vibe inside, with lots of TX merchandise for the out of towers. Grab some Texas sauces, jerky, shot glasses, and tshirts. The fudge is great with lots of flavor choices. They also have some food choices, but I prefer the fabulous BBQ baked potato. We made a special stop to buy the fried pies, and were very disappointed with the pies. On a brighter note, Dukes is worth the stop. Want bbq? They've got it. Basically it's a very well done Buc-ee's style convenience store and gas station. Located just off I20 its a great rest stop. Don't miss it. The "Original Fried Pie" is a decades old business, that makes fruit and meat fried pies. They've always been worth going out of our way to pick up. Well, not any more. We ordered cherry, coconut, and apricot fried pies. The quality of these pies have really gone down hill. They are still expensive, but a lot smaller. The filling is a fraction of their former serving amount. The crust lacks flavor, and the filling easily soaks through. My message to the pie company is simple, if you can't do it right, stop! You are trashing your reputation with these pies. read more
