If I could give it 0 stars I would. Waited 4 hours for a 10 min appt to get one eye dilated and checked. Ridiculous.

The Summit Eye Care staff work like a well-oiled machine to get through their busy day, and by the…read moreamount of patients that they have, it is an obviously popular practice. They offer a variety of specialized services and procedures, too. The ambiance is very calm and quiet, kept clean, and it is decorated nicely. I absolutely ADORE my Optometrist, Dr. Keith Biggs. He is patient, professional, and precise. He has been my doctor since 2019 and I can't ever see switching to anyone else. If you're in the Piedmont Triad and looking for GREAT eye care, Summit Eye Care is the place to checkout. I wholeheartedly endorse them, and Dr. Biggs.

We have had other frustrating experiences with Summit Eye Care, including hour long waits past our…read morescheduled appointment, while those experiences were frustrating, what happened this time has been the most disappointing yet. My mother's eye appointment was scheduled approximately ONE year in advance for 10:15 a.m. The day before the appointment, we received a call stating that it needed to be rescheduled because the doctor had a "full" day and the appointment would take 60-90 minutes, but he needed to leave for lunch at 11:00 a.m. How is an appointment booked a year in advance without accounting for the amount of time needed to complete it? A full schedule and a planned lunch break are not unexpected circumstances. This should have been addressed when the appointment was scheduled, not the day before. This is not just a matter of inconvenience. My mother needs appropriate medical eye care. We live approximately 45 minutes away, so I carefully coordinate multiple appointments on the same day to minimize travel and avoid having to take additional days off work. We already had other appointments scheduled, including one for my son that afternoon. The alternative times offered did not work with our existing commitments, and I ultimately had to accept an appointment for a different day. Now, I may have to take another day off work because of a scheduling issue that was not our fault. Our time, work responsibilities, and family commitments matter, too. I understand that unexpected situations happen, and I acknowledge that the office offered alternative appointment times. However, notifying a patient just one day before an appointment that was scheduled a year ago because the doctor's schedule was not properly accommodated is unacceptable. Between the previous hour-long waits and now this last-minute rescheduling, I am seriously questioning the office's consideration for its patients' time. **Patients should not have to repeatedly absorb the consequences of scheduling issues that could have been prevented.** I do want to make it clear that the personnel and staff have always been great to work with, and I have no animosity or ill will toward any individual. This review is not meant to attack anyone personally. My frustration is with the scheduling and the way this situation was handled. I appreciate the staff members who have been kind and helpful, and I do not want that appreciation to be overshadowed by my concerns about how appointments are managed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to how appointments are scheduled and managed. Patients deserve better communication, consideration, and respect for their time.

I have been visiting this office for cataract care over the last 2 months. From the first visit I…read morewas made to feel comfortable and at ease. Every person on the staff, front desk to assistants are amazingly friendly and Sean is an asset to the team! My case hasn't been simple, yet Dr Nagy has handled every 'bump in the road' with professionalism and more importantly, compassion, as this can be intimidating when you're dealing with your eyesight. He is warm and has such a quiet confidence that I am immediately put at ease, knowing that he will make sure that the outcome is exactly what I expected. I would and will gladly refer any one of my friends to this office for their care. Thank you!

I honestly don't understand how a medical office can make patients feel this unwelcome. From the…read moremoment I walked in, the entire experience felt rushed and impersonal. Patients seemed to be moved from one room to another as quickly as possible, with very little time to ask questions or actually feel like anyone was listening. The staff seemed more focused on getting through the next patient than making sure the person in front of them was comfortable or understood what was happening. I left feeling like a number instead of a patient. The woman who appeared to be in charge, Ginny, was especially off-putting. Her attitude came across as dismissive and made me feel like the financial side of the business was more important than the people receiving care. Overall, I found the experience extremely frustrating and disappointing. I expect a healthcare provider to show at least some basic concern for its patients, and I did not feel that was the case here. I will not be returning to Hawthorne Eye Associates, and I would not recommend them based on my experience.
