Oral health is so very important. I've been going to First Choice Community Dental for about the…read morelast 4 years. I served 4 years in the United States Air Force, and the care that I receive at this clinic reminds me of the care that I got while in the USAF. There a few differences in the way they handle business from a normal private practice. One, they mail you a postcard when it's time for a visit. I have found once you call to make an appointment, it's almost 3 months out for booking. That's my only negative about this place. Two, you have 3 appointments per year. One appointment is for an examination where you see the doctor and get X-rays, and the other two are cleaning visits with the hygienist. They have a smooth, efficient process. Angela has been my hygienist the last few times. She is gentle and thorough with her cleanings. She even offers helpful tips for better oral health. Dr. Jackson is fantastic, too. They record and take very good care of my oral health.

Tech told me it takes a day or two. Well I called on day two (Friday) and no results. (At urgent care it takes less than an hour). The MA told me they would mail me the results and to go to urgent care or the ER. WTF? Are they going to wait until I die to let me know I have a UTI? Currently 4 doctors and they are understaffed. Soon to be two doctors. My advice: RUN! Find anywhere else you can. These people care not about your health.

What I like most is that she will take the time to answer every question and help you find answers that work for you. Dr. Barlow has been my doctor for quite some time. I think I was one of her first patients. If you can't see Dr B then Elizabeth Rudolphi is an excellent NP. I highly recommend Dr. Barlow.

She spends the time needed to hear the problems and to explain the issues, engaged with all the myriad data points every time I have an exam (imagine doing that for every patient; I know that she does because I'm acquainted with a few others of her patients and we all marvel about this) and yet at the same time she always brings a positive/encouraging friendly/kind/caring demeanor that is attentive to the smallest issues and patiently gracious even with the eccentricities of difficult patients (ask how I know). Her staff is professional and kind in person, and you'll generally get a same-day reply from Dr. Barlow or her staff (never later than the next day!) when you send an inquiry through the MyChart system. Dr. Barlow not only gives good, targeted referrals for specialist care, she follows up to make sure that care was provided to her standards. Dr. Barlow comes across as a wonderful caring friend - my wife and I think it's almost a miracle that we'd be blessed to know a physician who's both so razor-edge sharp and yet such a lovely person.

I've tried for years (since summer 2020) with this clinic. Today I gave up and I urge others to do…read morethe same. I have experienced providers constantly leaving; an aggressive confrontational Doctor who didn't like the fact I was educated; a case where a provider prescribed the wrong medicine, resulting in a medical emergency; one doctor at their westside clinic disparaged my mode of dressing; others totally treated me like a second class patient because I am a person of color. Today I had a conversation with one of their administrators, Mr. Green, who had promised me a phone call back 4 weeks ago, he said he would get my Mounjaro prescription sorted out even if it meant prescribing it for another condition (!) ... when I reminded him of this he just hemmed and hawwed, and changed the subject, complained that I had the gall to report that one of their providers approached me in a racist manner, and I had said so to their face! Well, duh, as if his staff is above reproach; this sort of current cultural criticism is valid and I stand by it. I often got second class care because of my identity and public presentation. I experienced bad things at Duke City and I must say something about that. This place is a prime example of what is wrong with our nation's healthcare system and it would not be wrong of me for others to follow suit and turn the page on this flawed clinic. 1

Went here Saturday with a very sore throat- they got me in the same day that I called, diagnosed strep, called in a prescription, and set me loose in less than 45 mins. Their receptionist is SO compassionate here, she made me feel like someone really cared that I didn't feel well- how nice for a change to be something other than an insurance group #. They are located in the same building as the hospital, but their entrance is to the left of the emergency doors, not the right (otherwise you can wander around for a bit in the dark...story of my life! ) I'm glad to have these folks nearby!

On top of that, items fall through the cracks so you may need to contact them multiple time to get basic items complete. So imagine this: you make an appointment because a pacemaker needs a new battery, the doctor at the appointment says talk to the front desk, the front desk says they'll call you, they never do, so now you're stuck playing phone call tag at 45 minutes a pop and half the time they never call you back anyway. How many hours of hold time do you need to endure to get the necessary medical service scheduled after you already made and went to an appointment for this exact purpose? This is not hypothetical. This is hours of your time going down the drain because MANNM won't hire people or make basic investments in technology.

Attention Caroline Kingston, Carlos Trucco…read more I recently received a highly inappropriate letter from Mr. Trucco to which I am responding and notifying my legal counsel. I had an appointment on April 11 with Ryan Brison to review labs. An abnormality was detected in the urinalysis for which Ryan wrote a script for an antibiotic to be picked up at my local pharmacy in Taos. He also had me provide another sample, which I did. Not receiving any results or a call , I called and was told by the receptionist that the "manager" would review the results and have Ryan call me. No call . I called once again , and spoke to Trucco, who was quite unhelpful and in fact was "rude" himself. He denied that there was a second sample taken. His listening skills are far from a professional standard needed in a medical practice. I received a letter from him today, claiming that I was "again" rude and threaten to terminate me from the practice. There was no previous interaction. Rather then offering an apology, i was presented with denial and offered to return to Sante Fe for another sample. He never even considered suggesting that a referral could be made to Holy Cross hospital and easily obtained by your practice. I highly resent his unprofessional conduct, while also noticing no CC. to the DR. Kingston. I would recommend a disciplinary action. I wish to make it clear that this is not directed to Ryan, just Mr. Trucco's conduct
