Dugan's Pub quickly became one of our favorite stops in downtown Little Rock. We were looking for a place with good food and a relaxed atmosphere, and it delivered on both. The first thing that caught my attention was the authentic Irish pub feel. The dark wood, stained-glass accents, cozy fireplace, and traditional décor create a welcoming space that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. We happened to visit while Team USA was playing in the FIFA World Cup, and the pub was packed with fans cheering throughout the match. The energy in the room made the experience even more memorable. I ordered the hand-battered chicken tenders and fries, and they were excellent--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the fish and chips and kept saying they reminded him of the fish and chips he had while traveling in Ireland. We also shared an order of bangers and mash, which was rich, hearty, and exactly what you'd expect from a classic Irish pub. Whether you're stopping in to watch a match, enjoy a meal, or simply experience one of Little Rock's most inviting pubs, Dugan's Pub is well worth a visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Little Rock. read more

Generally I don't like doing poor reviews, but I do want to alert readers to things that might disrupt their experiences. While the menu at this Irish Pub looks appetizing, the Irish Stew was underwhelming. This is definitely a place to come and have some drinks (or judging by most of the patrons we saw that night we stopped in, LOTS of drinks). The place also had a much more rustic feel than most Irish pubs, so now you know. read more

Dugan's Pub - A rather bland Irish Stew - Irish Near Me - Little Rock, Arkansas

Conveniently located next to my hotel in downtown Little Rock. I did not feel like walking very far after having run a half marathon earlier in the day! I sat at the bar and ordered a steak salad and a Guinness. Perfect for this type of establishment. The kitchen was a little slow, but my bar tender was nice enough. You can see in the picture the massive amount of bleu cheese to lettuce - it was a little too much! But the steak was super on par. read more

Came here while walking around the downtown area. And so glad that we did. Our server Ronan was hands down the best we've had. Very knowledgeable of the food & beverage options & we lacked for nothing while here. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and inviting. At no point did we feel rushed while we were here. The food and drinks were amazing. We will most certainly put this on our must do list if we are ever in the area again. read more

Steak salad was awesome! Loved the salty cheese and homemade blue cheese dressing with a medium cooked steak slices. I highly recommend this. Cup of potato soup was creamy but imo needed a little more salt. Service was friendly and attentive. Iced tea was a little weak and needed more sugar imo. Overall, I would return. read more

Checked out our fave Irish pub for their Wednesday lunch special (meatloaf) and were not disappointed! Typically comes with macaroni and cheese, cob corn, and green beans; we subbed the corn for a double helping of better than typical mac, and the beans were extremely well seasoned (pork present, not vegetarian). We added a cup of potato soup (soup of our people), fully dressed, which was creamy and delicious and had two chunks of bread for dipping. The meatloaf was well-textured, well-sauced, and piping hot. Swoon and drool! Paired with two pints of draft Guinness, whilst seated on the stage corner of the pub, we had excellent people viewing and a lovely waitress to complete the wonderful Wednesday outing. We will repeat! read more

My friends and I were a table of 6 on a very busy night but we ended up in a lovely quiet corner so we could chat and hear each other. Service was top notch and I really enjoyed their menu. I had the veggie sandwich which was delicious and my friends enjoyed a variety of entrees. My friends had a few pints, but also wine by the glass or a straight mix cocktail. TL:DR - Cute divey neighborhood pub with great food! read more

The food at Dugan is amazing! The service is wonderful. They are very friendly. The ambiance this is like almost authentic irish bar that you can get it. I had me a Finnegan steak sandwich and it was great. I always love to go there anyway so this is something different to try. read more

it's been a few years since i've been to Dugan's pub... i was very disappointed in the food but especially the service. nobody smiled was welcoming and I went out of my way to try to be nice and positive, but it was like talking and looking at a bunch of grumpy people. I'll stick with O'Malley's in Conway next time..... not sure what happened to Dugan's but not the same place. I remember a few years ago. read more

This spot was recommended by a coworker who had been here before, and it was a great recommendation. I'm really not usually a fan of Irish pubs -- I don't generally like Irish beer. However, they had a local seasonal stout on top that was absolutely fantastic. A coworker asked our server to bring their favorite stout and while I can't remember what it was, it hit the spot completely. We all agreed it was fantastic. While we were driving to Dugan's, I started taking a look at their menu online. I haven't had a ton of fresh veggies on the trip, so I really just wanted something like a giant hearty salad... ask and you shall receive, apparently! Right on their digital menu (they have physical menus at the restaurant) was an amazing looking green salad with a generous helping of steak. Naturally, I ordered the steak salad. It didn't come with a set dressing, so I opted for balsamic. I wasn't particularly wild about their balsamic dressing, but it wasn't bad (just not my favorite). I still ate every last possible ounce of the salad. The steak was really juicy and well (as in good) cooked. Salads don't usually fill me up, but this certainly did. My travel mate also enjoyed their food -- one ordered the pork chops and the other the grilled salmon. Our server had great recommendations, was very attentive throughout, and was just overall enjoyable to talk to. I certainly recommend this place. read more

Let me begin by saying my son and I had a wonderful experience here. Our server Ronan was amazing. Ronan was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us excellent advice on what to order. I believe that our visit would not have been quite the same without Ronan. The food was great. I ordered the shepherds pie and my son ordered the bangers and mash. Both dishes were excellent. I highly recommend the bangers and mash because the potatoes and the gravy are amazing! I could literally come here and order just the potatoes and mushroom gravy and be happy! Both meals came with a hearty piece of bread as well. For beverages I chose a Bailey's coffee and my son ordered a hot cider. We both enjoyed our drinks which made excellent compliments to our food. Parking was a little bit difficult, but the overall experience made it worth the extra effort in parking. We will definitely be back again to try something new if I can get past ordering those mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy that is. The food was brought to us by Delana, who was also very nice, but Ronan followed up with us several times during and after we finished our meal. The service was excellent. My son and I are very happy with our experience. The only thing you may need to know is that they don't have tap to pay or a chip reader on their card machine, so be prepared to bring your card with you for swiping if you don't carry cash. read more

I usually love this place, thus the 4 stars. But I would warn against getting the kid's chicken tenders. It's a $3 up charge for adults. I was expecting the same tenders as the full meal, just fewer of them (which would be good for a lunch portion). I've had the chicken tenders before and was craving them today. Instead got 4 tiny bits of chicken and a side of fries. This was $13 after tax and before tip. One of the biggest disparities between price/ portion I've experienced in a long time. read more

Tried this place again for convenience. This time I wandered off the beaten path and took the waiter's recommendation; the shepards pie. The consistency was good and taste was fine. But half of it was room temperature and the other half was scalding hot. I'm not sure what cooking process produces that effect. I think this place is probably just best for drinking and the half hot shepards pie is best eaten while intoxicated. read more

Great food, portions, portions and atmosphere they have a Bloody Mary barI will definitely go back

I would not recommend this establishment based on service and food. While staying in town nearby at a hotel I decided to have dinner and a couple drinks. I was told that there was a CO2 issue which prevented the ability from getting any draft beer or soft drinks. I then within 5 minutes watched the bar tender pour several draft beers and soft drinks for other customers sitting at the bar. My wife's food then came out cold and very bland. read more

Pub is still good for beer and meeting random travelers in the River Market - plus some locals! - but the food has gone way, way, way downhill in the last year or two. It used to be a favorite eating place. A couple of months ago we ordered the steak salad that used to be really so good - and....not so good that time. We decided to try again last night with a burger - hard to to wrong, huh? Wrong. The first try came out absolutely raw in the middle-I dug it out and displayed it on my plate for the wait person to see. She was really angry and surly that I interrupted a lengthy chat she was having - back turned to the restaurant - with the man operating trivial pursuit and a table close to his stage. When the second burger came out, the "meat" was no longer raw--but what WAS it? You could pull the meat into long, gristly, fatty strands....Disgusting, really. So we left the food, sat at the bar, ordered another beer and chatted up someone traveling through town. read more

This was a terrible shepherd's pie. The ground beef was minced so finely it had the consistency of kinetic sand--kinetic sand adrift in a greasy pool of its own making. The only vegetable I could detect was a lone, wayward carrot that clearly took a wrong turn en route to another dish. The mashed potatoes had the texture of peanut butter and served about as well as gauze sopping up a wound. Topping it all was a square slab of sliced cheddar draped over like a blanket hastily thrown across a corpse. Have the chefs at Dugan's Pub ever actually seen a shepherd's pie? Do they have eyes at all? For an Irish pub, this is disgraceful. My ancestors would be weeping. read more

I don't know what's happening to restaurants in the Little Rock area, but a lot them are going down hill. Dugan's pub was no exception. They served us cold fries with rancid coleslaw... Yes rancid coleslaw. Not to mention their hamburgers start at 18 dollars... Insane. read more

Boyfriend and I were visiting Little Rock for our 4 year anniversary and were looking for a late night meal when we discovered Dugan's Pub. They were running a deal on Busch Light, but ran out of bottles by the second beer. Took a bit for us to get our drinks and the food took quite a while as well for the quality. House salad was honestly the best thing out of our whole order. The bread & butter was ice cold and had little to no flavoring. The menu said you could substitute fries for your side free of charge which was extremely misleading since our waitress said it was an up-charge. Regardless, the fries were soggy, flavorless, and room temperature. Shepherds Pie was cold in the center and sitting in a pool of greasy sauce, and the sad slice of American cheese on top didn't do it any favors. Staff was nice, but took their time coming back to our table and seemed to be done for the night. Very unlikely to return if we are ever in the area again... read more

All of Ireland is wailing. That this place tries to pass itself off as an Irish pub is a travesty. Avoid it. We were staying a night at a close-by Hampton Inn, and Dugan's is one of the places within walking distance. Not the best neighborhood, but we ventured out and did the short walk. The whole reason we came here was my wife saw Irish stew on the menu and really wanted that. Oh boy. If we knew what was to come.... First off, the place is like a cross between a pub and a sports bar, with a large, semi-circle bar and big, padded chairs. Not really what I think of as "pub", but whatever. The main feature of the place, though, is the World's Stickiest Floor. Seriously, this should be a Guinness World Record. I took a photo, but unfortunately you can't really get the glue-like intensity. Disgusting. Our server was nice, but clueless. Inattentive. We could see into the kitchen, and he really liked to hang out on his phone there. Had to flag him down or ask other servers multiple times. So, that Irish stew my wife so badly wanted. Cold. Not even tepid - flat out cold. Sent it back and it was returned clearly microwaved. Like someone forgot to plug in the pot they keep it in and it went cold. Terrible. I got the Anaheim Turkey, as it looked to me like a dish they might have a hard time screwing up. It was not that bad, so maybe that was the case, and a reason to keep Dugan's out of one star zone. Large cut fries with it did not add anything. There was live music, if you want to call it that. Way off key vocalist. Contributed to the vibe of awfulness. Ireland will be coming for this place to have its name removed... read more

Stopped in for dinner this evening for the first time while in Little Rock. It was right around the corner from my hotel so I went with convenience and wasn't disappointed. I had a cup of the creamy potato soup and the BLT. I upgraded to brussel sprouts instead of fries. The peppered bacon on the blt was delicious and I appreciated there wasn't a 3 inch layer of lettuce on it like other restaurants. The brussel sprouts tasted great but they were drenched in the sauce. It was overwhelming and I didn't finish them all because of it. My mom had the burger and she enjoyed it along with the fries. Brooke was our server and she was extremely friendly and attentive. She refilled our drinks multiple times without us even having to ask. When the soup was a little late, she apologized for the delay. I appreciated her acknowledgement of the delay because when people don't say anything...it annoys me! Overall, the experience was great and I would definitely go back. It is also a great place to catch a game since they have several large TVs. read more

Just arrived here for the first time! We were recommended to come here from our previous bar, the flying saucer. That place was SO amazing. We just knew this place had to be better. It wasn't. It was okay. We got some Jalapeños as an appetizer they were okay too small to pick up one with your fingers. Then the tragedy happens. I was drinking a hot chocolate Christmas drink. When I noticed a dark spot in my drink. Thinking it's chocolate, I mixed it up and didn't see it, so I drank some more. Then it came back.. I used my knife, and sure enough, it was a FLY in my drink. the server did NOT take it off the bill. So that was not nice. But before that. It was a good drink. But for $10 he could have given us some sort of discount something... read more

Nice little pub. Good service. They were busy and a little understaffed but the team was all hustle! The bangers were, well, bangin! Crispy casing with a good bite. The sausage inside was moist and tender. Nice contrast. The mash was a little heavy on black pepper but the texture was nice and the gravy was good. The potato soup was creamy. Silky actually. The potatoes were cooked but not mushy. The Guinness was exactly the perfect paring and at a perfect temperature. There are plenty of options on the menu beyond a traditional pub menu. The kids menu was small but covers the basics so family friendly. Really well done. read more

If you are up late & hungry, this is definitely the spot. I ordered beer battered and fried mushrooms, some Brussel sprouts, and a veggie burger. The veggie black bean burger with the horseradish sauce ended up being my favorite thing of the three things we ordered that night. The fries that came with it were also pretty good. So I'd say the food and drinks here are actually decent. Shoutout to the chef and bartender. The bartender's service was solid ASF. I was in the mood for a mixed rum drink and she whipped me up a very yummy rum punch. She was knowledgeable, quick, and thorough. All in all, though, I had a difficult time getting over the smell and the grime of the place. The bar area was definitely visibly filthy. And it had the smell of a bar that's never truly been cleaned. A lot of the tables further away from the bar were also dirty. Although the food is good, ideally, this isn't a good atmosphere for eating at all!! If you eat here, get your food to go!!
