We started with a bread board, the sourdough was delicious and all the butters were good but not near enough butter for the amount of bread. Which kinda defeats the purpose. For entrees I went with the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup (potato). The birria grilled cheese was full of flavor and would have been great if the bottom piece of bread was not burnt to an absolute crisp. Of course they plated it burnt side down to hide it. The soup was the worst of all the food we had. It was like a baked potato blended into much with no flavor. My wife had a lemon/wine sauce fettuccine with chicken. The pasta had a distinct flavor of lemon but very little sauce. The chicken was not well seasoned and appeared to be some little chunks of dark meat which was overall unappetizing. Also I had a clue soda (sparking water with lime) and the they charged me $4 for this. This is my drink everywhere I go and am never charged unless I get a bottle of topo Chico instead of regular club soda. It was rang up as a (lime mint soda?) We skipped desserts based off how the food experience was going, so can't speak to their desserts. 3 stars because there is potential but need to focus on the kitchen.

I was surprised to see that they offered tours on Saturday nights. I made sure to have dinner beforehand and I'm happy that I did. I took an Uber from my hotel, but they do have a small parking lot out front. There is a maximum of 18 people for the tour. Our tour guide (spirit guide) was Abi. She was so knowledgeable and funny. She made the tour very interesting and was able to answer everyone's questions. I really enjoyed learning about the science of distilling. We got to see the barrels, bottling room, and the still house where the giant copper still and fermentation tanks are located. The tour ended in the private tasting room where we sampled an array of whiskeys, vodkas, and liqueurs. I am not a whiskey drinker, but when in Rome...lol. They had spittoons on each table that we were able to pour unwanted liquor into. We were also given small bottles of water. We were supposed to try 8 samples, but there was an extra one on the table so we ended up sampling 9. I enjoyed the flavored vodkas (salted vanilla and blueberry) as well as the liqueurs (creme de cacao, butterscotch, and coffee - which was my absolute favorite)! We were able to keep the shot glass as a souvenir. I didn't have any cash to tip Abi, but I was able to tip via Venmo. Additionally, we were offered a 15% discount on merchandise. After the tour, I sat at the bar and had a cocktail. Cole was the bartender working and he was super friendly. I had a cocktail called You've Got Mail and it was very refreshing! I was chatting with some people next to me about Negronis when Cole asked me if I had ever tried a Boulevardier (I hadn't). He explained to me that it's a Negroni made with whiskey instead of gin. He ended up making me a sample Boulevardier with the coffee liqueur. Wow, it was so good!! If you like coffee, try the coffee Boulevardier and thank me later. I had a great time at Rock Town. If I were a local, I would be a regular. If I'm ever in Little Rock again, I will definitely be making a stop at Rock Town!

We ordered the boquerones appetizer and those anchovies on a simple baguette with roasted red bell pepper and finishings was one of the simplest and finest snack I have ever had. They reminded me of the chlebíčky (open-faced sandwiches) we had in Prague, Czech Republic. I had never had an anchovy quite like that before. Definitely an elite fishy! I ordered the roasted pork shoulder with the Czech potato dumplings and red sauerkraut. My husband order the Bratwurst and kraut. All of the items were tasty and comforting. I love it!  I have trouble keeping up with her sometimes. The humidity here in Arkansas is so different from where we live. We instantly start to sweat. My grandmother told me something super weird that I had never heard her say befor. She said that her armpits started to smell like bacon. She worked in a military M.A.S.H. unit so she knows a little something. She said when the bacteria breaks down the sweat they form products called thioalcohols, which have scents comparable to sulfur, onions or meat.  She told me the only cure for that is to drink alcohol. So we went in to Little Rock to purchase a couple bottles of wine.  If they had her brand of tequila I would have purchased a bottle of that too. Party on. I found one of the best liquor stores that would rival anything we have in Las Vegas. The staff is super friendly, the people working behind the counter are unbelievably knowledgeable and they all acted like board firemen ready to help you with anything.  I hate when I find great locations like this so far from where I live because now I pass judgment on the liquor stores by our house. This liquor store, Sullivant's, has a great selection of different wines from International winery's. My grandmother will primarily drink red wine from Portugal and tequila from Jalisco.  I found a red wine that was very acceptable to my grandmother.  My grandmother definitely got her pre party on and I had to remotely drive her wheelchair because I do not think she could have stayed on the sidewalk. Is my grandmother an alcoholic? I don't care at her age what difference does it make. She is consuming life and enjoying every moment of it. She talks about not wanting to be in a senior citizen center playing bingo and arguing with Dorothy about blankets. She wants to be out in the world eating, drinking and watching the sunset from some remote location.  Sullivan's liquor store was the perfect place to pick up several bottles of wine for my grandmother. I wish I would have more time to go through there because the photos I took looks like they have a wonderful selection. I didn't even have a chance to get over to their huge refrigerator of beer's. Solivant's liquor store if you had a location in Las Vegas you would definitely rival the competition. Your customer service was on point and I could have stayed talking longer if I had only left the air conditioner on in the car. Keep up the great work and glad you guys are providing a wonderful service to the community and my grandmother.

Shocked, I say! **I had to ding a star - while I love this place and every positive thing I and every other reviewer has said is absolutely true, I've been in two or three times now and they didn't have the beers I was looking for. Still a great place, but it is simply too small to keep a true variety of offerings regularly stocked. It's a teeny, tiny place smack in the middle(ish) of Hillcrest, and it's one of the single most popular stores in the area, especially on a hot day. I personally love their beer fridge, because it's refreshing on a hot day, a shocker on a cold one, and it is full to the brim of delicious, scrumptious, well-traveled, filling, refreshing, beautiful beer. They have stacks of Diamond Bear and Lost Fourty, as well as a wide variety of brews from our neighbors across state lines, in all directions. I've found everything from local favorites on my to-try list, to obscure familiar bottles from my past lives in Portland (i.e. Rogue "Dead Guy"), San Francisco (i.e. Anchor Lager), and in between. They strike the same balance of local love, neighborly sharing, and reasonable selection in their wine and liquor shelves too - something that's all the more shocking because this shop is *tiny* I go here to get my wife's favorite wines, my favorite beers, and something or other to have under my arm to impress any host from a dinner party connoisseur to an indiscriminate guzzler. The location is a really nice perk on First Thursday (the first Thursday of every month) where you can walk up and down Hillcrest and be greeted with complimentary gifts from businesses, but also because it's a rare occasion where you can have a beer on a public street. I've also had consistently great experiences heckling and/or chatting with the staff here, although I don't think I've ever seen the same people twice!
