This is a great Tack shop. My daughter (12 years old) is getting back into riding after about 2…read moreyears so she needed boots, gloves and pants so she can get back to it. We went to Weathervane Tack shop after looking up a couple of places. My daughter read reviews for this place that sounded very nice and the distance was good (only 23 mins from Seekonk MA). We arrived and we're greeted by the owner. His name is Frank, he was very helpful in finding us what we needed and was also very kind to offer items that were reasonable for the amount of riding my daughter will be going for now. He also told us about his frequent visitor program. He made us a card that stays in the shop and after 6 trips to the shop he will give us a gift card with a total of 10% of the total purchases. My daughter and I had a great experience Frank has a very well stocked store with everything one would need to take care of their horses or ponies and even other animal needs as well. It will definitely be the go to Tack shop for us going forward! Thanks for your help Frank!

As I've only been riding for the last four years, I decided it was time. When I arrived, it was the owner and one other customer. I had walked in and kindly asked if Frank provided the service of measuring my head. When I asked that question, he had asked what I meant, and then I repeated myself. After that, I was answered rudely with, "Are you going to buy anything?" Not knowing how to respond, I stated that if I found the right product, I'd be more than happy to purchase a helmet from him, as it seemed like he had a great selection of helmets. He was cashing someone out, so I waited patiently and walked around to see what else the store had. Some context here: I'm 18 and look a bit younger than a usual 18-year-old would. After our brief conversation, I walked around the store while I was waiting. While I paused, I overheard the owner saying how I was in the wrong place for that sort of thing if I wasn't going to buy anything. He also said how my generation is rude and comes in "demanding things." I was never raised to disrespect my elders or speak in such a manner, so I don't know what went wrong in this situation. It was such an unfortunate interaction because I was genuinely looking for some assistance in hopes of buying new attire. It really is so unfortunate because of the great reviews everyone else has left, and from what I've heard from people who have been going to him for years. I wish I had the interaction as everyone else did :(

Purchased 2 pairs of riding pants, a riding vest, a tote and a saddle pad...$300+. Let's face it, equestrian outfitting is expensive no matter where you shop. Still, they have a nice selection and the staff is SUPER helpful and friendly. Some of these places can be pretty snobbish just because they cater to the horsey crowd and many of those customers are obnoxious elitists too. Not so here. They will bend over backwards to find what you need and even advise on where you might find it inexpensively if they can't supply the item. I'm only taking away the one star because of the stuffiness and heat in the store. Some fans to move the air would have been great. I'm not big on air conditioning per se, however it's a concrete building they're in and it felt quite closed in. One ancient a/c unit was wheezing away in a far back window, but wasn't having much effect at all. The location is a bit off the beaten path. Whenever we visit, it seems out of business, but when you walk in, there's plenty of merchandise. I'd like to see some more signage and maybe some flowers in a planter, something to make the establishment more lively and welcoming from the exterior. It's too nice of a place to pass by!

I then ordered some half chaps online from Dover Saddlery, but unfortunately, these didn't fit right. I discovered there is actually a Dover Saddlery store location in Wellesley and brought in my half chaps to exchange them for something else. I am *so* pleased with the service I received from the two women working on this particular Saturday afternoon. They were wonderfully helpful! They fit me for a new (better) pair of half chaps (Ariat Breeze), then fit me for a new riding helmet (Charles Owen), as the one I was using was 20+ years old. I really felt like I was in good hands and both women knew what they were talking about! I also picked up a nice pair of gloves. The selection in this shop was really great, especially for a small-sized shop. I will definitely go back for my other equestrian apparel needs!

I ordered multiple sizes in a top and a pair of paddocks boots which ended up being too tight. I sent the paddock boots and one top back and NEVER received a refund, $250 + gone.. poof.. I called their 1-800 number and they said no merchandise was received. I didn't save the receipt because, yet again, you have to pay for your own shipping. What online platform does that anymore?? Unfortunate across the board. Never again...
