Atvthe beginning , in 2021 the customer service was great but it rapidly went downhill over the years . Communication is poor , there were disputes over billing and even after the owner agreed that I'm entitled. For a refund it took months to get it and the billing person was extremely rude every time I spoke to her . I think her name is Sharon . Suffice to say that I stopped using the services if this company about a year ago because even their great technician Chris who serviced my unit and he was the only reason i stayed with this company this long , even he couldn't make up for all the issues that I had with this company . There are much better companies around . Go shop for them elsewhere if you want good customer service and good communication.

Now, fast forward to August 2025-worst customer service imaginable! Here's what our experience was on Wednesday, 8/21/25. Our 7-year old AC unit stopped working this evening. At 6:49 pm I called the Albemarle Heating and Air's 24/7 ADVERTISED after hours' service. The operator states, "If you don't receive a call back from the on-duty technician within one hour, then call us back." REALLY???? At 8:00 pm I still have not received a call from on-duty tech. I called the answering service AGAIN. The operator who answered said he had no idea why the on-duty tech had not called. He sent another text message out to have the on-duty technician call me. At this point our house is 80 degrees inside. We are miserable and so is our 7-year old dog. At 10:35 pm I receive a call from the Albemarle Heating and Air "back up" tech. He tells me he is the back up to the official on-call tech. He did at least offer to come help me, BUT HE LIVED ONE HOUR AWAY FROM OUR LOCATION!!! This was when I reached out to the OWNER of another HVAC company--a company we have never used before and we have no service agreement with. The OTHER HVAC COMPANY'S OWNER personally showed up at my doorstep on Thursday morning, 8/21/25, and had my AC running within 5 minutes! That OTHER COMPANY was MONTICELLO AIR. Needless to say, Nick Peregoy, owner of Monticello Air, now has a new customer.

Our home suffered extensive soot damage due to a gas company incident, leading to a six month-long…read morecleaning and restoration process managed by Rainbow Restoration in Charlottesville. The experience was marked by poor communication, lack of oversight, and careless treatment of our belongings. Key problems included delayed and inadequate packing of personal items, damage to property during cleaning and restoration, subpar repairs (such as the minwaxing of countertops and sloppy painting), and unsanitary conditions left by workers (urinating all over and around the toilets). Carpet installation by Sherwin Williams took three repeat visits to correct the initial unprofessional installation. We had to often intervene to document losses and secure appropriate reimbursement from insurance, ultimately recovering significantly more than originally proposed by Rainbow. Despite some helpful individuals (notably the 1800 Pack Out crew and certain staff like Cody), the overall experience with Rainbow Restoration was unsatisfactory. While many of our issues were ultimately corrected under the direction and persistance of Cody, most of them could have been avoided with better communication and oversight. We recommend stronger oversight, professional cleaning services, and better communication with clients in such situations. By the end we felt more like an insurance claim rather than the home owner and customer. Not recommended for whole house clean up and restoration. I would have liked to have written a positive review, but the positives were few and far between.

Shawn communicated to us during the process. I met the rest of the team I wish I had gotten more names. They were all helpful. Tony finished up with setting the furniture and even came back to clean up drywall dust in the bathroom. Making a second trip to clean was over the top. The tenant was able to move back in after a relatively short time. It could have been much worse. Thank you, Rainbow!!!
