Come for the pottery, stay for the breakfast! Loved our quick overnight stay here!! Breakfast is amazing and Barb brought the frosting beaters to us on the front porch -"First ones up get to lick the beaters." There is WiFi, and we were ok with small tv in the room. Only improvement I would note is wish the backyard bench swing was usable. Great place for a quiet weekend get away from the city!

We just got home after a weekend at the Duck Smith Bed & Breakfast in Seagrove, NC and could not wait to give Marcie a raving review. We fell in love with Marcie and her audacious Hospitality! This historical Beauty is a piece of art in itself and being able to learn about it's impact on Seagrove's settlers was amazing but finding the entire Bed and Breakfast adorned with the incredibly gifted local potter's masterpieces was absolutely magical! Cannot wait until we plan another trip down to the North Carolina Zoological Park which is only minutes away.

Homemade pumpkin waffles. YUMYUMYUM.

By far the BEST B&B I've ever stayed at. What makes it the best? 1.) quaint, cosy, cute -not in an old-kind-of-way-that-I-use-quaint-because-it's-not-really-that-great-kind-of-way. I say quaint, cosy & cute in the MOST perfect-fairytale-dream-kind of way. This place is like walking into the pages of a fairytale ending. You'll want to come back again and again because it's absolute MAGIC. 2.) CLEAN. I'm a neat-freak/clean-freak/germaphobe. I give this place 11 out of 10 stars for cleanliness. Seriously. I'm usually afraid to take my shoes off in most hotels/B&B's, never drink out of the glasses, etc -as you never know. But this place -not only did I take my shoes off, I walked around in my BARE feet, drank out of their glasses (crystal to be exact), and felt perfectly comfortable and safe knowing it was CLEAN. Love that! 3.) Service is beyond anything I would ever expect. They asked us what we wanted -we got it. We asked for this or that -delivered. Our room was impeccably cleaned & organized for us each day. I plugged in my phone charger next to my bed -the electrical outlet was behind bed. Next day, they tied a little blue ribbon into the cord and hung it in the bed post, so keep it in plain sight, make it easy for me to find, and also remind me it was there so I wouldn't forget it when I left. SERIOUSLY? Who does that? These gals here do. 4.) Breakfast.is.to.die.for.yummy. OMGOMGOMG. Suzanne & Barbara made breakfast especially for us each day. Things you'd never find at even 5star hotels. I've stayed at many 5 star hotels across the U.S. -those places have nothing over the culinary skills and service provided by these two sisters. Baked grapefruit meringue, stuffed crepes, pumpkin waffles. So rich, so smooth, so yummy, we thought we died and went to heaven. 5.) PEACE. I found myself drawn to watching the birds, appreciating the trees and setting. One evening, I sat out on the front porch to write down some thoughts and was delighted to see fireflies light up the garden -as if in a visual symphony JUST for me. Again, so magical! Fairytale-like! I thought I was in a dream the entire time I was here. The best thing about Duck Smith B&B is that Suzanne and Barbara love what they do. It shows in the attention to detail, love and care with which they do everything. We felt like pampered princesses when we stayed here. (My daughter & I) BEST.B&B.EVER.

Such a comfortable place with two great sister hostesses. Charming rooms and great beds. Clean. Lovely porch to enjoy the peace and quiet of small village life. Love the pottery shopping. So close to it all and good restaurants within a short drive.

Stuffed french toast, yum!!

One of the more successful iterations of the tiny-accommodations communities I've seen. (One note…read moreis their website calls these Charlotte-Raleigh for the area. It does note that each of those cities is about an hour and a half away. I cannot imagine why you would consider staying here if you were doing anything in either of those two cities. These seem to me much more suited to the nearby NC Zoo or one of the natural areas in the region.) I appreciate that everything is on one level (no sleeping in a loft where you crack your head sitting up in bed) and that the bathroom is surprisingly large, particularly the shower. There is a single sink, so kitchen and bathing uses are combined into one facility. I guess one of the casualties of this design is any comfortable seating space to read, etc. There are two wooden chairs at the small desk/table, but the only suitable place to read indoors would be the bed (which has a firm but comfortable mattress). The outdoor space is nice provided the weather cooperates. Other cabins are close enough that you can probably hear incidental noise, but people are far enough away that you should get peace and quiet unless people in a neighboring unit get out of control. There's a peaceful pond with a path around most of it. Having walked the compound, I think it would be worth it to pay the nominal extra amount for one of the "view" cabins that would overlook the pond. The zoo is very close by, and downtown Asheboro is about 10 minutes away.

We got to bottle feed the babies and mingle with them. We also got to tour the Inn and saw a glimpse of the original log cabin. It was a very educational experience and they had goat cheese; gelato and fudge for sale too! The staff was so welcoming and answered a lot of questions. I want to go stay the night at the cozy inn now. Next year, when the new baby goats are born as then I can spend as much time with them as I want :-) I am looking forward to the monthly dinners returning as well.

They have a LOT of beautiful goats, all ages, all colors and personalities, but they also have chickens, llamas and horses. The goats are very friendly and love to have someone pet them. They are born and raised right there on the farm, so they love people. Although the lunch was very good, I loved spending time with the sweet goats. Lunch was lemonchello chicken, a nice salad, rice pilaf and roasted veggies. We had a lemon tart for dessert. The table was set so nicely and we really enjoyed our meal. We had a great tour of the facility and our guide answered all of our questions with her super knowledge and huge amount of patience! A wonderful place to take children...I will bring my grandchildren here for sure. Call ahead before you visit. Thank you Celebrity for a wonderful time!

From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed by some of the friendliest, most accommodating, and genuinely lovely people imaginable. There was never a moment where they didn't go out of their way to help make our stay comfortable and memorable. Ray, especially, was exceptional. He was there every day making sure everything was perfect and continually went above and beyond to make our stay feel special and personal. The Manor itself is absolutely charming -- creative, warm, and filled with character. Everywhere you looked was a feast for the eyes, with thoughtful details and beautiful touches throughout. Now that my niece has graduated, we technically have no reason to visit High Point anymore -- but honestly, a return trip would be worth it just for another stay at the Manor. It felt less like staying somewhere and more like being part of something truly special.

The sound of the pretty fountain out front and of finches and other birds around the grounds is transportive as is the lobby's wallpaper, the loveliest textured bird pattern. Delicious chocolates greeted me upon arrival in my room, and tasty granola bars that appeared to be hand-made were provided to grab on my way out. So many little touches like that made Pandora's exceptional, and I wish that beautiful Manor another hundred years!
