I've had donuts from here many times. They are delicious and warm. I've never gone into the store until today. I'm disgusted. I was greeted by a lady saturated in sweat. She touched her sweaty shirt and face as she took my order (& tried to rush me paying when I had to correct my 2 year old son from running to the back of the store, completely out of my view. We were the ONLY people in the store). She doesn't wash her hands before she makes my coffee, doesn't put gloves on, and she touches her sweaty hair, neck, hat, and shirt while making my coffee. Mediocre donuts - failed concept in selling freshly made donuts. The base donut batter is the same for every donut they sell. It's tasteless, mushy and lacking any exciting flavor. The frostings are poor quality icing with average toppings. As an example - the chocolate tastes like sweet brown stuff - hardly reminiscent of anything real chocolate. All the donuts start with the same base, a light cakey donut. Then you can customize your donut with sauces and toppings, or you can order one of their many suggestions, such as Peanut Butter and Jelly which is a base donut with peanut butter frosting and raspberry drizzle. The donuts are always hot and fresh, made just for each person. And they are messy, but in the best way. Have lots of napkins (and maybe some hand wipes) at the ready. These aren't your mama's donuts. These are hot and fresh, and made to order - right there in front of you! We got a half dozen while we were in Naples visiting and they were sooooo good. My Dad even commented that they were the best donuts he had ever had. My boyfriend commented that they were amazing, but that they tasted more like funnel cake than donuts to him. They are truly served right out of the cooker. They then dip ( glaze, maple, lemon, blueberry) the donut and then add the custom toppings (graham crackers, peanuts, sprinkles) and a final drizzle (hot fudge, peanut butter, vanillla). This is my 2nd time going to Duck Donuts. The minute you step inside the store you are hit with a sweet smell. I went on a Saturday afternoon and luckily enough there were no other customers in the store. I ordered a maple bacon donut. What is unique about Duck Donuts is that all of their donuts are made to order rather than sitting out all day. After you order you can see the entire donut making process. The donut comes out hot and fresh within a few minutes. My recommendation is to eat them as soon as possible. these are not like krispie Kreme as they are cake donuts yet they are light and melt in your mouth and are not greasy unlike some of their competitors. I used to love coming to Duck's Donuts here in Naples. However, quality of service has gone down. Not only is the dining area closed and hours reduced, but we were found our online ordered donuts on the sidewalk. This is unsanitary and shows a lack of consideration for the customer. A better name for this would be Cluster F donuts. The waiting times here are cruel and unusual.i guess their claim to fame is preparing each donut as ordered. Save your time and money. My wife and I were shopping and wanted a coffee break so we tried this place. Still angered by it 24 hours later. The lattes we ordered were nothing more than hot milk. We really couldn't drink them as made. The cup was way too big for a latte with hardly any coffee and way too much milk. When we asked the Barista if he could do something, like add more coffee, the nasty young man responded that we obviously don't know what a latte is and that this was there formula. We had been awaiting the opening for what feels like 2 years lol it was our first time in one and the employees were nice, the store was clean and well maintained, but the best part the donuts they are fresh, warm, and made right in front of you. We ordered off the menu but you can build your own which I think we will try next time. My favorite was the bacon one sooo good! Highly recommend. I think the secret here is the freshly made doughnuts. Everything tastes great when it's fresh from the fryer! They have the same base flavor of doughnut, but then you have the options of frosting, crunchy bits and glazes. The different combinations are probably endless, but they have a menu with premise combinations to simplify things. We also got a breakfast sandwich with the option to put it on a doughnut. I've tried visiting 3 times now over the last 4 months and they have been closed on days and hours they advertise as being open, each day with a new silly sign on the door as to why they are closed. I get it..pandemic times and nobody wants to work, but others have figured out how to continue to operate, with limited hours, but this is just ridiculous and after attempting to patronize 3 times now I will no longer try.
