Don't let the name fool you. You won't be getting any Irish food here, mostly Indian. And no, it's not good. I ordered chicken tikka masala. I got six small chunks of dry chicken, a random salad, and some random grilled vegetables. The service was mediocre at best. I strongly disagree with the harsh reviews. The Dubliner is a solid bar in an otherwise touristy location. For me, the Dubliner was a great stop on a long bar crawl. Dubliner is a small bar located right on Platzl Square, very close to the popular Hofbrauhaus. With tables and chairs set up on Platzl, after entering the bar is on your right, a bar ledge with some stools on the left, and high top tables in the rear. The bar has a light wooden bar top with no rail and no footrest. There are maybe 6-8 square padded barstools that lack back support lined up next to the bar. The back bar is simple with bottle shelves, menus, and shot pourers. There are a few HDTVs throughout the bar that are likely tuned to soccer. I didn't make more than 10 feet into the bar, so other areas are unexplored. The service was super friendly, and after a few, the bartenders offered me a complimentary shot. Very cool. I'd definitely suggest visiting the Dubliner. You're likely visiting the area for Hofbrauhaus, and the Dubliner serves a quick beer and shot with a smile. read more

Not a fan. It's right across the street from Hofbrauhaus... so just got there. Ordered a double Jameson. Here a "double" is 4cl. That's a single everywhere else. $10 for 4cl is a rip. Plus a pint beer is almost as much as a liter across the road. So skip it and do something German when in Germany. read more

Very interesting Ireland pub where to have a fantastic brewed Guiness beer! In order to get off the german beer (absolutely the best!!!) routine you can jump to the Dubliner to taste an Ireland or English beer and have a sandwiches watching at a football match in a very funny and happy environment. Service is good, beer amazing, food is top! I suggest to come here when there's an interesting match to taste the climate of the pub during a sold-out evening! The free wi-fi spot is a very interesting plus here, in particular when you're off of the gigabytes ;) (connection is quite good even when the pub is full of people) read more

When traveling and not sure where to go, you can usually count on an Irish pub being a safe bet. I wasn't travelling, but I happen to be in the area with a friend and we wanted to grab a drink. The Augustiner restaurant was full and there was no way I was going into the Hofbäuhaus, so we decided to try this little Irish pub next to the Starbucks. The small downstairs area was crowded so my friend and I went upstairs where there are more tables awkwardly placed in different alcoves and "rooms". Mainly wanting a drink but also feeling a bit peckish, we perused the menu to find it made up of drinks with just the back section listing their minimal food offerings. I had hoped for some chips (English/Irish kind, not crisps) or nachos or something we could share and snack on. Other than a bowl of crisps/peanuts (not sure how that works) for €3,50, the only other food offered is Pizza for a whopping €9-12. Not wanting a pizza, we decided not to eat and just order drinks. I ordered a Strongbow and my friend ordered a Snakebite (Helles and Strongbow mixed). Our drinks came quickly but at barely colder than room temperature. The Strongbow was surprisingly flat. My friend's Snakebite wasn't much better. The staff, while friendly, was anything but Irish or German and nothing about the place said Ireland other than the name. I cannot say that I was overly impressed by anything and will not likely return in the future. read more

Disclaimer: I didn't try the food, so can't review that. This place has free Wi-Fi. They could've served me the worst beer ever and I would be happy for just that! The password is on their menus, so if you're a tourist with no internet access this place is a convenient place to stop for a pint. At a glance, the food seemed to be simple standard pub food. They also have TVs and play games regularly so good spot to stop and watch a match while surfing Wi-Fi as well. The staff are friendly and helpful - but they're not Irish or German. Most are actually Eastern European. I liked the staff a lot and had a fun time talking to them, but if you're looking for an authentic Irish feel, this is not the place to come. The beer was good Irish beer, however. I was impressed with the quality of their Guinness. TL/DR - Good beer and free Wi-Fi. Decent spot to watch a match. Not really authentic Irish so look elsewhere (Killian's) if that's what you're after. read more

In a city full of bars (many of them very good), the Dubliner is a real gem. Along with the usual Munich beers (plus Guinness, of course), they have an excellent selection of scotches and whiskies and some fun shot specials. The staff is super friendly and cool, and the vibe is about as real and unpretentious as it gets. I'm in Munich for a month at a time, and I come here regularly. A stellar place. read more

This is very small 'pub" just across from the Hofbräuhaus. Aside from the name, there was not much that was pubby there. It was more like a small bar. The beer was ok, but the selection was limited. The service was slow and disinterested. We will not be back. read more

This place sucks, the guy at the door refused to let me in because I am Indian. He claimed it was because he thought I was drunk, but he let people a lot more intoxicated that I was (at least I my opinion) on without issue so it begs the question whether he stopped ne. From. Entering just because I am Indian. I was there on a Friday night around midnight (tight about when I would be craving a drunken taco bell), but I the guy at the door was not able to give me an answer as to why he would not let me in. I even offered to recite the alphabet bachwards, but that was not enough for the racist bouncer. He finally let me in under the threat of a bad review. But any place worth anything would know that reviews aren't worth their morals and should not be changed just by a threat of a bad review. The fact that they sacrificed these morals just because I suggested that I would give them a negative review, to me reads as they are a worse place than I had begun to expect. read more

This place is right across the famous 'Hofbräuhaus'. It has outside sitting, typical for this area, so one can admire the surroundings. They have few good Irish beers which are not easily found in other places. Staff is friendly too. read more

Great place to drink all day. Can't say enough about the staff, they were awesome. Great music, great atmosphere. Only had the pizza, but it was very good. This was our home when we were there, and it was perfect for a bunch of guys from Boston. read more
