After meeting Master J. Kim, we decided that we wanted to switch. After the first week of adapting to the difference in schools, we can clearly say that we like J. Tigers a lot! Not only are we leaving school feeling more energized, but we have been taught a deeper understanding of the kicks, and forms that have never been explained to us the past 2 years. Master Kim really does care about his students and it shows every day. Very humble, honest, and a great teacher!

I have only been practicing a short time. There are some things that I am very educated on such as customer service, good people, and passionate individuals. This place checks all of those boxes. I was in the area for work and prior to my visit, I emailed the website asking about "drop ins". In probably an hour I received a very welcoming reply with the class schedule and asking about my abilities so I wouldn't be in over my head. BJ greeted me, showed me around, and got me set up for the Basics course that was taught by Tyler. Tyler did a great job describing the technical aspects of what he was teaching and got around to everyone making corrections. I learned a bunch. The facility is unreal. Very large, spotless, and well laid out. I hope that someday I can return. Pretty sure I forgot my mouthguard, but that's a small price to pay for a great experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend Shifu Gao for his exceptional expertise in both traditional and…read morecontemporary Chinese martial arts. With numerous world Wushu championships in weapons and forms to his name, his skills are truly world-class. You can witness his amazing abilities firsthand on his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@mastersengao. Shifu Gao is extremely knowledgeable about Chinese martial arts. I made the deliberate choice to train with him over other martial arts instructors or schools due to the extreme depth and breadth of his knowledge and skills. I've been a student of Wushu at his academy since its inception in 2014, starting at the age of 70. Aside from the Taichi students, most of the students are kids. I get a good workout each time in class. Wushu training helps me sustain, and even improve, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, cardio-vascular function, metabolic health, body weight, can-do attitude, determination, and cheerfulness. Also, fighting ability. It helps me to stay young. Training alongside young students is an enjoyable and invigorating experience, which also helps me to stay young. Shifu Gao is good teacher. Many of his students have won medals in domestic and international competitions. He projects an atmosphere of discipline that strikes a balance between traditional Chinese (too harsh) and contemporary American (too reluctant to criticize). Shifu Gao is generous with praise, ensuring that students receive a fair share of positive reinforcement alongside constructive criticism. Ohio is very fortunate to have a martial arts teacher of Shifu Gao's caliber. I enthusiastically recommend Ohio Wushu Academy for students of any age from 5 to 105.

Yes, I am an adult participant, and attended for a short time while in school in the area. I was looking for a great workout and the benefit of self defense skills was a plus. Also, being new to the area, I enjoyed the Village TKD family events. It is a family business with over 30 years of combined experience. They LOVE what they do and always keep it interesting with new workouts, relays and practice skills. Their fees are reasonable compared to other schools. A happy upbeat & inspirational environment lives here. It is a blend that matches one's caffeine intake and reminds one to get your fitness goals done. The happy counter staff such as the very welcoming, Kenneth, to the kind cafe peeps and even salon staff that absolutely do not take themselves too seriously but are naturally happy and helpful. This was my second time and I wanted to do more than I did the previous time here. I had the privilege of taking a dance class with the soulful and intuitive instructor named Jenny. It was a high energy dance coreo set where she made sure all were included and shined with gusto during the end of class performance. She created a special 'ring of accountability' before and after the class was taught. A true safe space to your bold authentic yourself. This kind of teaching extends beyond one's 'self-care' and exists on a frequency of 'community-care' and supports the 'group mind' of a creative set of artists or people wanting to draw more outside the box. The steam room and sauna were clean and detoxes one perfectly and so does the amazing hot tub and plunge pool duo and while taken all in rotation it was downright Japanese in their easy flowing easy to access layout. For every uptempo aminity there are downtempo ones too. A special shoutout to soulful Elizabeth Brown who taught a mid-day Root Yoga course filled with the best energy and well paced kindness. This is my kind of class, it's solid and restorative in its pacing and keeps the yogi listening without the pressures of comparison. Elizabeth meets you where you are no matter the level of practice and look forward to booking her class again when I am in town next. Thank you Lifetime Fitness, I am a fan of what you do and all the work that goes into making this massive 'cruise ship' of a gymnasium sail flawlessly! Nameste! Keep up the good work! Ahoy!
