    Fried oyster po'boy
    Matt P.

Visiting Salem with my mother, we were on the hunt for fresh seafood. Dube's is the definition of hole-in-the-wall: if you didn't know where it was, you would drive right past, as it looks like just a regular house in a residential neighborhood. Inside there is a full bar and plenty of booths. For a weekday around noon it was pretty busy. Our waitress was friendly and helped point out things on the menu. We got a large order onion rings which turned out to be a MASSIVE portion for only $11. We also ordered the fried oyster po'boy and a side order of fried haddock. The po'boy was packed with more shredded lettuce and tomatoes than I have ever seen on a sandwich before. The roll was absolutely overflowing with perfectly crispy fried oysters. The fried haddock was so flaky and tender, and their homemade tartar sauce was outstanding. For the price we got a massive amount of seafood, definitely enough to take home. Dube's is the real deal seafood and I know I will be back again soon.

A side order of fried clams and fried scallops. So yummy!

Can there be six stars? Please! Super simple place, unassuming. Tanya was friendly and welcoming. Fried clams with bellies. Cooked perfectly. Just a touch of "the sea" in the flavor. Perfect. Nice size portion, but wait... Fried scallops. Ditto above. So happy. Can't get this in Rochester. So happy to find the little gem!

Cheese burger club with French fries

We had to make last minute changes to our dinner plans and came here as the next option. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it was decently full on the inside. There is a cute canopy in the back for outdoor seating as well. For entrees, we had their baked haddock which can come with French fries, baked potato, or mashed potatoes and ratatouille or steamed vegetables. They had turkey clubs, and hamburgers so my friend requested for a cheeseburger club which they happily obliged. I opted for their seafood stew which came with salad and rice after much conflict between that or their stuffed shrimp. Everyone loved their choices as everything was well seasoned. I liked how the rice had pieces of carrots and must have been cooked with chicken broth. Baked haddock must have been made with a stick of butter as well as their mashed potatoes which I found almost gummy in texture, not my preferred. French fries were decent but the ratatouille vegetables were fantastic. French onion soup came out with the freshly torched cheese on top and was good enough to finish every drop. Overall, great experience. Our waitress was nice and personable checking in on us regular. I would definitely come back again and see why it's been a classic for so long.

Went here a couple weeks ago. It's a small place, but food service and drinks were all wonderful. We had about a 10 minute wait for a table. We were seated and a waitress came over a few minutes later to get our brink order. Started with the vanilla bean martini. It was delicious dessert in a glass. My husband got the clam chowder it was a bit on the thin side, but he enjoyed it every spoonful had tons of clams. I got the seafood bisque loaded with perfect cooked seafood. We shared the 3 way platter, perfect for 2 people. Golden fried not greasy. Coleslaw wasn't good way too vinegary. I wish I read the menu a little closer because the platter just came with fries I would have order a side of onion rings, because the table next to us got them and the looked delicious. Second cocktail was the Rock Candy Cocktail very good. It's a now frills place, but would definitely go back.

Looking for the quintessential, family-owned and operated, New England restaurant/bar with heaping plates of perfectly prepared seafood - especially whole belly clams? This. Is. It! I cannot sing this place's praises enough: food quality, portion size, variety, value, unpretentious atmosphere, AND THE MOST AMAZING AND FRIENDLY WAITSTAFF. My only regret about my stop today is that I didn't get the name of the waitress. She was phenomenal - super knowledgeable, accommodating, genuinely friendly, and a Salem/Beverly ambassador that made our (me and my friends from Spain) visit especially memorable. Server #1 (according to my receipt) is a class act, a true gem, and a credit to Dube's brand. Never will we forget her kindness, banter, and hospitality. Or the food! Simply put, this was a great experience from start to finish. Do I HIGHLY recommend this place? In-DUBE-itably [Sorry. That was weak]

I've been going here since I was a little girl and they have by far the best fried clams and seafood around. The onion rings are also to die for as is their French onion soup. Honestly, it's one of the best French onions I've had in my life. The drinks are strong and tasty. It's the perfect place to stop with family or friends for a low key delicious dinner. I will say that the takeout is good but nothing compares to getting fresh there.

This restaurant is well known by the locals. There are no substitutions. It is a lot of food for the price. Staff works very hard. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Extreme aseptic techniques, I felt very safe.

Best fried clam plate on the Northshore . Good value for your money and enough variety on the menu if it's not clams you are hankering for.

Everything there is fresh - boat to table! Cooking and prepping on all on site! We were told the lobsters were cooked at 3am this morning! That's fresh. We had our lobster rolls with butter but they also offer with mayo. The buns were nicely toasted setved with homade chips! The lobster meat, just stop there, tail, claws, all parts, and so much of it! Well worth every dollar we paid! There were lobsters in the tank and when one of the staff members pulled out one for photos ops! It was so fun! Very nice and friendly staff. It shows they are family (two families) owned and runned! Our meals came out faster than expected and we're brought out to our chairs. They have a good selection of wines and beers! Great place for lunch or picking up items for dinner at home! If you are any where near Marblehead, make sure yo stop of for lobster rolls at The Little Harbor Lobster Company.

A bowl of clam chowder was based on a flavorful (without being fishy) creamy broth. Much better than the kind that can be like a bowl of wallpaper paste. The clam was minced so finely that it was hard to discern that there was any in the bowl. Very filling and tasty just the same. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We asked how much the market price for a lobster roll would be: $40. Music was in the style of hipster cocktail hour, so very enjoyable. Art work was kitschy lobster and bar- based. They have a "rule" that you should walk outside the building to get to the restrooms, and the dude is policing this rule since he has nothing to do. Need an extra bowl to split the soup? No worries, the dude will lecture your elderly parents his unsolicited opinions on how the soup will spill everywhere, so you shouldn't do it. Funny enough, the same dude spilled the soup all over the place when he was bringing them to us. Aside from the rude dude, prices are insane. We are not even in peak season, so they are serving the locals but their prices have a 50% or so markup from industry average. ($40 for a small and $60 for a large lobster roll). They have an automatic 20% gratuity on parties of 3 or more, so they get rewarded on their bad service no matter what. I highly recommend avoiding this dump.
