The deli section is also amazing, with a great variety of options like pasta, steak, tofu, fried or baked chicken, olives, and lots of delicious cheese and salami. Five stars!

I'm shocked by the rating of this market, but then again, most of the scores are older. My goal was…read moreto check out most of the county's markets this summer, but I got a late start and some locations I ruled out completely based on the time and day or the market. Some neighborhoods are just problematic to navigate. I don't know if this was a bad week to attend or we arrived to early, but we had a couple issues that made the visit unpleasant. My first issue was selection. At every other market we visited, there were plenty of fruit, vegetable and juice stands, as well as fresh breads and other artisanal crafts. Here, half of those options were not available and the ones that were, were in limited supply. Now, most markets limit themselves to about 4 hours with the exception of the weekend markets, but this was an all day market. We arrived about 30 minutes after open short of the food vendors that were still setting up or cooking, I didn't see anyone else setting up or spaces reserved for them. My final knock. Every other market we've visited or looked into had fully functional websites that listed participating vendors and links to their websites if they have one. This market has a link via the city website that list only the time and date of the market with information on how to register to sell. It took some effort to get here and ultimately ended up being a waste of time, energy and effort. Completely disappointed.

I love exploring international and ethnic grocery shops in the greater Puget Sound region. Hong Kong Market is well stocked, clean, organized, and well represented beyond Asian regions. Latino shoppers will find faves here too. I was amazed at the fresh and frozen meat and seafood offerings....unusual cuts, whole (fish, poultry, goat, sheep), offal, exotica. Kitchen gear. Fresh produce. Canned, packaged, frozen food. Variety of rice in varying sizes. Snacks. Alcohol and other beverages. Hot deli. Baked goods. Kind of if one compressed Uwajimaya, Asian Family Market, and Saar's. A plus that Filipino products and ingredients were well featured. The fish here tastes and smells like the high quality, flavorful, well-made stuff it is. The fish looks beautiful too. They let us try the regular smoked salmon, the garlic, and the candied. All superb. Be warned the candied stuff - heck, all of them are addicting. The cost may seem high, but it is completely justified. You aren't getting bottom of the barrel keta (translated from native tongue to "dog") fish or "pink" salmon (only 1 tier up), you're getting fresh fish. There was no hint of gross "fishy" smell before or after eating. (To make your salmon last longer, may I suggest enjoying your salmon with rice and veggies, or in a sandwich?) They also sell high quality pork, beef, chicken, and other things in the freezer like sausage, duck, cheese. They also have pretty nicely priced wines for sale, from low $10s and up. Whites, reds, and bubblies. Highly recommend you make the side-tour to this joint for salmon. A fish dressed to impress that will win you praises.
