Within a year, the structural integrity of the work failed: the seam where the ring was cut is now visibly open and physically sharp to the touch. This is a clear case of improper fusing or the use of inferior solder--platinum should be seamlessly welded, not left with a failing joint. When I reached out to resolve this, they admitted the repair would cost over $500 and offered a measly 15% discount. It is predatory to charge $60 to remove a piece of my platinum, then demand over $500 to fix a seam that shouldn't have failed in the first place. I expected this company to stand behind their benchwork, but instead, they are trying to profit off their own technical error. I no longer trust them with my jewelry and suggest others look elsewhere for quality platinum work.

We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch.
