I bought a pair of loafers from DSW but didn't wear them until a few weeks later - and unfortunately, they were too big and kept slipping off, which made walking tricky. I decided to try exchanging them for a smaller size and spoke with associate Karen about my situation. She was incredibly helpful and approved a one-time exchange without any hassle. This is my local DSW where you will never get one of the "free gifts" that come with your purchase. No matter how early you go So I thought I'd have better luck if I ordered online.My boots were delivered today lo and behold there's no free gift which was supposed to be a weekender bag (however when I placed the order I received a tracking number) Oh and wait back to my boots that I wanted to wear for a special occasion tomorrow...they got here except there's a size 6 in the box along with a size 8!! It's almost Comical & definitely unacceptable . Service or the lack there of on mother's day 5/12/19 I placed an order for rain boots and decided to have them sent to this location for pick up. I arrived and waited on line. There were to cashiers tending to customers so I waited. One cashier post completing the transaction I noticed she disappeared. Another person arrived and I was under the impression she was the manager on duty. She was attempting to get the attention of another associate on the headset but to no avail was she successful. Now online it is myself and 2 other customers. Time on line: 10 mins. The "manager" goes to the associate says something then returns to the back of the store to do what I don't know but it wasn't help get us waiting on line out of the store. The cashier is still on this one customer 15 mins since I've entered the store. I'm not sure how long it has been going on but I know I've been on line for 15 whole mins. I hear the cashier request backup. Another 10 mins pass and no one comes to assist her. I've worked in retail and this is definitely unacceptable. At no point should an associate be requesting backup and no one assist. The store is an deplorable condition. I should've taken a picture... there is a shoe mountain behind the cash wrap the height of a small child. If these shoes are not being sold they should be boxed and returned to be sent to an outlet store or whatever the DSW policy is. The back display is covered with boxes.... I finally was called next 33 mins later on a Sunday and my transaction took 4 mins. The extra mins because I decided to purchase a pair of shoelaces. Never again will I have my shoes shipped here nor will I come here to buy anything.... Corporate needs to look into this read more

This store is STRUGGLING much like the other stores in this mall. With a vast, yet poor selection (compared to all of the other locations in the 5 boros and long island) it's a wonder they are still in operation. The employees help you if asked, but are far more comfortable gossiping among themselves. I have come here at least once a season for a few years in hopes of improvement....to no avail. I received a DSW gift card a few months back and finally made it to a store to see what I could get. I was in search of simple black comfortable shoes that I could wear to work and figured a nice pair should be easy enough to find. I arrived around 11 on a Tuesday morning. The first thing I took note of was how neat the store is. When I think of warehouse I think of disarray with a slew of shoes and items thrown everywhere. To my pleasant surprise it was spotless and I didn't see not a single shoe or purse out of place. That was a plus. It was so neat that I felt obligated to put back everything I tried on just to maintain the order. Even the clearance section was orderly. They have a wide selection of shoes. Shouldn't be too hard for you to find something you are looking for. I quickly found a few pair of shoes I wanted to decided between. The workers were pleasant and asked if I needed any help. The prices aren't some super duper bargain but they aren't over the top either. They have some decent brands at decent prices. Overall my experience here was a pleasant one. I hate shopping and here I was able to do what I needed to do without being annoyed. I purchased a pair of shoes and an adorable hat and I was pleased with the whole thing. I can't say I'm running back because simply I'm not big on shopping BUT given another gift card I'd definitely be back and when in search of shoes I would try here again for sure. read more

Great prices for a limited but in some cases very appealing selection of shoes. I've found some great brands and products in here, but I obviously either have a size that sells out quickly or was made in limited quantities. Two things which I didn't like: - In some cases the "great deals" really weren't, as I found the shoes for far less at Amazon. I like this DSW. It was huge and organized. First floor is all sandals, dress shoes, work shoes etc... Second floor is men's, clearance and flats and sneakers. There is an escalator or you can take the elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. The checkout line was long and took a while to move but they were understaffed so it's understandable. What I hated : Every time I found a shoe a liked, I couldn't find my size at all. I like this location a lot though. read more

Ok I took two stars away because of this: This dsw never have the once a year luxury sale that the other DAW stores have. The one in Garden city you can get a nice pair of gucci or jimmy Choo shoes :) This DSW employees aren't as nice as most DSW stores I've been too. I'm coming in to buy lots of shoes you should greet me at the door and when I leave lugging my bags. The lights In this store is always dim. Hello!! Manager Emma is a terrible person at first I thought she was racist but i've seen other reviews saying she was rude so who knows! Throws a shoe box at my grandmother who asked for help and tried to lie to me about it and claim that my grandmother was "mumbling" even though I know she wasn't. How hasn't she been fired at this point? She also wouldn't give my grandmother her name until I called the store and for it myself. Get her out of there DSW if you actually value "passion, accountability, humility, and collaborations". Get better managers. read more

Oh how I love this store! Besides the fact that I'm a huge shoe lover and admirer of the brand, the Lawrence store is one of the best around! The store has been transformed after the mishap with Hurricane Sandy so it's much more appealing to look around. There's a huge variety of styles and sizes to choose from however, it's nothing like the Roosevelt Field store. The staff is what really makes this store what it is. The managers and associates are so friendly and helpful, it makes my shopping experience that much better! read more

This DSW is so organized and clean! The staff does not pressure you and constantly ask you if you need help, which I really appreciate! There are a lot of great picks at this location, as well. The clearance section was full of great deals. There is tons of parking, you never have to worry about not finding a spot. DSW also puts your shoes on hold until the next day if you are unsure if you want to commit to them at that moment! read more

This store is never busy. I have been in here numerous times and always feel like I am the only customer shopping. The nice thing about this is that the employees are always eager to help. The store has a very large selection of shoes as well as items on clearance and I can always find something I don't really need, but the deal is too good to pass up. Needless to say I think I can do damage to my wallet every time I set foot inside. read more

I stood on line and listen to the cashier tell a Shoe Lover that they could not return an item without the box and/or receipt. Having both I didn't think I would have a problem. But of course that was not the case. Receipt, box but it must be within 60 days something that is NOT posted on the receipt. The cashier pulled out the return policy posted in a picture frame. I'm now insulted because all I want was my money back and their telling me to call customer service to learn the return policy. I guess my gripe is NOT with the store per se (even though I think more training could be a good thing), I think the store policy should be printed not the receipt (they do at Marshalls!) as well. Considering there are so many other places to buy shoes, it's not like I have to go back oh wait, I do because I received a store credit and not a refund! read more
