Fixed everything nicely, but left a mess in my house- even left tools and pipes laying around inside and outside. Slightly disappointed.

I reached out to Randal for a replacement quote with a picture, and at 10pm at night, he promptly provided me a detailed description of the piping, and explained that he had in fact been the one to conduct the work on this piping years in the past (I assume he remembered the job simply from the picture??). The supply line is not a concern, and the fitting in question was actually a runoff drain line that was not under pressure. Randal, then explained that as the new owner, the 10 year parts and labor warranty transfers to me. Thanks for the honest and detailed response at no charge!

But a great plumber is only good if you can get a response from them. I've been dealing with him for several years now. Consistently I've had to message repeatedly, call repeatedly. On occasion - as the first time I contacted him probably in 2023 - he answers the phone himself, and provides info on what he thinks the problem is. And he does phenomenal work. After a few years of being a good customer, patient, paying on time, never objecting to pricing, I **STILL** cannot get a response from him. One issue is that he's a one man show. It's him, or no one. His wife is lovely and accompanies him at times. Very knowledgeable herself. About 4 weeks ago I initiated contact and he responded immediately via text. Great, I thought. Then nothing. After a few more messages checking in, he said there was a family medical situation. I gave him space, and here we are two weeks and yet another text message to him later, and nothing. Nada. And still a leaking well tank. C'mon. Do better. We are done, hope you sort yourself out with other customers - I've seen several other people have had the same experience.

I called Blue Mountain to schedule an appointment. The person on the phone clearly explained what to expect. I was told we would be charged a $99 fee to send out a plumber who would tell us what needed to be done and the prices but if I had him do the work, I would not be charged the fee. She asked if everyone was feeling ok in the house and what COVID precautions I would like observed while working in my house. I scheduled an appointment and was told the plumber would call me when he was on the way to my house. On the day of my appointment someone from Blue Mountain called, to say they had a cancellation and asked if I would like to move my appointment up and if so they would send a plumber now. We accepted the earlier appointment and the plumber arrived as scheduled. The plumber asked if we wanted him to wear a mask and stayed distant from us in the house. We were given a price of $1,219.80 to change out the water heater and $81.16 to replace some pipes associated with the water heater. The cost was more than we were expecting but we said we would accept if he could replace the water heater today. The plumber called his office and was able to get the work scheduled for later that day. A couple hours later two young plumbers arrived to replace the water heater. They were very friendly and got right to work. The replacement took about three hours. When finished they cleaned up after themselves and hauled away our old water heater. When the replacement was complete, we paid with a check and were give a written receipt and warranty. The next day we received a call from Blue Mountain asking the office asking if we were satisfied with the work completed. It has been a few days now since the installation was completed without any problems. We are satisfied and would use them again and recommend to others.

I contacted Miller Plumbing Solutions through Angi to get a quote for installing an outdoor spigot on my new home. Before reaching out, I had researched typical costs and found most estimates in the $500-$800 range. When Miller Plumbing came out, they told me the job would be straightforward due to easy basement access and the location of the existing plumbing. They even mentioned they could drill through wood instead of concrete to help keep costs down. Despite describing it as an easy job, their quote came in at nearly $1,500. After I explained that was well beyond my budget, they removed some items and lowered the estimate to around $900, but said they couldn't go any lower. I was also told that while a handyman might be cheaper, I wouldn't find a licensed and insured plumber who could do the work for less. I declined the estimate and later mentioned it to a neighbor, who recommended Cory Claytor of Claytor Plumbing. Cory came by, looked at the project, and immediately told me the previous quote was outrageous. He completed the installation in just over an hour, drilled through the concrete rather than the wood to avoid damaging my siding, and charged just under $500. He is fully licensed and insured. Cory and his daughter, who assisted with the job, were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and fair. The quality of the work was excellent, and the price was exactly what I would expect for a straightforward installation. Based on my experience, I felt that Miller Plumbing Solutions was attempting to charge far more than was reasonable for this project. On the other hand, Claytor Plumbing delivered outstanding service, quality workmanship, and honest pricing. If you're looking for a plumber who treats customers fairly, I highly recommend Cory Claytor and Claytor Plumbing.
