Too expensive for summer dress cleaning, 2 dress $50, and my dress not even hundred box also not that dirty.

I've been sending quite a few things and I really like the lady sorry I don't know her name offhand! The husband is not friendly!! For the most part things have been OK in the beginning, but as I've been bringing things they have been getting sloppy. I just dropped off a large amount of table cloths ski pants and jackets. Fifteen years living in the area, this place by far has the BEST dry cleaning and alteration services. Their prices being in the Peninsula is competitive. Their work is spot on and addresses every concern by customers should there be one. Turn around time is extremely reasonable given the work to be done in some cases. Intricate alterations and detailing are done to perfection and I'm always satisfied. Absolute trust in their dry cleaning as well since I've had horror stories from other Dry Cleaners in the area! Do NOT take your clothes here! My boyfriend brought a white collared shirt here and it came back pink! He brought it back and asked for a refund or store credit. The manager then actually started to yell at us and blame us for not knowing the shirt was pink. She said the shirt was pink to begin with and she would have to call Tommy Hilfiger to find out the real color. We left there extremely irritated. Two days later we got a call from the manager saying she spoke with Tommy himself (yea right...) and the shirt was pink. At this point, my boyfriend was extremely angry. It was so obvious this lady was lying and she just didn't want to give us our money back. This is the WORST customer service we have ever experienced. read more

We took our silk comforter set in perfect condition (2 years new) to Dry Clean City and when we picked it up it was COMPLETELY RUINED! The silky sheen was gone! The woman said this was her sisters business and I had to wait until she came back to settle with her. The next time we went in she was the new owner of the business and claimed that she had no responsibility for ruining our comfortable. In the end she offered us a $25.00 credit for services for our $400.00 duvet cover. Sounds fair right!?!?! No, of course not but what can you do when there is no other recourse? I should have looked on Yelp first! Too many good reviews from people outside of Belmont... The bad reviews are substantiated with poor management and friendly yet incompetent staff. Took 0ver $200.00 worth of various articles and because it was a big drop, I believed I received a fair price of $180.00. Bottom line, they ruined my most expensive items to silk drapes! One set shrunk by 3" and a panel on another set was 4" shorter. I specifically discussed the "dry cleaning only" label stating DO NOT STEAM PRESS! But they did..... Surely no one took the time to tag or inform the help properly.... Their receipt in small print said not responsible for various matters including shrinkage. BEWARE AND DO NOT GO HERE..... read more

I've only taken one item here so far, since I haven't lived in the area very long yet. But I was impressed by two things: The nice older Asian lady running the cash register. After she took my information to open my account in the computer she said completely sincerely "Oh, nice to meet you!" I was so taken aback that I forgot to ask her name, hahah. I was also impressed with the service - it was done well and very fast, earlier than the time guaranteed on the claim ticket. I don't know much about dry cleaning pricing, not really using dry cleaning services often, so I can't comment on if it's cheap or not. But I was definitely impressed by the service. read more

No need to try-out any other dry cleaners or alterations, Dry Clean City will not let you down! This IS your place! Mrs. Yung is truly the sweetest lady ever and she's absolutely masterful in her alteration skills! I've lived in Belmont for several years but always relied on the dry cleaners in our company's building until the week before Christmas. I brought in a couple of sweaters and a blazer for dry cleaning, and one of my favorite coats to be completely relined. I love coats - especially when they're well-made, have great lines, and are classic in style! With that said, entrusting one of my coats to anyone is a big task and since I'm pretty nifty with a needle and thread, I prefer to sew things myself. But this particular fix was beyond me. If you know anything about a lining, once there is a tear, several more will soon follow. You can attempt to mend each tear but eventually the fabric will give-out and several more tears will present themselves until you find yourself sticking your arm into one of the larger holes instead of the arm of the coat. No fun. I finally gave-in and decided to have a professional reline my coat. Dry Clean City is prompt and tends to get things back to you before the promised date. My sweaters and blazer were ready for the Christmas trip to So Cal and I picked-up my coat tonight! I couldn't be anymore pleased with the results! The lining is amazing and it looks brand new! No really, I positively cherish this coat and the sentimental value it holds is besides the point. This coat is well-formed! Oh and BTW, I brought my sister in with her own dry cleaning and alteration needs and they gave her awesome prices as well! Mrs. Yung was all too kind and gave the both of us a generous compliment. Ive been coming here now for over 5 years... and it will be one of things I miss most about Belmont Yung.. the owner... is the sweetest lady you will ever meet... always smiling... and always remembers all the details about you and others... They dryclean, do alterations, shoe repair... all for reasonable pricing... but most importantly... the turnaround time is quick... usually a day or two... SAME DAY service available... and ALWAYS high quality work... as all the services are done directly here at the shop... They have done a great job cleaning the clothes I left with them. Although I know there has been issues from others on Yelp... They do seem to have an administrative problem. They have lost some of my father's shirts and almost lost one of mine (when I brought my claim ticket she could not find it, then asked me if I had already picked it up. Luckily, after 10 mins she finally found it.) And most recently I got a shirt back that did not seem to be fully cleaned. It still had a stain on it. Furthermore, a button was chipped. Not 100% sure if it happened by them... I only noticed it when I got home. read more

What is not to like about Dry Clean City ? They are great, and can even do some repairs of clothing. Always fast, friendly service. Clothes are always well cleaned and pressed, many times ahead of schedule. I like how they've gone to an all CO2 based system. read more

This is a great place to take your clothes if you don't mind them being completely destroyed and don't mind being called names by the owners when you complain. I brought in a two-tone (maroon with beige panels on the front) Nat Nast silk shirt with an oil stain. $65 from Nordstrom Rack. It had been worn one time. When I got it back, the oil stain was gone, but the beige parts of the shirt were completely covered with red splotches. Totally ruined. Check my profile photos if you want to see it for yourself. They knew it was ruined, too, because the woman made a point of hanging the shirt on the rack near the register with the front side facing away from me. Like she was hoping I'd leave without noticing the damage. And the guy (her husband?) came *running* in from the parking lot when she hung up the shirt, like he knew there was going to be trouble. When I complained, the woman asked if I had the Nordstrom Rack receipt with me. Ummm, no. I don't carry store receipts with me. Then the guy said the shirt was like that when I brought it in. As a bonus, he even called me a liar for claiming that they're the ones who fucked up the shirt. FWIW, another dry clean shop who I showed the shirt to said that shirts of similar colors are usually cleaned together in groups and it looked to him like the red from another shirt bled onto the beige of my shirt. So if you have clothes you don't care about, then by all means bring them to Dry Clean City. Or, save yourself $6.50 and just throw them away because that's what you'll end up doing anyway. read more

Avoid. Terrible service and incompetent. Brought in a polo to be cleaned and they completely ruined and destroyed it. Refused to reimburse me for for the damaged shirt only offering to take $8 off my dry cleaning bill and the owner told me stupidly "well you can take it back to the store where you bought it". Unbelievable. Next time I'll go to the Crystal Cleaning Center where professionalism and reputation go hand in hand. read more

After reading the other reviews on Dry Clean City, I decided to give a try after red wine was spilled on my favorite silk tie. I honesty thought it was ruined, but to my amazement, they got the stain out completely. The shirts and sweater I also brought in were cleaned and presented beautifully. These guys are Frauds! They recently started a 20% Off campaign, if you drop your cloths off before 9 am. (I dropped mine off before 8am.) When I picked-up my cloths they didn't give me the discount. When I asked about it. they said, "Oh no, dry cleaning only, no shirts and no comforters." I asked why that wasn't disclosed on the flyer they have posted or disclosed when I dropped off my clothes and she said, "We'll then we don't make any money." Horrible answer and dishonest advertising. I will be posting a complaint with the Belmont Business office. read more

I'm stunned that this place is still getting customers. Got a pair of jeans for $375 and it was too long. Took it to the nearest alteration's place and asked them to make it shorter. The lady told me it would be ready the next day. Went back to pick it up and my jeans was completelt ruined. She simply cut it and ran it through the sewing machine. I asked her why it looked so bad and only then she told me that i had to mention i wanted the original hem?? Are you serious? Like i had to sniff my fingers and know that? I told her she had to give me the options if that was the case to which she said it was more expensive. Lady! I can buy and sell you 4 times, how on earth do you know if i could afford it or not? To make the story short, i asked her to give me the cut out parts back and she started looking, for 15 minutes and then dropped everything and started helping customers. What pissed me off the most was her not even apologizing! She kept screaming that it was my fault! Never going back there again! A simple apology would've made me feel bad for them but the way she handled it pushed me to the edge. I own a business myself and if any of employees talks to customer in such a manner, i wouldn't even blink twice before letting them go. I always support small businesses but this business not only doesn't know how to get you what you are paying for but also attacks you after they are 100% at fault. read more

Please note that this is a review of Dry Clean City under its new management (as of Fall 2010). I've been taking my clothes here for nearly two years and spend an average of $750 on dry cleaning a year. Not an insignificant expense. Dry Clean City is on the pricey side, but until recently - I kept going here because it is located close to home. I consider myself a good customer (always very polite and wearing a smile on my face, normally no complaints, etc). Last week, for the first time ever, I brought back an item of clothing to be redone. I brought back white pants which had a food spot on them. I had pointed out this spot when dropping off the pants but they had not been properly cleaned. I figured it was no biggie and kindly explained this to the owner. Her response was I had worn the pants and she pointed to a few wrinkles they had in the upper thigh area. I was so shocked by the accusation that my face got really red and I started to fumble my words. I had JUST picked up the pants two days prior, had not worn them, and was really disappointed with her reply. When I told her I had not worn the pants she AGAIN accused me of doing so. Even though I was really upset, I maintained my composure and again told the owner I had not worn them. She abruptly grabbed them from the counter and told me they would be redone even though I had worn them. Not cool. As I mentioned earlier, I'm always really nice and I have never brought anything in to be redone. Maybe she was having a bad day, but still... If you do still to decide to go here, check your dry cleaning ASAP after picking it up and if you need to bring anything back - do so within the next couple of hours so you won't be accused of having worn it. lol Lastly - I went in yesterday to pick up the redone white pants and when I checked them at Dry Clean City, the SAME wrinkles where there as before. Tisk Tisk... Not cool for accusing a loyal customer of something they never did. read more

The older couple who are running this cleaner are retiring as of next week. They were always friendly and very helpful. My brother uses this cleaners too and she would always ask me "How is your brother?" She did excellent work and I used to get my cleaning back quicker than any cleaners that I have ever used. One day, my pick up was so large that the husband (I'm embarrassed to say, I don't know his name) brought my clothes to the car for me. I'm disappointed with this place. After reading such good reviews, I took a sweater here for dry cleaning and a dress for alteration around the bustline and under the arms. The dry cleaning went without incident, but the dress alterations were not what I wanted. I think the main problem was communication - I couldn't understand what the tailor was saying, and she clearly couldn't understand what I wanted. What I got was a dress that is closer to the right size, but still doesn't fit quite right. The strangest part is that the two sides aren't even - one side has a lot more extra fabric than the other, it's as if she only took in 1 side. The lady was very nice, but I am still going to have to take it somewhere else to be tailored a second time, meaning more time and money for me. read more

WON'T BE RETURNING EVER AGAIN! I've only had a total of 3 experiences with Dry Clean City but today was the last one. For a while I was shopping around to see who had the best prices and service. I chose them because they seemed fair, the employees were friendly and they were close to home. The owner quoted me $5.00 for my uniform shirt minus 20% for early bird. 4 days later I brought in the uniform shirt, spoke to the owner again, she confirmed the $5.00 quote, no problem. I picked up my shirt 2 days later without any issues, good stuff. 1 week later I brought in the same shirt, dropped it off etc, etc. Came back to pick it up, paid $7.95 without realizing it and left. When I returned again 1 week later, I spoke to one of the owner's employees who took my order, explained the issue, she understood and agreed to give me the originally quoted price minus 20% since it was obvious from the price she found in the computer that it was a mistake. I agreed we were even, no problem right? Well, when I returned today the owner had caught what the employee had done, rang up a new tag for a "dress shirt" $7.95 and placed it on top of the original "uniform shirt" $5.00 quote (which was $4 with the discount). I politely confronted the employee about the issue, she was just as confused as I was. No matter which combination of choices she used in the computer ("uniform shirt", "dress shirt", "creases", etc.) the only price she could come up with was $6.50. So.... this was going nowhere so she called the owner. The owner asked to speak with me and spent 10min trying to explain herself. Long story short, she wasn't making any sense at all and was trying to blame her employees for the confusion. When I explained that it was her who originally quoted and charged me the $5.00 price she went silent and tried to pass it off. At this point I was tired of being messed around with. She honored the price and I told her I would not be returning. Dishonesty won't get you anywhere. read more

The best alterations I have received anywhere. The pricing is great as well. Dry cleaning is spectacular. I am shocked by the negative reviews because that has not been my experience. And, when I am there, other customers come in raving about the service, prices and great alternations. I have been using them for nearly 3 years and am very satisfied. Been using Dry Clean City since Jan 2011. So far my #1 go to place for my dry cleaning. The new owners do a really great job on my clothes, are extremely nice and remember me every single time by name. They seem to be very persistent with deadlines, so i can always expect all my garments to be done on time. My husband takes his clothes here as it is on his way to work. I wished I knew where he was taking the clothes as the yelp reviews would have been a fair warning to steer clear of this place. I had a blazer get cleaned there, and upon pick-up they told my husband they were not able to clean it because there was a hole in the sleeve. When I saw my blazer it was indeed dry cleaned, as the stain I wanted to be removed was gone, and the cleaners caused the hole! If you are going to destroy a garment, then at least own up to it, and offer some sort of discount or compensation for the damage. Don't tell a lie about it, so disappointed, everyone should take their business elswhere. read more

ok ... seriously ... this Dry Clean City in Belmont made my day... They know magic!!! I am so happy that I can not describe ... Anyway, I put my white judogi in a laundry together with other things, which were not white and my beautiful and very expensive made in Japan judogi ended up with many ugly blue and yellow stains. I tried Oxyclean liquid and a powder - didn't work ... I kept it in detergent over night - didn't work ... I put a question on my Facebook page-didn't work ... I was desperate ... the Dry Clean City was my last hope ... to make it short, I came today to pick it up and didn't really believe to what I saw ... My beautiful judo gi was absolutely white ... even better then a new one... I am very happy ... This Dry Clean City in Belmont is the place I am going to come every single time ... Hemming is Amazing! I took a pair of designer jeans here to get hemmed. It only cost $10!! When I walked in, it was empty and the very nice asian lady immediately came to my assistance. She had me put the jeans on in their small dressing room, then measured the length- the whole time talking me through what I wanted. She input me into her computer and printed me a receipt. The best part, it only took a day! Actually, less than 24 hours since I brought the jeans in on a Thursday night and picked them up on Friday afternoon. The hemming was perfect. I am going to take all my jeans and pants here. The lady is soooo nice and very professional. Also, they take credit cards and are open until 7pm on weekdays which is great for us working folk! read more

I am giving them three stars only because I don't like damaging reputation of small businesses. The attitude of the owner of this place is disgusting and unacceptable. When my pants were not cleaned well with her dry cleaning on multiple occasions and I brought this to her attention, she was very irritated and acted that it was not her problem. When my dress pants came back all shiny from being improperly ironed and i told her that dress pants have to be steamed , not ironed, to avoid making then shiny, she also acted unhappy and spoke to me as if she was doing me a big favor. I am not taking my clothes here any longer, when you are an owner of the company you have to make sure your clients are happy. If your service sucks you should take complaints into account and improve instead of being unhappy and make your customers feel uncomfortable. read more

I'm not sure what happened. Everything has changed. I've been bringing my stuff there for a while. Now it's new people. I always drop off on Tuesday night and pick-up on Thursday. When I dropped off this last time, the lady helping me seemed confused by this. She asked for my name and not my number like they usually do. She wrote on my ticket Thursday because it had Friday printed on it. I show up on Thursday and she can't find my stuff and says sorry it's not ready come back tomorrow at noon. She pointed to where my ticket said Friday, so I pointed to where whe wrote Thursday roght over it in BIG letters. I said Ok, it's an inconvenience going on Friday but what was I going to do, they had my clothes. So, I go in today, Friday, just after noon and she is confused and can't find my clothes. Three people get involved and about 20 minutes go by and then the man there asks me "are you new?" so I said "no, are you?' I asked if they were new owners and he said no. I said well something clearly has changed. They finally found my stuff, after about 25 minutes and gave me a $0.25 discount. Gee thanks. It's funny what we'll tolerate for convenience. Their mediocre service did mediocre work, in a mediocre amount of time and at a mediocre price before. The mediocraty has ended. I'll gladly drive way out of my way now to avoid giving an establishment like this my business. The guy in line behind me had problems too, so you can expect to be disappointed, Mediocraty isn't worth the risk and at this point, and they can only strive for mediocraty.
